I visited the restaurant alone around 5:30 pm on a regular weekday. I happened to stop by and found it to be a place I would like to visit again if it were local. There were a few people at the table seats, but no one at the counter. The staff members were attentive, with one always in the dining area, and that day, all kitchen staff were male, including a young man who provided excellent service. Each time I ordered a drink or food, they confirmed the order with the kitchen staff, showing that they were well-trained. The atmosphere of the restaurant was lively, and the speed of serving drinks and food was satisfactory. I was able to relax and enjoy my time there.

Today, I was working in Shijo-Karasuma again. It was so hot that I only needed a T-shirt for lunch, summer is coming. I went to Ichiraku-ya Higashitoin Takatsuji store, which I had been wanting to try. With only 3 seats inside, the loud voice of the head chef echoed throughout the restaurant. I ordered the special deluxe seafood bowl I had been looking forward to! They served me a glass of cold water, which I personally like. After waiting for 5 minutes, the dish arrived! A set of macaroni, miso soup, and the special deluxe seafood bowl. This seafood bowl was overflowing with seafood on top of the rice. It had sea bream, tuna, firefly squid, crab, and more. The miso soup was delicious and the hospitality of the whole staff was wonderful. And all this for less than 1,000 yen, amazing! I would love to come back for dinner. Highly recommended for lunch! Thank you for the meal! #Ichiraku-ya Higashitoin Takatsuji store #seafood bowl #cozy diner #gourmet #gourmetgram #looking to connect with gourmet lovers #looking to connect with lunch lovers #great value lunch #lunch on Instagram #looking to connect with lunch lovers #Instagrammable seafood bowl #delicious seafood bowl #photogenic seafood bowl #looking to connect with seafood lovers #Kyoto City #Shijo-Karasuma gourmet #Shijo Station #izakaya #Kyoto Prefecture gourmet #delicious fish #Japan #Kyoto #gourmet #Japanese food #hearty lunch!

Had a seafood bowl for lunch while out. I got the large serving of rice, but it was actually a good choice because there was plenty of seafood. It came with miso soup and a side dish, all for 1000 yen. Pretty cheap. I'd like to come back for dinner, but I need to deal with my gout first. #SeafoodBowl #Izakaya #Lunch #Kyoto #KyotoGourmet #Bikerider

This seafood bowl series features 20 restaurants, with 6 in Nagoya and 14 in Kansai. The second half of the series starts with a focus on the cheapest option... Seafood Bowl Showdown 2022 - Part 12: "Ichiraku-ya Higashinoin Takatsuji Branch" (Kyoto, Karasuma). I ordered the Special Deluxe Seafood Bowl for 990 yen.

Izakaya San Sou is a place with a retro Showa era vibe, featuring counter seats and tatami rooms big enough for parties. The customers are mostly salarymen enjoying drinks after work. The alcohol is cheap and the restaurant is easy to use. The menu includes sashimi, fried foods, hot pot, and charcoal-grilled dishes, perfect for drinking. My recommendation is the grilling option. You start by placing a hot charcoal grill in the middle of the table and cook your own food. It's a fun experience to grill and eat at your own pace. I especially love the grilled clams.

Today's lunch was at a seafood izakaya located on Higashinotoindori Street. I ordered their famous "Special Deluxe Seafood Bowl" for lunch, which is their signature menu item. It was mentioned that once it's sold out, lunch service ends. The counter display was filled with a variety of seafood. The place seemed to attract a lot of office workers as customers.
The "Special Deluxe Seafood Bowl" came with a daily side dish and a hearty miso soup. You could also choose to have extra rice for free. The bowl was filled with crab, salmon, sea bream, mackerel, tuna, yellowtail, negitoro, and dried baby sardines. It was a colorful and delicious seafood bowl. I mixed wasabi with soy sauce, took a bite, and enjoyed the meal. It was a delight to have crab for lunch. I thoroughly enjoyed the abundance of seafood.
The restaurant quickly filled up with customers, and before I knew it, they had sold out and were turning away customers. It's easy to see why the Special Deluxe Seafood Bowl is so popular!

I visited a izakaya where I couldn't understand the menu but I mainly went for the food, not the drinks. The dishes came out quickly and were served hot, fresh, and delicious. The slices of bonito and salmon sashimi were thick and fatty, very satisfying. The bonito had no fishy taste at all, just like when I had it in Kochi or Ishigaki Island. The Caesar salad with prosciutto was also amazing. The staff were friendly and energetic, despite the small size of the restaurant. I wish there were more table seats so I could relax more. Even the pineapple juice was sweet and delicious. This izakaya deserves more recognition!

