At 4 o'clock on Saturday. This week, I visited various places to see the full bloom of the double cherry blossoms at Higashiborigawa. There were quite a few foreigners, maybe coming from Nijo Castle or Seimei Shrine? Next to Rubino, there is an open coffee stand that caught my eye, so I stopped by. They offer simple coffee and some small sweets, all very affordable. The Florentine was easy to eat as it was in stick form. Florentine at Hillante? Surprisingly, they are open from 8 in the morning until 8 at night, a total of 12 hours. I might come back again.

A coffee stand along the side road of Horikawa Street. There is a simple bench and a shaded seat next to it, so I enjoyed my coffee and cookie on the bench along the Horikawa promenade. It's nice to do this on a sunny day. The iced coffee was not too bitter and easy to drink, and the homemade cookie was delicious.

I found a place that was quietly announced on SNS and decided to stop by for takeout. It is located along Higashihorikawa Street. There is also a Songbird Coffee shop, and the traffic is light going south on this one-way street. It is located next to the Rubino Hotel. The blended coffee seemed to be freshly opened. The blend of their own roasted coffee was slightly towards the medium side between light and dark. It had a moderate body and a refreshing sweetness. I couldn't see where they were brewing, but I think it was a pour-over drip. It was quite good. They also had the usual baked goods in the showcase. They put the banana cake in a paper similar to a Famichiki, making it easy to eat. They asked if I needed sugar or milk, although I didn't use them. The customers at the time I visited were mostly of a calm age group. When you hear about their own roasted coffee, it may seem intimidating to some, but I think it is reassuring that they also have soft drinks. As the name suggests, there are many lanterns placed around, and I thought it would be nice to have coffee on a bench after sunset. I checked the shop card and found out that they are open until 9 p.m. This is a place I must visit for a cool evening breeze!

I happened to stop by this shop for a break, and it turned out to be a cozy place. The banana juice was rich and tasted like 100% real bananas, it was really delicious. Lately, trendy cafes have been popping up all over Kyoto, but many of them serve drinks that are half ice and disappointing. So, I was pleasantly surprised to find a place that was reasonably priced and served a delicious juice that was satisfyingly good.
