I visited the popular tsukemen restaurant Menya Shokkyo. I arrived at 10:50 am on a weekday and there were already 5 people ahead of me in line. Despite the wait, the service was efficient and I was seated by 11:20 am. I ordered the Special Tsukemen with 200g of noodles for 1,500 yen. The noodles were thick and firm, with a smooth texture. The soup was rich and flavorful, made with a blend of pork, chicken, and five types of seafood. The toppings of green onions, chopped onions, and yuzu peel added extra depth to the dish. The char siu on a separate plate included three types, each bursting with savory flavor. The meal was delicious from start to finish, especially when mixed with the provided rice, mitsuba, and char siu at the end. It was a true culinary experience showcasing the skill of the chef. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be back!

I arrived at the restaurant on a weekday (Monday) at 2:10 pm, as there is always a long line. To my surprise, there were more than 10 people in line, with over half of them being overseas visitors. It seems like the restaurant was featured in some guidebook, as I found out when I asked. You can buy a meal ticket at the ticket machine located outside once you reach the front of the line, and the staff will collect it from a small window. It took about 30 minutes to reach the ticket machine, and the ventilation was not great. The overseas visitors seemed to be struggling. After passing the ticket machine, there were benches where you could sit and wait. The lunch service ended at 2:40 pm, and I couldn't help but feel hungry as it was taking so long. Finally, at exactly 3:00 pm, my number was called. I sat down and immediately ordered a beer and the special dipping noodles. The beer was good, but I wished they had larger bottles. The dipping noodles were delicious, and they came with three types of condiments for the soup. It was so good that I forgot to take a picture before eating. The slow progress was due to the overseas visitors who were not used to using chopsticks. It felt like a purge of Space Noids had begun, as those who couldn't handle the gravity were leaving. Be careful, my friends, if you are not a Newtype!

Located just a 3-minute walk from JR Shinbashi Station Uchisai-guchi, "Menya Shuko" is a popular restaurant that specializes in tsukemen. The menu is simple, offering only tsukemen, but the restaurant is always crowded with customers. "Menya Shuko" opened in June 2021, and was previously known as "Menya Kotobuki" in Koiwa.
[Order]
Special Tsukemen - 1500 yen
[Noodles]
Sugano Seimenjo, medium thick noodles
Made with 100% wheat from Fukuoka Prefecture, these medium thick noodles are easy to eat as they are cut shorter. They are chewy and delicious.
[Soup]
Made by boiling pork, chicken, and seafood in a large pressure cooker, the soup is incredibly rich without any off-flavors. Although it is thick and the bones are completely dissolved through pressure cooking, no lard or fat is used, making it both rich and healthy.
[Toppings]
Served on a separate plate are slices of chashu and menma. The chashu comes in three varieties: belly pork marinated in soy sauce, moist chicken chashu (a favorite among women), and shoulder loin smoked for a long time for a flavorful taste. I personally enjoyed the chicken chashu the most.
Finally, they serve a "special ending" dish. In tsukemen restaurants, they often offer soup-wari (diluting the leftover soup with broth), but at "Shuko," the soup-wari comes with toppings. The toppings for the special ending dish vary daily, and on this day, it included red onions, chashu scraps, and yukari rice. It felt like enjoying a full course meal in one bowl.
Today's 3rd meal, 81st of the year. Thank you for the delicious meal. 19 bowls left.

Around 10:30 am on Sunday, no one was lined up yet, but a line quickly formed. I ordered the medium-sized boiled egg dipping noodles. As other reviews mentioned, it was quite rich. Despite its richness, the chopped onions and yuzu added a nice accent, and the slightly thin noodles made it easy to eat without getting tired or bored. It seems like having a separate serving of char siu is a trend now, and thanks to that, I could taste the char siu directly, which was delicious.

