There is a restaurant located about a 10-minute walk from Kawaramachi Station. I ordered the 4840 yen (including tax) course. The amuse-bouche consisted of yokowa and yuba topped with caviar, etc. The appetizer platter included salmon and pork pate, swordtip squid, and one more dish which I forgot. The soup was made with kabra and ginger, and it really warmed me up. The herb butter-fried oysters were incredibly delicious. Eating them with baguette and sauce was the best. There was also a salad. For the main dish, you can choose between fish or meat. I chose the fish dish, but it felt a bit lacking in portion size. Dessert was pudding and coffee. All the dishes were delicious, but I didn't feel completely satisfied and might have wanted more.

It was located about a 10-minute walk from Gion Shijo. The pricing was quite reasonable for Gion, so I was a little worried. It wasn't French or Japanese cuisine, more like something in between, and for some reason, it didn't leave a strong impression. The restaurant was run by a couple who were very friendly.

I had the hamburger lunch course. It was delicious, but the hamburger was wrapped in bacon, making it difficult to cut with a knife. When I did manage to cut it, the inside was mushy and fell apart, making it a bit hard to eat.

For lunch on the second day, I had a course meal at a French kaiseki restaurant featuring Kyoto vegetables, with a hamburger course. Despite the price, I initially thought it would be a one-plate meal, but it turned out to be a full course with amuse-bouche, appetizers, and more. The menu had a slight Japanese influence and was somewhat unique. While not perfect, each dish had a delicious and interesting flavor. The hamburger was wrapped in tongue, and while the hamburger itself was juicy and tender, the tongue had a slightly distinctive taste. It might be a hit or miss depending on personal preference.

I was very nervous about dining alone at the counter for a kaiseki French meal, but the friendly atmosphere and thorough infection prevention measures allowed me to relax without worrying about other customers. Each dish was carefully prepared and delicious from the first bite to the last in the course meal. The chef, who is more like a head chef, and the kind and gentle service of the gracious lady were also noteworthy. I plan to visit again when I'm nearby.

It's a French restaurant in Kyoto, and everything was delicious. The course menu is a bit pricey, but worth it. The interior has a small eatery feel with a counter, and there are private rooms in the tatami area. The "Daphinoise Potatoes" as the third dish were delicious. As a potato lover, I really enjoyed it. I looked up what Daphinoise is, and it's basically potato gratin. Potato gratin is always delicious. The homemade coffee at the end was also tasty. The owner was friendly. Overall, it was a nice experience having French cuisine at the counter. Payment by card is accepted.

"Challenge to Tabelog, Find the Low-rated Hidden Gem Restaurants! After the successful Kyoto tour, Bonpapa was feeling confident and decided to embark on a second challenge to find low-rated and affordable restaurants. However, things didn't go as smoothly this time. The chosen restaurant for the day was "Kasanaga," with a Tabelog rating of 3.04 and only 3 reviews, giving off a somewhat lackluster vibe. Despite some hesitation, Bonpapa made a reservation based on the high praise and score on another website. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be a disappointment. The amuse-bouche and appetizers seemed clearly pre-made and stored for a considerable amount of time, resulting in a lackluster taste. This was a letdown in a city like Kyoto known for its vibrant food scene. The dishes, although well-prepared, lacked the freshness and were seemingly prepared in advance, with some final touches before serving. This affected the overall dining experience, as the flavors seemed to have deteriorated over time. The course menu, priced around 6000 yen, included dishes like bonito, conger eel with caviar, pumpkin potage, herb butter-grilled oysters, and a choice of fish, beef cheek stew, or lamb. The maple pudding dessert was also served. In conclusion, the dishes had a lingering taste of being stored or reheated, which overshadowed the intricate preparation and flavors. For Bonpapa, the key takeaway was the importance of serving dishes at their best condition, especially for pre-booked course meals. Despite the quick service and efficient dining experience, the lack of freshness in the dishes left a sour note. Overall, this review reflects personal opinions and experiences, and there is room for improvement in ensuring that dishes are served in their optimal state. Hopefully, the restaurant can work on enhancing the dining experience for future customers."

I went to this restaurant that I was curious about. The shop is run by a chef and his wife. When you enter the second floor, there is a nice atmosphere with a counter seat. It's French cuisine, right? It's a Kyoto cuisine restaurant, isn't it? There is a fish tank at the entrance with stone bream and spiny lobsters swimming. The vegetables used in the dishes are pesticide-free vegetables grown by the owner in his own home garden. I had a salad. The appetizer consisted of four kinds of dishes, which looked like Japanese cuisine. The grilled oysters with basil butter in shells were delicious with a nice texture. The Iga beef cheek wine stew was tender and tasty. The dessert was maple pudding, which was extremely delicious. I like firm pudding, but this one had a smooth texture with a perfect balance of firmness and maple flavor. Thank you for the meal. I would like to visit this restaurant again if I have the chance.

It's a cozy little shop with a very calming atmosphere. The combination of Japanese and French cuisine is delicious. I enjoyed various ingredients like shrimp, oysters, and meat. The vegetables were particularly delicious! It seems like a good place for welcome and farewell parties. They offer courses at various price points, which is great. I would definitely like to visit again.

Hmm, there was no sense of excitement, the quality didn't match the price, it wasn't bad but it wasn't really French cuisine either. It felt like a mix of traditional Japanese and French cuisine.
