It seems that "Rakusa Honten" and "Seitenya Nishiki" have been combined into one store and reopened in January this year! Looking at the evening menu, they have sushi and oden, but it feels like a typical izakaya. There was a sign outside with "Today's Lunch Menu" and today they had these 3 options: ◆ Chicken Karaage Set Meal 750 yen ◆ Sushi and Tempura Set Meal 1,100 yen ◆ Daily Special 850 yen (Sukiyaki) * Free refills for rice and miso soup I was torn between the daily special and the slightly more luxurious sushi & tempura, so I went with the latter! I realized after ordering that it doesn't come with rice or miso soup, so I won't be able to enjoy the free refills ( ̄▽ ̄;) The sushi included tuna, shrimp, squid, octopus, and conger eel, while the tempura had 2 shiitake mushrooms, lotus root, conger eel, mountain vegetable, and shiso leaf... there was also one that looked like some kind of unknown mountain vegetable. The sushi was quite ordinary and didn't quite meet my expectations. As for the tempura, it didn't come with tempura dipping sauce, so I had to eat it all with salt. I like eating tempura with salt, so it wasn't a problem, but I think it would be nice to have both options for those who prefer tempura dipping sauce. The tempura was crispy and satisfying, more so than the sushi. I thought the udon would be cold, but it was actually warm... or rather, the soup was slightly lukewarm, but it was surprisingly filling. The small side dish of pickled mackerel was the highlight of the day for me. Thank you for the meal.
