I ordered charcoal-grilled chicken wings for 242 yen, grilled chicken skin for 220 yen, grilled chicken cartilage for 242 yen, grilled chicken tail for 220 yen, moon-viewing meatballs for 253 yen, and fried chicken tail for 550 yen. I didn't order that many drinks, but it was more expensive than I expected. The salt on the salt-based skewers may have been a bit too much.

I didn't have much time to enjoy gourmet food, but I wanted to have a light drink at an izakaya. However, many restaurants in Kyoto have limited holiday hours and I didn't make a reservation, so I was turned away from several places. Finally, I managed to get into a yakitori chain restaurant. Even though I came to Kyoto, I ended up at Yokohama Tenkatori (laughs). Oh well. I didn't have high expectations, but we all had a few drinks and tried a variety of dishes. It was cheap, and there wasn't that typical bad meat flavor, it was crispy and delicious. Better than I expected. The beer went down smoothly. There were a few dishes where I felt like they used too much seasoning, but overall, just being able to get into a restaurant was good enough.

Today, I went out for drinks with my coworkers at a yakitori restaurant called Yokohama Tenkadori Karasuma Gojo. It seems like they specialize in chicken dishes, as indicated by the table mats. We ordered a yakitori platter with negima, sabi-yaki, bonbochi, neck, tebasaki, and asparagus rolls, all of which were delicious. We also ordered other dishes like tako wasa, potato salad, and fried chicken cartilage. More people joined us later on and we ordered more yakitori and side dishes. We had a great time chatting and laughing until the last train.

■Visit Date: October 3, 2012 ■Items Received: Yakitori, Tsukune, and others ■MEMO I visited the restaurant on October 3, 2012. It is located on the east side of Karasuma Gojo. It is a cozy and comfortable place of a moderate size. I visited with my colleagues from work on this day. We focused on enjoying drinks and having a good time rather than talking about work. We toasted with beer and enjoyed delicious yakitori. The tsukune in the photo was also delicious. It was a night of indulging in delicious food until we were full.

This name already sounds like a winner, it gets you excited, and the yakitori is big and juicy.

Visited on the evening of March 27, 2012 (Tuesday) around 9:15 pm. There were 9 customers already seated, with no one waiting in line. The entrance had a register on the right side, with the kitchen right next to it. In front of the kitchen, there were 6 counter seats, and to the left, there was a raised seating area for 6 people. The raised seating area near the entrance was visible from outside, which may not be very relaxing. The restroom was located on the left side towards the back, and the seating area straight ahead required shoes to be removed before entering. There were tables for 4 and 2 people, as well as a counter with 4 seats towards the back right side. The restaurant was run by a male owner and two part-time staff members. I decided to visit this restaurant out of curiosity as it had received 6 reviews but was now unrated due to changes in the scoring system in March 2012. The scoring system no longer applied to restaurants with less than 300 reviews, and for those with over 300 reviews, if the score was below 3 points, they would also be unrated. I ordered 2 servings of hot sake and the 5-skewer course for 920 yen. The complimentary appetizers included grated radish and cabbage pickled in shiso leaves. The prices were around 315 yen. It was a rare service to offer free refills. The yakitori skewers were a bit pricey per piece, but they were generously sized. There was no restriction on the number of skewers you could order. The owner mentioned that the recommended menu items were original to the restaurant, while the yakitori skewers were sourced from the headquarters. I also tried the "Chunky Potato Salad," which had whole chunks of potatoes for a satisfying texture. The yakitori was decent, but nothing particularly outstanding in terms of taste. I preferred the original dishes on the menu. When I mentioned writing a review on Tabelog, the owner seemed reluctant. He explained that one-sided reviews often fail to convey the restaurant's perspective. Even if I wanted to give a good rating, he asked for an honest opinion. Nonetheless, I decided to give this restaurant a rating of 3.5 just to see the outcome. I revisited on the evening of March 29, 2012 (Thursday) around 9:10 pm. With another busy week at work, I chose to dine at this nearby restaurant again. The place was almost full this time. Opted for the 5-skewer course again, and the male staff member informed me that they were out of enoki mushroom skewers, allowing me to choose any other skewer instead. I chose the chicken skin skewer. I appreciated the attentive service. I will definitely visit this restaurant again in the future.

