One important event in a year, my wife's birthday. I visited a restaurant where they serve meat birthday cake. The atmosphere was great and the staff were friendly. It was a bit embarrassing when they sang Happy Birthday, but the meat was delicious. Especially the appetizers were amazing.

I visited this restaurant based on a recommendation from an acquaintance in Kyoto. Even before the opening, two women were already in line. The counter quickly filled up and we were led to the second floor, indicating that this is definitely a popular spot. The service from the entrance was smooth, and the interior was chic, modern, and very lovely. There was a sense of privacy, and it seemed like there were many couples dining. Since we were there, we decided to order a variety of dishes instead of opting for a set course. The presentation was beautiful and the taste was delicious. The side dishes were more like traditional Korean home-cooked dishes. The recommended 3 types of meat were brought out wrapped in dry ice, and each piece was explained and we were instructed on how to cook them. The quality of the meat was indeed excellent, but unfortunately, one of the types was quite thin and ended up sticking to the grill and falling apart when cooked... not sure if the meat was too thin, the grill was not good, or just bad luck. Out of the total 6 pieces (2 pieces each), 2 were almost inedible due to falling apart, which was disappointing considering the price was around ¥5000. The atmosphere was nice, and we were able to relax until we were full. The bill for two women came to about ¥25,000 without alcohol. Since we ordered individual items this time, perhaps opting for a set course would offer better value. Definitely not a place to take a growing boy who loves to eat a lot!! That's the kind of place it is.笑

After sightseeing in Kyoto, I wanted to eat some delicious meat in a nice atmosphere, so I found this restaurant. The entrance was stylish and the interior had a Kyoto-like atmosphere. The meat was carefully prepared with a hidden knife for each slice, as shown in the photos. High-quality Japanese beef, stylish interior, and skilled craftsmanship. It was delicious. They purchase whole black wagyu beef, so they have rare cuts available.
Tongue with salt, Kalbi, premium misuji, skirt, top loin, fillet, skirt meat, and special komtan kuppe.
Kalbi, premium misuji, skirt, and top loin are available in half sizes, which is great for trying out different varieties.
For drinks, they have barley shochu Sato with water.
We went at 5:30 pm, so we had the place to ourselves.
We thoroughly enjoyed the long-awaited yakiniku experience.

While strolling through Kiyamachi, I came across a new yakiniku restaurant and decided to make a reservation to visit. The restaurant, named "Ichiba Koji Kiyamachi," is operated by Star Shokudo, which has several other establishments in Kyoto such as "Steak Steak," "Milk Tonkatsu Tora," "Steak & Beer Hall Paris 21st Ward," and "Kyoto Western Restaurant Star." The interior of the restaurant, located on the intersection of Kiyamachi Street and Bukkoji Street, was stylishly renovated inside a traditional townhouse. I was seated at the counter on the first floor, which had a glass floor showcasing a wine cellar below. The menu was extensive and easy to read, with a slight casual feel to it. I ordered various dishes such as white cabbage kimchi, three types of namul, marukawa, lamb sirloin, harami, tenderloin, spicy yukkejang, and half-sized cold noodles, along with a draft beer and champagne. The meat was cut and grilled right in front of me, adding to the dining experience. The kimchi was delicious, but the grill plate tended to burn quickly and needed frequent changing. Overall, the atmosphere was great, and the cost performance was good, making it suitable for various occasions like dates or business meetings. I look forward to visiting again in a different setting.

I visited this restaurant for my boyfriend's birthday! The staff were very friendly and we had a great time. Both my boyfriend and I were very satisfied! The food was delicious too. I would love to visit again when I come to Kyoto for a trip.