In a bar, there is a tsukemen shop at the back. Around 7 pm, you can see people waiting. The shop has a small number of seats, so turnover is slow. If there are more than 10 people, you might have to wait a while. I ordered the special tsukemen, which had thick noodles and rich soup that matched well. There were some reviews mentioning a powdery taste, but I didn't find it to be a problem. When you order a soup refill, you also get a small portion of umeboshi rice in a condiment dish.

I arrived 15 minutes before the 17:00 opening on Friday, and there was no wait. It was a different story when I left around 17:20, as there was a line of over 10 people. I visited to satisfy my craving for rich tsukemen and ordered a large serving without hesitation. The carefully prepared dipping sauce paired perfectly with the thick noodles, making it incredibly delicious. I forgot to take a photo, but when you order the soup refill, you also get small pieces of meat and a bite of rice as a bonus. From start to finish, it was a delightful experience and I left very satisfied. Thank you for the meal! I will definitely visit again!

Tsukemen costs 1,100 yen. You can choose from three sizes: small, medium, and large. I arrived at noon and had to wait for about 10 people in line before I could enter the restaurant, which took about 50 minutes. The tsukemen itself had a rich soup with smooth noodles. The presentation of the noodles was also very neat. The toppings were served separately, with three types of chashu and two types of menma, which added to the overall satisfaction. When I ordered soup wari, they also included korochaa, negi, and a little bit of yukari rice, which was a nice touch. It was a very meticulous tsukemen shop.

Shinbashi's famous tsukemen noodle shop, Menya Shuko, which is considered one of the top two in the area, made its debut recently. The shop was featured on a popular TV show, causing a line of 7 customers even 15 minutes before opening. The shop has a small counter with 5 seats, operating on a 5-person rotation system. Customers choose their meal from a ticket machine outside, with options like the "Special Tsukemen (1,500 yen)" with customizable noodle portion sizes. The special tsukemen features a rich fish and pork bone broth with shiny, smooth noodles that have a great texture. The dish also includes three types of delicious homemade char siu. Visited this restaurant for the first time for Sunday lunch after seeing it featured on TV recently. I arrived 30 minutes before opening to secure a seat on the first round. The reviews mentioned that the seating is limited (5 seats) and turnover is slow, so I wanted to make sure I got in early. Luckily, I managed to get in on the first round. There were about 30 people in line before opening and around 50 by the time I left, so coming early was definitely the right decision. Some reviews mentioned that even the large portion (250g) might be small, so I ordered the dipping noodles with an extra 100g of noodles. I handed in my ticket before opening and was seated right away, receiving my food in about 10 minutes. The amount of toppings was surprisingly generous for the default option. The extra noodles also came with extra dipping sauce, which was a nice touch. The 350g of noodles was just the right amount. The dipping sauce was rich and delicious. The noodles were thinner than I usually prefer, but they matched well with the sauce. There were about 6 different toppings, including seaweed. While there were 3 types of chashu, I felt like a bit more variety would have been even better. I also ordered a soup refresher, which came with bonito, trefoil, and rice, all of which were tasty. Overall, it was a delightful meal.

I understand why the creator wanted to make this tsukemen. As others have mentioned, the soup is a bit powdery and the noodles have a unique texture, but I think it's all intentional. The soup is not powdery, but rather has a rough and powerful taste with a gentle citrusy touch, which I like. The noodles complement the soup well with their unique texture. However, the toppings were a bit disappointing. The flavored egg could use a bit less cooking time and less marination (it was too salty). The meats, except for the chicken breast, were also too salty. It's important to be careful with seasoning, especially during hot days when you're tired and sweating a lot, as dishes can end up being too salty. I would like to revisit when it cools down a bit, as the chefs' dedication and effort really came through in the meal. It was a satisfying dining experience. Thank you.

I went on a weekday night, but there was already a line. Despite it being summer, I waited for about an hour and a half, but once seated, my bowl arrived quickly. The soup was thick and rich, yet not heavy, which was impressive. The noodles were custom-made thick noodles from Kanou Seimen, and they were delicious even on their own. The chashu pork was excellent, but the standout was the bamboo shoot and yuba. For dessert, they served a tea rice porridge with mixed grains in bite-sized portions, which left me satisfied until the end.

