I came to Men Takahashi in Akabane on 2023/9/19 at 10:19. At the time of my visit, it had a rating of 3.72 on Tabelog's TOP 5000. It wasn't crowded yet, so I decided to come back later. I saw a review somewhere saying they open at 10:20, but maybe it was just a coincidence. There was a construction worker nearby who kept glancing over at me, making me feel a bit suspicious. I could hear the chime of a nearby elementary school. Maybe it's a sign for me to come back later. I returned at 10:40. There was one person in line, so I lined up behind them. Two colleagues behind me were talking about something that sounded like it was related to an entertainment agency. They were discussing an idol who had to do something soon, and how another girl needed to be more discreet or she would be found out. It was quite interesting to eavesdrop on their conversation. At 10:55, the shutter opened and I entered the restaurant. It had a counter with 6 seats and no background music. I ordered the Ramen for 700 yen. It arrived at 11:00. The soup had a rough texture with a balanced blend of animal and seafood flavors. It was quite hot but the flavors were not overpowering, with a nice balance of bonito and pork. The broth had a rich bonito aroma and a slight sweetness that stood out more than the saltiness. The noodles were thick and chewy, similar to what you might find in a tsukemen dish. They complemented the soup well. The cold chashu was a bit tough, but it softened when dipped in the hot soup. The menma was average. As I left the restaurant, I noticed that there were now three people waiting outside. Overall, the ramen was delicious and satisfying.

Mixture Char Siu Noodles - 1100 yen for this amount of Char Siu is amazing. The mixture includes two types of Char Siu. The seafood-based soup is rich and flavorful. Adding free fish powder and onions enhances the taste even more. It's a bit disappointing that the Char Siu felt slightly cold and tough. However, when soaked in the soup and eaten towards the end, it becomes quite delicious. The chewy and flavorful noodles are my favorite part. I would love to try these noodles in a dipping style.

I visited Takahashi Ramen after 18 years. I arrived at 10:45 am on a Saturday and ordered the mixed meat ramen. The noodles were delicious on their own, and the soup had a rich flavor with various ingredients like pork feet and cartilage. The bowl was filled with plenty of meat, especially the chewy and flavorful chashu. I quickly finished my meal and left the restaurant satisfied. Takahashi Ramen is still delicious after all these years.

On a regular workday, I stopped by a restaurant nearby for lunch. The place was quite small, with only a 6-seater counter that was so narrow my elbows kept bumping into things. I ordered the mixed meat ramen for 1,100 yen. The amount of meat in the ramen was impressive - not just on the surface but buried underneath as well. There were about 3 or 4 slices of meat, with the pork belly being juicy and flavorful, and the other type of meat, probably pork loin, was huge and very meaty. The meat was definitely the highlight of the dish. The soup was also quite good, with a strong seafood flavor. However, towards the end, it got a bit boring. The beginning was quite enjoyable with the soup. The reason for the low rating is mainly because the noodles were not great. They were medium-thick straight noodles that lacked flavor and had a strange texture - kind of like overcooked, stretchy udon noodles from elementary school lunches. I ended up leaving some of the noodles uneaten. Finally, without going into detail to avoid being deleted by the management, I must say that the hygiene standards at this restaurant were not good.

Today, I had lunch in Akabane. I visited a restaurant called "Men Takahashi" that I had been curious about. The restaurant has short opening hours, so it's a bit of a challenge to visit. It's located just a short walk from Akabane Station East Exit, about 5 minutes on foot. I arrived at the restaurant around 11:30 and luckily there were two seats available. This place operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so you have to wait for a seat to open up before entering. They don't use a ticket system, so you order directly. I heard the chashu (pork slices) here is delicious, so I ordered the Mixed Meat Noodles for 1,100 yen. The food arrived in less than 5 minutes, and wow, the chashu was plentiful! The aroma of the broth, made from bonito and other ingredients, was delightful. The broth had a good balance of bonito and meat flavors, not too light and very tasty. The noodles were medium-thick straight noodles from Asakusa Kaika-rou, cooked just right with a strong wheat flavor. They were delicious. The highlight was definitely the chashu. There were 5 slices of pork belly and 3 slices of pork shoulder (or leg?), very generous portions. The pork belly was juicy with a sweet oiliness, while the pork shoulder had a slight pinkness at the edges. It was chewy and packed with pork flavor. I added some chopped onions and fish powder from the table to enhance the soup, which was a nice touch. The fish powder intensified the seafood flavor of the broth. I was worried the chashu might be too rich, but it was surprisingly light and easy to eat. I can see why this place is popular. Next time, I want to try the meat dipping noodles.

