The Green Curry Soba at the popular Bassanova in Shin-Okubo, Tokyo, is now also available at their Kyoto branch. The soup is mild and creamy, with a rich flavor. It has a gentle taste with less spice like curry, and the delicious chicken flavor is amazing. Toppings include thinly sliced bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, diced onions, and watercress. The interior of the store is clean, and the friendly manager provides kind and attentive service. Next time, I will challenge the Tom Yum Kung Ramen. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Many people are hooked ❤️ If you love green curry, you must try it‼️‼️【BASSANOVA Kyoto】@bassanova_kyoto 259-1 Shikibu-cho, Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, Boat Building 1F ▶︎Green Curry Ramen Even celebrities are hooked! BASSANOBA in Harajuku, Tokyo has opened in Kyoto♡ I was worried if the taste would be too strong, but it was delicious from the first bite. The person at the next table was also enjoying it saying "delicious delicious"! This is a taste that everyone will love✨ The noodles have a good firmness and are chewy, the soup is rich and creamy with coconut cream, mild and flavorful♡ The chashu is thick with a surprising softness and elasticity♡ I really love this ramen. It seems you can turn the soup into risotto by adding rice if you have leftovers (I should have done that... regret). Next time, I'll try the Tom Yum Kung Ramen♡ It's a unique Asian ramen, but you can enjoy rare and incredibly delicious flavors, so be sure to give it a try(^ ^)

Green curry ramen for 1200 yen. I came here to try out the curry ramen from the east. When it comes to Thai-style ramen, I usually think of "Sham" in Omiya to the west. This time I tried the green curry flavor. If it's delicious, I plan to try out the other flavors as well. The curly noodles were served with chicken chashu, arugula, baby leaf mix, wood ear mushrooms, and shredded red chili peppers. As for the taste, it was a hybrid soup leaning more towards Japanese ramen than traditional green curry. It has a unique taste compared to others. It may not be satisfying for Thai food lovers, but it's easy to eat for those who are not big fans. Personally, I quite liked the combination of the soup with the curly noodles. The wood ear mushrooms had a unique tangy flavor that you don't see often in other places. The interior design of the restaurant is quite feminine, so it might be a bit overwhelming for older men (laughs). They also serve alcohol and snacks, and they are open all day, so you can use it however you like. Men need to serve themselves water.

Located in a shop hidden behind the vibrant orange sign of the Teramachi shopping street, this ramen shop hails all the way from Tokyo, with this Kyoto branch being its third after two in Tokyo. The shop, which opened in July, boasts a stylish interior with a color scheme of silver and navy, and plays trendy music. I ordered the Green Curry Ramen for 1200 yen from the ticket machine at the entrance. The noodles are boiled in bubbling water, and you can hear the sound of them being drained in a sieve. The dish arrives, and it looks delicious! The noodles are curly and have a chewy texture. The soup appears thick, but it is actually a spicy yet mellow green curry. It has a rich depth of flavor, possibly from using dashi stock. The chashu pork is large and thick, almost like braised pork, providing a satisfying bite. I couldn't help but keep saying how delicious it was, which made the staff smile. I felt full after the regular size, but I could have easily eaten a large! The staff is friendly and easy to talk to in a casual manner. Make sure to wear the paper apron provided, as I learned the hard way with my white shirt (they offer it at the beginning). Although I was tempted by the Tom Yum Kung Ramen and the pink Beet Ramen on the menu, I am glad I chose this one! I am curious about trying the Cold Green Curry next time. Opening hours are from 11:00 to 22:00, with the last order at 21:00. Closed on Wednesdays. There are 6 tables and 9 counter seats.

