After a great drinking session with my boss and colleague A at a first meeting, we joined the rest of the team after finishing overtime at a farewell party for A. The venue was a pub we visited last spring with the head of the Kyoto office. We started with a toast with draft beer. Some of the male employees started teasing a saleswoman selling electronic cigarettes at the restaurant, using Kansai dialect, while I felt a bit uncomfortable trying an electronic cigarette for the first time. It was such a fun drinking party, filled with drinking, eating, chatting, and laughing. I vividly remember how delicious the fried chicken was. Even though it was a weekday, I had planned to drink moderately, but the realization of saying goodbye to A on their last day made me appreciate the opportunity to drink with such a great team, so I ended up drinking more than expected. I was drawn in by the 199 yen draft beer and came to this restaurant. The inside is quite spacious. The appetizer was cabbage with salted kombu, which is refreshing in the summer. Other reviews mentioned corn as an appetizer and bamboo shoot tempura on the menu, so it seems like they have seasonal items even though it's a chain restaurant, which is nice. I was interested in the grilled whole chicken on the sign, but the staff said it's quite big, so I decided to try other dishes today. I had chicken wings, liver, negima (chicken and green onion skewers), gizzard, scallion-wrapped chicken, and beef tripe stew. The grilled chicken dishes were delicious, freshly grilled. Warm grilled chicken is disappointing, right? The beer goes down smoothly - and it's great that it's only 199 yen. I think this casual yakitori restaurant is easy to visit whether you're alone or with a large group. Thank you for the meal.

At night in Kyoto's Shijo, I wanted to eat something Kyoto-like, but the restaurant I had in mind was full. Without a reservation, I got tired of looking for an available restaurant and ended up at a large izakaya. A medium-sized draft beer was only 199 yen, not very Kyoto-like but cheap, so it's good. However, I was charged 300 yen for a serving of raw cabbage as an appetizer (laughs). The "Assorted Grilled Chicken Skewers" (780 yen) were delicious, especially the tender liver. If you try this grilled chicken, you'll be smitten. This is the real "tori-mero" (chicken bliss), if you will. Please forgive me for talking about alcohol. The "Quail Pickles" were 299 yen, cheaper than the appetizer. The "Fried Onion Soaked" was 199 yen. With this, you don't need an appetizer. I often see fried eggplant soaked, but this was my first time seeing fried onion. As for the service, it's like any urban chain izakaya, so that's what you can expect.

I thought I had eaten a lot, but it came out to 12,800 yen for 4 people plus an extra. It wasn't super cheap, but I was surprised at how affordable it was. The standout dish for me was the stuffed bell peppers (farcie). Everything was delicious. As for drinks, I tried the Ramune liqueur, MegaNanami, but it lacked carbonation and tasted more like sweet Ramune. The whipped cream was mildly sweet, and the churros didn't have sugar on them!

Visited with a friend. We had made a reservation for the Tori Melo course in advance through a reservation site. We were planning on lightly drinking and eating as the price was reasonable. When we were seated, it took a while for someone to come take our drink order, and when they did, the drinks never arrived. Eventually, another staff member came and said that our table was not reserved, which was not true. After showing them the reservation screen and confirmation email, we finally got started. We were served smoked quail eggs and salad, followed by a hot pot. However, the grilled chicken skewers, fried chicken, and yakitori never came. Before we knew it, they brought out ramen as the last dish! When we mentioned that the other dishes had not arrived, they brought out the fried chicken, which was undercooked and had to be replaced. After that, all the other dishes came out at once. The grilled chicken skewers were burnt, the yakitori was cold, and at this point, we were too full to eat. This was the worst restaurant experience we've ever had. We will never go back again.

It's been a while since I visited. Four of us drank and ate to our hearts' content, and it cost 3,000 yen per person. As expected, draft beer is cheap. The food was hearty and satisfying. The salted kombu cabbage appetizer was delicious!

The boiled bird's foot is delicious, please try it.

I am satisfied after enjoying yakitori and kushikatsu. I will visit again.

The food is delicious because it is grilled over charcoal. However, this time the green onion balls were too burnt (almost charcoal) and the edamame was too salty. The stuffed bell peppers were incredibly delicious though. Overall, it's cheap so I will definitely go back again.

On my second visit, there were more menu options compared to other restaurants, and the best part is that until the end of this month, highballs are only 199 yen, which is very much appreciated.

The alcohol was served too late.

On Saturday night, three of us visited this place and the bill came to almost 10,000 yen. We decided to try it out because draft beer was cheap, and it turned out to be a spacious and welcoming izakaya. If you focus on draft beer, you could probably spend even less. The yakitori was delicious. Next time, I'll go for the draft beer, yakitori, and cucumbers set!
