My companion had tried the famous "kawa" at the original Hakata branch, so we decided to visit "Kawaya" here. The restaurant was about 80% full, with many people ordering the "kawa" skewers. Some were enjoying the renowned "motsunabe" hot pot as well. My companion was chatting with the daughter-in-law of their son who had contracted COVID. So, I placed the order casually. Our order included: - Beer, oolong tea - Chicken skin skewers - Pork belly - Pork jowl - Chicken thighs - Rolled omelette - Chicken liver skewers The "kawa" skewers were as delicious as always, meticulously prepared and different from others. However, the skin on this day was a bit too fatty. The pork belly skewers were average. The rolled omelette was fluffy and delicious, although slightly salty. The chicken thighs were small and cute, while the chicken liver skewers were extremely spicy. Despite that, I managed to finish them all. One great thing about Hakata yakitori restaurants is that they serve complimentary cabbage, and the sauce for the cabbage was tasty! I like to sprinkle some shichimi spice on it. After the meal, we said goodbye to my companion at Karasuma Station as we were staying in different hotels.

It's popular in Hakata, with even women ordering dozens of pieces to eat. I visited the store right after it opened because the food looked delicious on TV. I can't compare it to the real thing since I haven't tried it before, but it was tasty so I visited again after a while. The atmosphere seemed a bit different from my last visit. It felt like they fried it once before grilling it this time. I think it used to come with a sweet and savory sauce... But it was delicious, so I ordered 10 pieces which disappeared quickly, and then I ordered another 10. I also had pork belly and smashed cucumbers and left feeling full and satisfied. Popular chain restaurant in Hakata was also in Osaka, but it was also in Kyoto. We used it for the second party. It's a second party, so we drink a little and eat a little. Considering the volume and price, the cost performance is not great. The skin is the most delicious. The yakitori is not bad either, but the cabbage at the start was not tasty... Even though I arrived for lunch at 13:30, the restaurant was quite crowded with customers. Last time I came, it was empty, so I was surprised! I wanted to order the Yakitori Bowl, but it was sold out, so I went for the Stamina Pork Belly Bowl in a large portion. At the table next to me, there were customers smoking cigarettes... That's right! This place allows smoking even during lunch, a smoker's paradise. The pork belly had just the right amount of fat and was quite delicious! As the weather gets colder, dishes like Hakata motsunabe and Hakata mentaiko tororo nabe seem very appealing. Thank you for the meal.
