I entered Kyoto Nishiki Market's "Market Direct Seafood Wholesaler" without researching, as I was short on time. As expected, it was tourist prices... I chose a relatively acceptable cost performance option, the live scallop bowl for 1480 yen. There was a bowl priced at 7800 yen, which was out of my league... but at this price, the food was called out by a bell like in a food court, and what I ate had to be returned through a system at the collection point... and the water was in paper cups. When I went to pick it up, it was really small... What kind of bowl is this? It's like a teacup... But the live scallops were fresh and delicious!!! The rice was either too sweet or too hard... My daughter's eel bowl was huge!!! It was a super chubby giant eel.

"The 'Pot Harami Skewer' is a visually impactful skewer. It comes with a slice of lemon pierced through the harami, which you squeeze before eating. The harami itself is juicy and packs a punch. In terms of cost performance, it's quite good, don't you think?"

I originally wasn't thinking about seafood, but I was drawn in by the entrance and menu. The donburi was small and perfect for light eaters, with miso soup included. The restaurant isn't very spacious, but they have tables that can accommodate 4-5 people, so it seems suitable for group dining as well.

I finally visited the restaurant after finding out about it online or on Instagram. They offer a wide variety of seafood bowls, which are delicious, but the prices are a bit high so I don't feel like coming back. It seems like they mainly cater to tourists at Nishiki Market.

Kitchen in Kyoto - Located in the Nishiki Market shopping street, this seafood bowl restaurant was a great find for me as I was craving some fish after having a lot of meat lately. The place was almost full during lunchtime. They were grilling delicious-looking beef tongue skewers outside, but I resisted the temptation and ordered the following instead: - Tuna & medium fatty tuna bowl - Sea urchin and salmon roe bowl - Whole abalone skewer - Rolled omelette skewer Each bowl came with a topping of egg yolk, and they were all very filling. The restaurant has tatami seating in the back, so you can enjoy a relaxed meal. Personally, I loved the thick and juicy abalone skewer with butter soy sauce. If you ever visit, make sure to try it out. Thank you for the delicious meal!

The drinks are cheap, but the main dish is... tourist spot price. I recommend trying other restaurants.
