"Gion Kawadzu" has been relocated on March 2nd and reopened as a tempura restaurant. Located on Shinmonzen-dori in Gion, quite far north in Gion. It is not a street where tourists casually walk around, but a quiet street for regular visitors. The number of seats has been reduced compared to before the relocation, with only a counter. The system allows all customers who visit to feel like regulars. After eating four dishes such as shrimp and seasonal vegetables, you are free to choose. The owner's biggest commitment this time is to have customers enjoy tempura a la carte. The top shrimp comes out first with a bang. Each ingredient is larger than you think in the Kawadzu style. You can choose between salt or tempura sauce, but I prefer all salt. I want to enjoy the crispy, crunchy, and fluffy texture. Even though they offer a la carte, I, who come with an empty stomach, end up eating all the ingredients. But it's fun to point and ask for this and that while listening to stories about seasonal ingredients. That's why in Gion, it's very convenient to be able to adjust your stay time on your own thanks to the a la carte menu. I often end up lingering because I get caught by the owner (laughs).
