After leaving the Kinuta Kyoto Katsura store that I just visited, I arrived at the Sushiro Kyoto Katsura store in Nishitakigawa, Nishikyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. Oh, come to think of it, I wrote about it in an article the other day, right? In terms of my preferences, I like Kura Sushi the most, but Sushiro is slowly but surely catching up!! Why is that!! I can almost hear someone saying that, but today, I'm here not for sushi, but for sweets.
Although I still have room in my stomach, this time I'm focusing on sweets... While waiting, how many times did I almost order sushi...? It was around 3 PM, so there weren't many customers, but quite a few people were visiting. Since I was alone, I was directed to the counter. Should I, should I eat sushi too...? Looking at the dessert menu-like list, I felt like there were more options on the touch panel. In the past, there used to be jellies and puddings rotating on the conveyor belt, and I used to wonder, "How long have these been going around...?" Is there anyone who eats those...? It felt like they wouldn't be cold and tasty! Times have changed, and the dessert options have become more stylish, with coffee menus like in convenience stores now available.
Although I came without much knowledge, I ordered the Hokkaido Milk Crepe Melba... Melba, what's that? I thought it would arrive soon, but I had to wait about 10 minutes for it to be served!! Hokkaido Milk Crepe Melba for 194 yen. Ice cream and whipped cream topped with a milk crepe. On top, there's something like a strawberry sauce and condensed milk... and small frozen strawberries cut into pieces. I tried it, and it was tastier than I expected. I haven't had milk crepes in a while, but it was delicious. The frozen strawberries that I thought were too sour to be needed brought an overall sweet flavor. It's not something you eat for volume, but for 180 yen, the quality is high, isn't it?
Since I was already there, I also ordered an iced coffee... Iced coffee for 162 yen. It was supposed to be served on the conveyor belt, but a staff member approached from behind and served it. The taste was neither good nor bad... Considering that you can drink it for 100 yen at convenience stores, it felt a bit expensive. I might not have needed to order it...?
Next, I ordered the Catalana Ice Brulee... This also took quite some time to be served. Catalana Ice Brulee for 194 yen. This was incredibly delicious. It had a custard cream-like pudding that was chilled and solidified, with a rich and creamy taste within the coldness. The caramelized top part had a bittersweet and crispy texture that was unexpectedly delicious. This is the kind of quality that makes it worth going to Sushiro just to eat this! The level of desserts at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant is amazing! I was impressed. I could have ordered more, but I couldn't resist the temptation of sushi, so I decided to leave after this.
The waiting time was too long, and I almost ordered sushi multiple times while waiting... Just like last time, I was on the verge of eating about 3000 yen worth without realizing it... If you can't find a dessert to end your meal nearby, it might be a good idea to jump into a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. They seem to have a variety of seasonal menus, so you won't get bored. Oh, right, since I came to a sushi restaurant, this should be the perfect ending!! I'll finish with strong tea and pickled ginger... The combination of bitter tea and ginger after eating something sweet... was great. (´・ω・`)●○●