I hadn't visited this place for almost 2 years, but I finally had a Monday off and decided to come. I was torn between the pork belly noodles and the usual mixed meat noodles in extra-large size, but ended up ordering the latter. The price seems to have increased by about 500 yen since my last visit, probably because I ordered the extra-large size, but it's still worth it for the regular portion. The thick noodles at Kaikaro are already quite filling, so I couldn't finish the extra-large portion of noodles with pork slices, but I managed to finish it all. The pork belly slices that used to be tender in the past felt slightly tough this time, while the shoulder meat was surprisingly tender and delicious. With a bottle of beer, the total came to 1950 yen. The charm of this place is that despite feeling full, the food is delicious. I left the restaurant realizing that it's a place where you can eat without playing mind games and just focus on enjoying the meal. Thank you for the delicious meal.

On Thursday, I worked from home and had a lunch at a different time. It was my first visit since January. I parked at a coin parking lot where I could see the restaurant, and arrived at 12:29 PM with 2 people waiting in line. At 12:30 PM, another person arrived, followed by another at 12:32 PM, and one more at 12:35 PM. My son and I entered the restaurant at 12:38 PM. I ordered the "Ran-kiri Chashu Shoyu Ramen" for 900 yen. The restaurant has only 6 counter seats and the owner manages everything alone. The ramen was served promptly at 12:40 PM! The soup was delicious with a rich chicken and seafood flavor. The noodles were firm and chewy, just like the ones at Asakusa Kaika-rou. The chashu pork was tender and tasty. I enjoyed the meal, finishing every last drop of soup and even adding the free chopped onions to my bowl for an extra crunch. I left the restaurant at the same time as my son, having finished my meal before the two customers who arrived before us. It was a satisfying and enjoyable meal, marking my 87th bowl of ramen this year. Thank you for the meal! When we left at 12:47 PM, there were 5 people waiting in line.

I love old-fashioned Chinese soba dishes like the one at Daikatsuken in Nagafukucho. The first time, the mixed meat soba had a lot of meat with a good texture, but the noodles and soup didn't mix well. The second and third times, the meat dipping soba had a very light flavor. Even after adding 10 shakes of pepper and 5 shakes of shichimi togarashi, it was still too bland. The seasoning was not to my liking, but the second and third times were still too light. Other people eating around me also seemed anxious and looked around while eating, rather than enjoying their meal. The noodles were overcooked this time, very hard with no elasticity. Last time the noodles were good though. It seems like there is inconsistency in the taste. The condiments on the table didn't seem clean, and it's disappointing. None of the restaurants in Akabane have clean condiments. It's quite a contrast compared to restaurants in the city center. The owner is quiet and intimidating, but seemed kind when I talked to him during payment. Maybe he's just an old-fashioned, awkward person.

Mixed Meat Noodles for 1,100 yen. Around 11:30 am on weekdays, there were 2 people waiting outside. It took 10 minutes from lining up to getting the bowl, and only 2 to 3 minutes from ordering. The amount of meat was no joke, from tender pieces to chewy ones, it was a lot. Half portion would have been enough. The soup with bonito flakes aroma paired with chewy thick noodles was a well-balanced and hearty bowl. You can add up to 3 servings of chopped onions for free, so I went all out. I was expecting a spicy atmosphere based on reviews, but it was not like that at all. The owner was very friendly. I hope this kind of shop continues for a long time. Be aware that the business hours are very short.

Today I visited Akabane for my regular visit, and it's really hot. My target was Takahashi-san. It's 38 degrees, so I might need to buy a parasol. I arrived around 12:30. There was one person in line, and the inside of the restaurant could seat around 6-7 people. I decided to go for the meat dipping noodles for 1,050 yen as it was listed on the menu outside. After waiting for about 5 minutes, I was able to enter the restaurant. I sat at an empty seat and placed my order. There were chopped onions and fish powder on the counter. If you use a lot, it's recommended to make a donation at the cash box by the entrance. After waiting for about 5 minutes, my order arrived. It was a fish powder-based dipping noodles. The noodles looked smooth and delicious. I took a bite of the noodles dipped in the soup. It was a bit light in flavor. I added some chopped onions and fish powder, and it became a bit richer. The soup was quite different from what I expected, with a unique taste. It was refreshing with a mild acidity, not too strong in flavor, and not too salty. The simmered pork chashu had a good texture, juicy, and well-seasoned. The bamboo shoots didn't stand out much. The chopped onions had a strong sweetness, which I liked. Overall, I felt that this long-established restaurant has its own unique style. It may vary depending on personal preference. It's refreshing, and I feel like it could become addictive if I keep going back. The regular customers behind me were also talking about it. I might visit a few more times to see how it goes.