The restaurant has 10 counter seats and 2-3 tatami rooms, with a total capacity of about 15 people. It was almost full even on a weekday, so I sat at the counter. The staff were energetic and the drinks (alcohol) came quickly. The yakitori menu was extensive and the taste was good. I ordered liver and was asked if I wanted it half-cooked, which was delicious. Overall, everything I ordered was tasty. The only downside was that the seats felt a bit cramped and lacked a relaxed atmosphere, but I would still recommend this delicious yakitori restaurant.

Yesterday, I went to a drinking party with my colleagues at a chain restaurant near the office. I didn't know it was a chain, but the yakitori course we ordered was delicious and the place had a clean atmosphere. The price was reasonable and each skewer had a good amount of food on it. I wish they used firmer chicken, though. I've been drinking so much lately, maybe it's time to take a break. Goodbye.

This shop is close to my house and I often go there. The interior is small with 5 counter seats, 2 tables, and a few other seats. I love meat and rice! I can eat three extra-large servings of rice. The yakitori and other dishes here go really well with the rice. Among them, the garlic stir-fried gizzards and the bonjiri karaage (fried chicken) are the best matches for rice. Lately, I got the manager's phone number and now I call ahead to ask about the rice portion before going. The manager recognizes me and sometimes even gives me some extra service! He is a very friendly person. Please try going there at least once! (^O^)/

A small restaurant located between two high-rise condos. The interior is cramped but has a lot of regular customers. I fell in love with the manager's personality after visiting a few times, and eventually became a regular myself. The food is all delicious! I highly recommend the bonito tataki. I order it every time without fail. Despite being a chain restaurant, the staff and customers are so close that you can easily dine alone. I recently moved away, but I still make sure to visit every two months. The manager is the best!! I will definitely go back to eat there again. ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

After being shaken by Hankyu from Sannomiya and returning home, I found myself getting hungry. I decided to take a different route home and got off at Karasuma. As I walked down Karasuma, I couldn't find any particular restaurant until I passed Manjuji. Then I saw the lights of a restaurant and decided to go in. I sat at the counter and ordered a lemon chu-hi. Without much thought, I also ordered a platter of 5 assorted yakitori. The appetizer was grated daikon radish and a unique cabbage pickled dish. The yakitori arrived quickly, and I was a bit skeptical if they were cooked properly. The skewers included chicken wings, negima (chicken and leek), tsukune (chicken meatballs), enoki wrapped in bacon, and miso-grilled chicken breast. The portions were generous but the price was a bit high. The seasoning was quite strong, which was a bit too much for my taste, but it paired well with the alcohol. The chicken wings were juicy and delicious, and the miso-grilled chicken breast was unique. I realized I hadn't tried chicken neck today, so I ordered one (after confirming there were no restrictions) along with a grilled rice ball and a Kanto-style oolong highball to finish off the meal.

I occasionally go there, and even though the restaurant is not that big, it has around 10 tatami seats, 4 tables, and about 10 counter seats. Even on weekdays, it gets crowded during meal times, which I find impressive. They have a wide variety of yakitori options, as well as side dishes, and even set menus, making it convenient. The portion size of the yakitori is quite generous, and since they are mainly seasoned with salt, they are easy to eat. It seems like they use fresh chicken, as they also offer sashimi. One dish I highly recommend is the liver skewer! It's half-cooked, and when you bite into it, the liver melts in your mouth, making it addictive.

This is a restaurant specializing in yakitori and chicken dishes. They use fresh chicken, and the sasami sashimi is very beautiful and goes well with wasabi. The salad has teriyaki chicken on top and is served with mayonnaise dressing. The most recommended yakitori skewer is the shiitake mushroom stuffed with meat. It is a popular menu item that may sell out quickly if you come later in the day.

I stopped by after work. The garlic skewers were delicious. It was great to be able to eat garlic since I had the next day off haha. There aren't many seats, so I recommend going early if you visit on a Friday.
