This is my third visit, but the restaurant was full of regular customers. It's a cozy sushi restaurant with a good reputation, even attracting local families from Kyoto. It's a bit off the main Hanami Koji street, which adds to its charm. I felt at ease at this traditional sushi restaurant. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos this time, but we had 4 appetizers including sashimi and grilled ayu, as well as 8 pieces of sushi and drinks, all for 14,000 yen per person.

Located quietly in a prime location in Gion, this restaurant exudes an elegant atmosphere with no private parking. The interior is simple and sophisticated, with a clean and refined feel. The entrance has a toilet and the staff provides good service. Seating is only available at the counter, with a fast service time. The drinks menu is standard, but the seafood is fresh and the recommended dishes are all well-crafted. The restaurant may seem a bit high-end, making it suitable for business meetings or dates. The restaurant has a decent level of sophistication, with prices in line with the Gion area. Overall, the satisfaction level is good considering the price and taste. The staff provides polite service upon departure.

I don't remember going out to eat with my junior high school classmates, but it was nice to be able to eat a variety of dishes. Considering the location, it might be cheap.

It's a revisit. (February, Heisei 24) I stopped by after a long time, but it was full even though it was past 9 o'clock. It's still as popular as ever. Of course, the food and service were excellent. It's a highly satisfying restaurant. Thank you for the meal, I will come again!
Located a little off Hanami Koji Street, this stylish restaurant has a sophisticated atmosphere. In the elegant interior made entirely of white wood, a young and wonderful head chef will personally prepare the finest sushi in a Kyoto-like exquisite time and space. The basic course is omakase, but they will also take orders if you prefer. The shari (sushi rice) is perfect in terms of rice firmness, pressing strength, vinegar seasoning, and the quality and taste of the toppings are all outstanding, creating the best sushi. The service is top-notch, with the hostess serving attentively. This is truly the finest sushi in Kyoto. It was a happy time, thank you for the meal.

It's been a while since I had a meal with a friend from Kyoto. Since it was my friend's birthday last month, I decided to splurge a bit this time. The walk from Shijo Street down to the restaurant was very pleasant, with a nice atmosphere. The grilled Matsukasa of Gyuji was delicious, although a bit salty for Kyoto standards. The highlight was the karasumi, which we couldn't stop praising. The staff even brought out a piece they don't usually serve, which had a texture similar to firm mentaiko but tasted like karasumi. Personally, I preferred this version with its rich flavor and texture. As we warmed up with hot sake, I asked about cold sake options and was told they had a rare one called "Junmai Ginjo Fukujyu." This sake was served to VIPs by Professor Yamanaka when he won the Nobel Prize, and it was very refined. The ambiance, taste, and service were all above average. However, if it weren't for the Fukujyu sake, it would have been perfect. It would be nice to have a wider selection of sake, especially some from Fushimi. Since December is my birthday month, I hope my friend will treat me next time. (laughs)

I used this restaurant for a date in May. The atmosphere of the restaurant is like a tea house street, which made it a bit intimidating to enter for the first time. When I entered the entrance of the restaurant, I found that the inside was larger than I expected, with about 15 seats at the counter and even a courtyard. There were also tatami rooms in the back. The restaurant was very clean. The young master and kind landlady were very friendly and approachable. The sushi was delicious and satisfying. They were also willing to accommodate special requests, which made me very happy. However, I think it would have been even better if they had recommendations for today or this month's recommended ingredients written on Japanese paper or something similar. The prices were also surprisingly affordable, which I appreciated. I would like to use this restaurant for business entertainment in Kyoto in the future.

Upon walking along the Kyoto-like cobblestone streets with high tension, I arrived at the charming "Hana no I" restaurant. The atmosphere was delightful, and the attentive hostess made me feel like I was in a quintessential Kyoto establishment. I was warmly greeted by the enthusiastic hostess and seated at the counter or in a private room. Behind the counter, a young and handsome chef skillfully prepared sushi for us. The first course was a silky smooth chawanmushi, followed by a succession of incredibly delicious assorted sushi. Each piece was so tasty that I couldn't pick a favorite. The experience was truly blissful. Despite indulging in plenty of food and drinks, the bill came out to be around 10,000 yen, which seemed reasonable given the quality of the meal. I highly recommend this place!

I went with my work colleagues. When you pass through the curtain, you enter a small, cozy shop with a long Kyoto townhouse vibe and stone pavement. The counter was made of a single board, with a nice texture and feel. Since I wasn't picky, I let them choose the dishes for us. The homemade karasumi was excellent. The ingredients were fresh, and the white fish was well marinated, so I was satisfied. When I ordered the egg, I was expecting sushi-style tamago, but instead, I got freshly made dashimaki (rolled omelette), which was a bit disappointing. The young chef, who is one year younger than me, happily accommodated all our requests with a smile. It's a great place where you can become a sophisticated adult by casually entering alone.

A sushi restaurant located a short walk up from Kennin-ji Temple. The chef is the second generation and is young, but provides excellent service. The restaurant has a very "Kyoto" atmosphere, and guests from Tokyo especially enjoy the Hanami-koji street vibe. The sushi has a subtle flavor with small, elegant pieces. The balance between the rice and toppings is superb. The toppings vary each day, but the sushi with blue fish is particularly delicious. I also recommend trying the grilled eel. Despite the charming atmosphere, the prices are reasonable.
