Yakiniku Like, which has stores in Osaka and Tokyo, has opened its first store in Kyoto, Kawaramachi. The interior of the restaurant has a row of counter seats for solo diners, resembling the sleeping place of eels, and there are also a few table seats towards the back. Upon being seated, the staff explained the ordering process, which is self-service. Customers order and pay for their meals themselves, and the food is picked up at the counter behind the cooking area.
I ordered the Tan, Shokuniku Kalbi, Harami set, which includes three types of meat, rice, soup, and kimchi. The Shokuniku Kalbi was tender, with the fat melting in the mouth without being greasy. It was not heavy and did not cause heartburn. The Harami was also tender, without any unpleasant smell. However, the Tan had a slight smell and seemed a bit overpriced for what it was. I also ordered additional items like Misuji, Hormone, and a set of egg over rice as a finishing touch. All the meat was tender and delicious, without any unpleasant smell.
Since all orders are picked up on trays, it's important to return the first tray to the return counter before ordering additional items, as the trays do not fit on the table. The menu is somewhat limited, with a lack of options like roast beef. The drinks seemed a bit pricey, with beer priced at 480 yen and highball at 350 yen. Payment can be made in cash or credit card. Also, you don't need to return the dishes to the return counter at the end of the meal if you're seated at a table.
This is a great place for solo diners who want to enjoy meat! I will definitely visit again, maybe to try the curry next time! Thank you for the meal!