Monday 18:20 Bassanova Kyoto Store A new store in Teramachi shopping street. Opposite to Sundrug. Two male customers in front of me. As I entered, one of them left. Right away, there was a ticket machine. The majority of seating is at the counter, so dining alone is fine. I chose the most orthodox option for now. There were sesame seeds and vinegar on the table. Self-service water. When I tried to hand over the food ticket, I was told to keep it. It seemed like the order was automatically processed? I put away the food ticket in my wallet and sat at a table in the back. "Sorry to keep you waiting, here's the Laksa" (even though I was the only customer, a different dish was brought out). I looked towards the kitchen and another staff member realized the mistake, "Oh, you ordered the Green Curry, right?". I thought it might be a hassle to make it again, so I said, "This is fine," but they brought me the Green Curry. And then the food ticket was collected again. Around 18:31, the Green Curry Ramen arrived. It had a complex umami flavor with lots of spices. The taste was mellow with hardly any spiciness. Priced starting from 1,200 yen. I might try the Cheese Risotto next time (+400 yen), but it seems a bit pricey. I will definitely visit again, thank you for the meal. Thursday 20:30 One group of customers. Two female customers. I sat at the counter in the front. Laksa Ramen 1,300 yen. I wondered if I could eat it from start to finish as it was rich and had a coconut-based soup. It was smooth with no sharpness. The acidity of the menma was the accent. It was delicious too. It was a ramen that was even more mild and rich than the image of Laksa. Thursday 18:45 The orientation of the ticket machine had changed. One group of customers, two female customers. Tom Yum Kung Ramen 1,200 yen. At 18:55, the ramen arrived. Creamy in appearance, I could see something like a meatball. I expected spiciness and acidity as I tasted it, but it had a mellow flavor characteristic of Bassanova. It had a rich finish, with no particularly sharp seasoning. Being the third one I tried, my expectations were the lowest, but I quite liked the result. Next time, I want to try the cold versions of each. Thank you for the meal.

Laksa Ramen for 1300 yen (tax included) caught my eye on Instagram, and I was thrilled to find out that there's a place serving Laksa! However, it seems like it might be hard for people who don't know about it to find the place, and even if they do, it might take some courage to go in... I wish there was an easier way to discover it. The owner(?) was really friendly and asked if I was on a break, so we had a little chat. When I mentioned that I wanted to eat Laksa, they said they do have some variations. Even so, I was totally fine with it! When the ramen arrived, the soup tasted just like Laksa! (tears of joy) However, the noodles were more like ramen noodles, and the soup was a bit thicker compared to what I had abroad. I think this place is unique for serving this kind of ramen, and that's really great. But it might be a bit pricey for everyday use. They also had some ethnic side dishes, so I thought it could be interesting for a casual drink.

It was hot, so I had a cold green curry with extra large portion (maybe on a different day?). The soup was chilled and had a subtle seafood flavor, and the grilled chicken char siu was delicious. The added cheese risotto was a great choice as it was grilled in the remaining soup, allowing me to enjoy the curry until the last bite. Even though it was a bit more expensive than regular rice, I highly recommend trying the cheese risotto with grilled cheese.

Bassanova in Sanjo Teramachi. I ordered the Green Curry Ramen and a Belgian beer. The total was 1900 yen. The soup was a bit salty, with a familiar taste of Inaba. It reminded me of a shop in Tokyo. The curly noodles were good, and the finely chopped red onions were a nice touch. The slices of roast chicken were tasty. The Belgian beer, similar to Hoegaarden, was delicious.

Recently opened and constantly flowing through social media with posts from customers, I decided to try it out for the second time (the first time it was closed on Wednesdays). The restaurant is open all day, so as long as you avoid the regular closing day, it's very convenient to visit! Today, I arrived around 4 o'clock during a quiet time between lunch and dinner. Inside the restaurant, there was a ticket machine. I chose the default option, the "Green Curry Ramen" (1200 yen). I later found out that rice was also available, and if you scroll through the ticket machine screen, you can add it for an additional 200 yen. The price may reflect the location to some extent. However, the Green Curry Ramen was delicious, with a fantastic harmony between the curry soup, noodles, and toppings! The chicken chashu, wood ear mushrooms, and bamboo shoots were all well-balanced. I felt a hint of Japanese-style broth, possibly made from seafood, adding to the overall flavor. The Japanese influence was particularly strong when I mixed in the rice at the end, enjoying it as curry rice. The taste was like having ramen made with green curry, but the precise balance made it a delicious bowl. Next time, I would like to try the Tom Yum Kung! Thank you for the meal.