Special dipping noodles (1,500 yen) - I visited this place for the first time as a way to finish off a night of drinking. It was past 9 PM and I was probably around the 10th in line. It took about an hour for my order to arrive as the turnover was slow, possibly due to a group of foreigners. After me, a few more people lined up but they were all told that it was the last order for the day, so I ended up being the last one. This was a new experience for me. I ordered the special dipping noodles. You could choose the amount of noodles, and I think I went for the large serving. The noodles were thick and straight, with a chewy texture that was delicious. The dipping sauce was extremely rich, a blend of pork bone and seafood flavors that was unique compared to what I've had before. It coated the noodles well and had a salty deliciousness to it. The chashu was a bit different from my preference. I finished off with soup refills, and the attention to detail with the condiments and shiso rice was impressive. Of course, I finished every last drop and it was a satisfying meal!

Today, I was in Shinbashi and decided to explore some of the delicious restaurants there. I came across a highly rated and well-reviewed tsukemen place. I decided to try their special tsukemen large size. When I arrived at the restaurant around 6 pm, there was already a line of about 10 people. I waited for about 30 minutes. The noodles were served beautifully and I got excited. The noodles were delicious and the soup had a creamy texture. The toppings that came with it were also perfect. It was really tasty! However, I still think there might be a tsukemen place that surpasses this one that I haven't discovered yet. If anyone knows, please let me know!

I visited Shukyo, a famous restaurant for rich tsukemen located quietly in the drinking district of Shinbashi in the office district of Tokyo. They are known for their special tsukemen noodles, specially made by Kanoshoimen. The soup is also cooked at 130 degrees, a soup with a lot of dedication. I arrived a bit late due to a funny encounter with a police officer on the way. The atmosphere while waiting was a bit unpleasant, but once inside, the seating was spacious and comfortable. The tsukemen arrived, but the portion seemed a bit small for the price. The noodles were not as firm and flavorful as expected, and the dipping sauce was slightly sweet with a fish and pork bone base. The special toppings were delicious, but the overall experience was a bit underwhelming. It might be worth a visit for some, but others may prefer a larger portion. The staff was very polite and attentive. Overall, the cost performance was mediocre.

Taste: Very delicious
Portion: Normal
Memorable dish: Tsukemen
Menu: Normal
Atmosphere: Normal
Cost performance: Okay
Crowdedness: Quite crowded, turnover rate is quite slow
Customer service: Normal
Likelihood of revisiting: Will go again
There are only five seats in the restaurant, so the turnover rate is slow, but once you enter the restaurant, the order is served quite quickly. The prices are a bit high, but the toppings are plentiful, so the cost performance is not bad.
The tsukemen noodles are medium thick and easy to eat with a good texture. The dipping sauce is a rich fish and pork bone broth that is thick and coats the noodles well. The fish flavor is stronger, but both flavors are distinct and very delicious. The soup also contains yuzu and chopped onions, allowing for flavor variation.
The toppings include three types of chashu, menma, and thinly sliced bamboo shoots with tender yuba. The bamboo shoots with yuba have a unique texture that is both soft and slightly crunchy, and very delicious. The menma is well seasoned and tasty.
The chashu consists of seared pork belly, shoulder loin, and chicken chashu. The pork belly is nicely crispy and delicious, the shoulder loin has a strong flavor and is very tasty, and the chicken chashu is moist and has a simple yet delicious taste.
When you order the final soup refill, it comes with chashu, mitsuba, and shiso rice in small portions. The soup is mixed with clam dashi, enhancing the seafood flavor, and is also delicious.
The staff meal rice includes diced chicken chashu, shoulder loin, seasoned egg yolk, and chopped onions. The chashu is very delicious and pairs well with the sauce, the chopped onions add a nice flavor, and the egg yolk is rich and flavorful.

