On this day, I stopped by Azabu-Juban and had lunch at a place I had been wanting to try for a while. My relatives live nearby, and every year my daughter looks forward to the Azabu-Juban Festival, so we always visit. This year, after waiting for 4 years, it will be held on August 26th and 27th, and I can't wait. This place has been selected as one of the top 100 bread shops in Tokyo for the past 5 years in a row. I highly recommend dining in. I had expected it, but as soon as I opened the door, the scene that unfolded was like being on a women-only train. I managed to avoid the piercing cold stares (just my imagination) and finally managed to get the attention of a female staff member who asked with a smile, "Are you willing to wait as we are currently full?" Just then, a madam who had been eyeing the situation quickly started packing up her things and said, "Here you go." She left the shop. The real madam in a satin dress exuded an air of composure, and I could only manage to say, "I'm sorry." The eat-in menu offers 4 options (tax included): One-Dish Plate for 1800 yen, Salad Lunch Plate for 1300 yen, Quiche Lunch Plate for 1200 yen, and Sandwich Lunch Plate for 1100 yen. The sandwich plate is very popular, but today, I ordered the Salad Set for 1300 yen (tax included) and an Iced Coffee for 200 yen (tax included). For the next 10 minutes until my order arrived, the nearby madams kept coming in, taking out about 6 different types of bread. The set includes an assortment of 5 homemade breads, the main dish of the day, and a salad. The main dish was a long, juicy pork sausage with plenty of meaty flavor and a satisfying portion. The salad was piled high with sunny lettuce, beets, carrots, cherry tomatoes, lotus root, cucumber, sweet potatoes, and a dressing with tart olive oil. It was just right for someone with no appetite in the scorching heat, and all the vegetables were delicious, especially the sweet tomatoes. Mozzarella cheese, beans, and a generous serving of superfood quinoa added to the already high satisfaction of both taste and quantity. The iced coffee was fragrant, perfectly rich, and very delicious. I completely forgot about the "Top 100 Bread Shops" aspect of the place. The 5 types of bread served were mainly soft breads, with a delightful aroma and great flavors. They even provide a doggy bag from the start, which is a nice touch. After eating 4 pieces, I took the raisin bread home for my favorite person waiting there. It was a very satisfying lunchtime, and I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.