Our store is a popular ethnic ramen shop with locations in Tokyo's Nishida and Harajuku, and now we have opened our first store in Kyoto at Teramachi Kyogoku Shopping Street! Our menu includes Green Curry Ramen, Tom Yum Kung Ramen, and Sakura Ramen, with options for cold and vegan versions. One of our recommended dishes is the Green Curry Ramen (1200 yen), which combines a Japanese-style broth made with dried bonito, kombu, dried sardines, and domestic dried shiitake mushrooms, with organic soy milk and homemade green curry paste made from 11 different spices. Toppings include tender chicken chashu cooked at low temperature, bamboo shoots, mixed greens, and purple onions, creating a colorful dish. The flavor is initially spicy and ethnic, followed by the umami of the Japanese broth. The custom curly noodles also absorb the soup well. It's a fusion of ethnic and Japanese flavors. We are open all day, making it convenient for everyone.

I visited the restaurant on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, during lunchtime. There were 2 customers already seated when I arrived. As I was leaving after finishing my meal, I passed by a group of 5 people who seemed to recognize the place. It's apparently famous in Tokyo, although I don't know the details. The restaurant operates with a ticket machine system, and I ordered the green curry ramen. I sat at an available table and helped myself to water. The ramen was served in about 5 minutes, featuring a rich green curry soup with wavy noodles. I added some sesame seeds from the condiment tray and finished the meal. It was a unique and satisfying experience.

I visited this newly opened restaurant on July 1st after work. I parked my car at a nearby coin parking and purchased a ticket for "Laksa Ramen" (1,300 yen) from the ticket machine. The bowl was topped with shredded bamboo shoots, cherry tomatoes, wood ear mushrooms, chopped onions, shrimp, and watercress. The soup seemed to be a coconut curry base with a hint of spice, rich and creamy with a deep flavor. The shrimp aroma was present but not overpowering, and the soup had a mild spiciness. The noodles were medium-thick curly noodles that paired well with the thick soup. The shrimp was firm and juicy, complemented by the crunchy texture of the onions and wood ear mushrooms. Instead of cilantro commonly used in curry, watercress added a Japanese touch to the spicy and delicious ramen.

Today, I visited a ramen restaurant that recently opened in Teramachi Shopping Street. ■ Green Curry Soba BASSANOVA This ramen shop is known for its ethnic-style curry ramen. They have locations in Shin-Okubo and Harajuku in Tokyo, and they recently expanded to Kyoto, with the grand opening scheduled for July 1, 2023. I visited during the pre-opening period starting from June 29th. At the entrance of the restaurant, there was a ticket machine. The regular size ramen starts from 1,200 yen, while the half-size is from 1,000 yen. The signature menu seems to be the Green Curry Ramen. The recommended way to enjoy it is to follow up the Green Curry Ramen with Cheese Risotto. ● Green Curry Ramen This ramen features green curry soup with toppings such as greens, wood ear mushrooms, bamboo shoots, seared chicken, and shredded red chili. Starting with the soup, it combines the flavors of green curry with the umami of Japanese dashi, resulting in a creamy and slightly spicy soup. When the soup coats the curly noodles, it creates the perfect level of spiciness. The noodles have a strong wheat flavor and are delicious. The seared chicken adds a fragrant touch that complements the soup well. The combination of curry ramen with wood ear mushrooms felt unique, and the crunchy texture of bamboo shoots and finely chopped onions was impressive. It's a ramen that allows you to enjoy various textures. After finishing the noodles and leaving some chicken, I ordered the additional Cheese Risotto. ● Cheese Risotto I handed the remaining soup bowl to the staff, who then added rice and cheese, and torched it. The melted cheese mixed with the rice and green curry created a delightful combination. The rice, cheese, and green curry blended perfectly, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Overall, this ramen shop offers a slightly unconventional ethnic-style ramen, but with the addition of the Cheese Risotto, it becomes quite addictive.
