I heard that there is a direct sales store of Eirakuya in Yamaashi, so I decided to go and check it out. It's just a few minutes walk south from Gojo Street. The store had a proper signboard hanging outside, but the atmosphere inside was a bit dark. They had a variety of products like tsukudani and their main products like Kohaku and Mikasa, but there were no special deals or discounts that are commonly found in direct sales stores. I was a bit disappointed because I was expecting that. It felt like the store is mainly for those who really want to buy Eirakuya's sweets in Yamaashi. It seems that some products require reservations in advance.

I received some treats from a neighbor! Although this shop is well-known, this branch doesn't have any reviews yet, so I'll give it a try. I'm not a fan of red beans, so I mainly tried the chestnut steamed buns. The filling inside was white bean paste with chestnut pieces, which I love. The white bean paste and chestnuts were delicious, but the sesame-like white poppy seeds added a nice touch! I wish they had sprinkled more of those on top, but I understand it might not look good. I enjoyed it with some tasty milk, making it a special late-night snack. My cat even begged for more chestnut pieces, so we enjoyed it together. Thank you for the delicious treat!