I think it's pretty good. I'm not a huge ramen enthusiast, but you can choose the portion size for the tsukemen from large, medium, or small without any change in price. Even the large size is only 250g, so it's not as massive as at Menya Musashi, for example. The presentation is really nice in the photos. The dipping broth is a thick fish and pork bone type, but it's not overpowering and doesn't have any unpleasant smell. It has a rich aroma, almost like there's fish powder in it, but there's no powdery texture. It seems like it's cooked under high pressure. The chashu comes with three types of pork (shoulder loin, pork belly, and chicken) and two types of menma, and they are all delicious on their own. I could easily enjoy them as snacks with drinks at home. Lastly, there's a clam-based soup to finish off the meal, which is also very tasty. While everyone has their own preferences, this fish and pork bone thick dipping broth is unmatched within its genre. The only downside is that there are limited seats, so the wait time in line can be long. But it's definitely worth the wait. Thank you for the meal.

Located in Shinbashi, "Menya Shukyou" is a tsukemen shop. It is a reopening of "Menya Kotobuki" which was previously in Keisei Koiwa and has now opened in Shinbashi. We visited during off-peak lunch hours but still had to wait for about 30 minutes. It is definitely popular.

Special Tsukemen Medium (1,500 yen)
Small: 150g Medium: 200g Large: 250g
The dipping sauce is made using chicken, pork, and 5 types of seafood boiled at high pressure to create an extremely rich soup. It has a high concentration and viscosity, and the way it clings to the noodles is amazing. It is rich but not overwhelming, and it blends well. The noodles are medium-thick straight noodles from Kanou Seimen, with a chewy and sticky texture. Personally, with this rich dipping sauce, I prefer thicker and harder noodles. As a finishing touch, they provide a mini zosui set with rice, chopped char siu, and onions, allowing you to enjoy until the end. It was a conscious tsukemen dish for those who appreciate the full experience.

On a regular night, I needed to have a meeting at home, so I decided to stop by on my way back. I ordered the special dipping noodles. Just as the reviews said, the broth was thick and full of seafood flavor, and the noodles had a rich wheat aroma with a perfect texture. What surprised me the most was that all three types of char siu were incredibly delicious. At 1,500 yen, this is an exceptional deal. This place is definitely worth visiting regularly, and I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes one of the top 100 restaurants soon.

I finally got to visit Chuka Soba Shu-kyo, and waited for an hour. Waiting for an hour for lunch is the epitome of being a slacker (laughs). The tsukemen was very beautiful and delicious. It provided a satisfaction that exceeded its price. Personally, I didn't like the slightly rough texture of the soup, but overall, I was very satisfied with the portion. All in all, I want to go there at least once a month.

#Menya Shuko #Boiled Egg Tsukemen
Tsukemen with only one noodle for a single match. The super thick soup, boiled down with chicken, pork, and seafood, leaves even a rough texture. People who like the style of Tomita or Michi from a little while ago might enjoy this. With only 5 seats inside, the turnover rate is really slow, which can be challenging. I might try to go when there are less than 5 people waiting in line next time.

Tsukemen (dipping noodles) Large size for 1,100 yen - I visited on a weekday after work because it seemed impossible to go on a holiday due to overcrowding. I arrived around 8 pm on a weekday and waited for about 40 minutes as the 7th or 8th person in line (the restaurant only has 5 seats, so it was unavoidable). You can choose the amount of noodles for free, and I chose the large size without hesitation. The quality was amazing. Especially, the soup refill was the best I've ever had! The thick dipping sauce coated the noodles well, so even when eating normally, the dipping sauce was almost gone before finishing the noodles. And when I ordered the soup refill, the quality was beyond any traditional concept of tsukemen! The condiments and soup refill that came as a bonus were more like an extra addition, and they were free! I was completely satisfied with just the regular tsukemen!! I think 1,100 yen for this deliciousness is amazing!! Thank you for the meal! :)