Visited in April 2019 with a rating of 3.02 on Tabelog. I ordered the specialty dish, "Special Deluxe Seafood Bowl" for lunch at this seafood-focused izakaya. The restaurant had a mix of counter and table seating, but I opted for the counter. The seafood bowl included tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and even mackerel. The fish was all very tender, with no chewy textures. I added extra wasabi, which they happily provided. The miso soup with seaweed and fish scraps had a nice flavor. The large portion size filled me up completely. Thank you for the meal.

I visited for dinner. I visited when I went to Kyoto for work. This is an article from a while ago. I found it a decent distance from the hotel. When it comes to Kyoto cuisine, there is an image of carefully handling the ingredients, and the appearance is beautiful, right? It is important to put effort into it after all. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

When I entered the restaurant, I was immediately served with a cold jug of tea which was very refreshing on a hot day. The lunch menu consisted of seafood bowls in different sizes, curry, and pork bowls, and I chose the medium seafood bowl. It came with a side dish and miso soup for 1000 yen. The seafood toppings were a bit thin, but it was easy to eat and had a variety of ingredients which made it satisfying and delicious. The majority of customers were men and the service was good, so I might go back again.

I stayed at the JAL Princess Hotel right next to this restaurant, so I decided to visit. When I passed by in the late afternoon and when I entered the shop, there was a scary-looking person in front of the shop, which made me a little nervous. However, the food was delicious and cheap, and all the staff were very friendly, so I was quite satisfied. I would like to visit this restaurant again if I can go to Kyoto.

It's been six months since my last visit. We've known each other for 15 years! I've been neglecting them due to frequent business trips. But the master warmly welcomed me back with a "welcome home!" I am grateful for their kindness. The food was delicious!

I think the best cost performance seafood bowl can be found at a casual restaurant. I am very satisfied with the quantity and quality.

The atmosphere is like a regular izakaya, but the dishes, from appetizers to sashimi and grilled items, are all delicious and reasonably priced. I have used this place many times.

I have been curious about this shop with a striking wooden sign for a while. I saw a sign for "Special Deluxe Seafood Bowl for 900 yen" and decided to give it a try. Although I didn't have high expectations for a special dish under 1000 yen, the portion was quite generous. The bowl included sea bream, yellowtail, salmon, octopus, cured mackerel, minced tuna with green onions, yellowtail amberjack, dried young sardines, and crab. It was quite luxurious. The taste was average, but the miso soup and side dishes were plentiful, making it a good value for 900 yen. It seems like you can also get a large serving of rice. I left feeling very full.

I visited the Japanese izakaya restaurant Ichirakuya in Higashitoin Takatsuji with a friend. The interior of the restaurant was more spacious than I had expected. The energetic voice of the chef resounded throughout. The appetizers were reasonably priced. The complimentary dishes were potato salad and hot spring egg. For our main dishes, we ordered sashimi octopus, rolled omelette, and fried upper mino. The fried mino was perfect with beer. We ordered a half portion of the sashimi octopus, which was quite generous. This restaurant seems suitable for parties and has good value for money. It seems like it would be more enjoyable with a larger group of people!

Dinner on the second day in Kyoto. Yesterday I had chicken at Mizudaki Manjiro, so today I felt like having fish. I walked towards Shijo from the hotel, but the restaurant I had in mind was full. So I found another place on the way that seemed like they served fish, and decided to go in. The name of the branch was "Ichiraku-ya Higashitoin Takatsuji Store". I sat at the end of the counter. There were about 4 tables, and the place was about 30% full. They had the fresh fish I was looking for, as well as grilled dishes and stir-fries. The fried thick tofu and konjac in the oden were surprisingly delicious. The octopus sashimi was quite generous. The Thai sashimi was not bad. The grilled scallops from Hokkaido were a hit, good value for the price. The grilled green onion and pork belly was tasty, with a sauce that resembled store-bought yakiniku sauce. The negitoro roll was decent. I had a glass of beer and two glasses of warm sake (maybe from Matsumoto Brewery). The total bill was 4970 yen, which was reasonable. By the time we left, the place was almost full with regular customers. It was a cozy izakaya loved by locals.