I visited the restaurant alone for lunch. I was able to enter smoothly without waiting as there were only 2-3 people ahead of me. It was my first time, so I wasn't sure about the portion size and ordered the mixed meat noodles. When it arrived, I was surprised by the large amount of meat piled on top of the ramen. The noodles were medium-thick. The two types of tender char siu, when soaked in the soup, became even softer and juicier as the fat blended in. The soup had a light taste with a strong umami flavor from seafood. The generous portion was manageable thanks to the delicious soup. The restaurant only has a counter and there are a few rules like no smartphone use. The owner was quiet but had a kind atmosphere. I plan to visit again.

In June 2023, on a Thursday at 5:00 PM, I arrived at the restaurant with no waiting time before opening. I decided to step away and have a coffee at 5:15 PM. When I returned, there was a line, but I was third in line at 5:20 PM. The restaurant opened, and I ordered ramen for 700 yen and a bottle of beer for around 550 yen. The 6-seat counter was full, and there were people waiting outside. The food was delicious, and I felt a sense of comfort and consistency in its taste. They offered free chopped onions up to three spoonfuls, and I managed to scoop up a big piece of onion! It's a simple pleasure that makes me want to come back regularly, even though I can only visit occasionally. Looking forward to a long-lasting relationship with this place.

I visited at exactly 1:00 PM and found two people waiting in line. While waiting, I read reviews on Tabelog and it seemed like they close at 1:00 PM. Unfortunately, I was towards the end of the line and they had closed by the time I got to order. The appearance of the food looked amazing, but it wasn't to my taste. The soup felt a bit thin and the chashu, while plentiful, was a bit tough. The person next to me ordered ramen instead of tsukemen and seemed to enjoy the soup more.

This time it's Akabane. Among the popular and high-rated ramen shops in the area, there is a shop called Takahashi that gives off the impression of being a place for ramen enthusiasts with high standards. I visited this place and although there was a short wait for one person, I was able to be seated quickly. I ordered the Mixed Meat Noodles for 1100 yen. The shop owner seems like a true craftsman. The noodles arrived and they were medium-thick straight noodles with a chewy texture and bounce. They were smooth and delicious with a satisfying amount. Next, the soup. It had a rich seafood flavor, plenty of it, juicy and sharp. Adding fish powder enhanced the flavor and aroma even more. It was great. As for the toppings, the bamboo shoots were tasty, and adding the diced onions from the table brought a mellow and crunchy taste to the soup. The chashu consisted of 3 thick slices of pork loin that were flavorful and delicious. Additionally, there were 5 slices of pork belly which had more fat and were slightly firm. With a total of 8 slices, it provided a substantial eating experience. In conclusion, the ramen shop offers a seafood-based soup that is clear and not too thick, paired with chewy noodles. It also includes a generous amount of chashu, making it a ramen shop for ramen enthusiasts. I recommend visiting Akabane for this delicious ramen experience. Ramen is truly a delicious dish. That's all for now. I have switched to Ameblo. https://ameblo.jp/yokohama-rameo

On Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 5:25 PM, the restaurant was full with one person waiting. It has a counter with 6 seats, where you order orally. The staff handles cooking, dishwashing, and cashier duties alone. The signature dish is the half-mixed meat noodles for 950 yen. Customers often order this option, which includes thick slices of both lean and fatty pork chashu that are equally delicious. Even ordering a half portion provides a satisfying amount of food. The soup has a strong fish flavor, and the medium-thick noodles have a chewy texture. The addition of raw onions as a topping complements the dish well. While the restaurant is popular, the ambiance did not leave a significant impression to warrant excessive praise.

Second visit. First time I ordered MIX ramen and second time I ordered meat tsukemen. I had high expectations because the ramen was delicious the first time, but the tsukemen was bland and unsatisfying. I noticed that I wasn't the only one, as the person next to me was also generously adding pepper. The cups and condiments were not very clean, so it's not really female-friendly. It's a very Akabane-like restaurant, for better or for worse. But I like the atmosphere, so I will go back again.

Lucky that there was no line during work on Saturday! The fish powder wasn't needed, the char siu and menma were excellent, and the noodles and soup were delicious. I want to try the tsukemen next time. I will definitely come back to eat here again. Sake: not sure, Atmosphere: good, Staff: average, Cost: reasonable
