Kyoto confectionery brand "Biten" which produces and sells famous Kyoto sweets such as "Nama Yatsuhashi," "Otabe," and "Kyoto Baum," has opened a complex brand store for Kyoto souvenirs called "Kyoto Kashi Koji Yojiro Guchi Store" at Kyoto Station Hachijo Exit. The store has a warm and inviting atmosphere with wooden accents. They offer a variety of Kyoto souvenirs, including matcha sweets like "Kyoto Baum" and Langue de Chat and rusk from the "Tsujiri" brand. The recommended item is the store-exclusive "Kyoto Baum Sweets." The Kyoto Matcha Sandwich (291 yen) is a buttercream with matcha and red bean sandwiched between butter sable in the shape of Kyoto Baum. The sable is excellent, and it complements the matcha cream well. The Kyoto Matcha Souffle (291 yen) is a matcha cream sandwiched between souffle. The fluffy and moist souffle pairs perfectly with the gentle matcha cream. The Kyoto Baum (1296 yen) is a recent favorite of mine, I love it. The Spring Otabe (702 yen) is a limited edition spring Otabe that delivers the essence of Kyoto spring. It wraps a sakura-colored sakura mochi-flavored anko and sakura-flavored koshi an inside a Nama Yatsuhashi. The soft and chewy Nama Yatsuhashi with two types of anko is perfect for spring.
