I was surprised to see a sudden line forming at a residential area bakery that is only open two days a week (Thursday and Saturday) selling chiffon cakes and baked goods. The first time I went, I arrived after they opened and couldn't buy any chiffon cakes. The second time, I went just before opening and there were already 17-18 people ahead of me. After waiting for about an hour, I managed to buy some, although some items were already sold out. The chiffon cakes were so light and fluffy that they disappeared in no time. The texture was like magic, both fluffy and moist. There is a limit of 6 pieces per person, but the cakes are so light that some people might finish all 6 in one go. The prices are very reasonable, starting at 250 yen for a plain chiffon cake. Payment is cash only. Many people seemed to be buying the maximum of 6 pieces. The bakery is not easily accessible, but it's worth the wait in line for a delicious treat. Note that they do not use tickets, so there is a possibility of not being able to buy even if you wait in line. They open at 10:30 am and often sell out by noon. The line moves slowly, and by 11:30 am, about half of the items were already sold out.
