黄色のたぬき
This is a cafe in Katsura. It is located near the Katsura River Road intersection, on the way from Hankyu Katsura Station to Katsura Rikyu, making it convenient for a break during a stroll. They have a parking lot. I visited in the morning. The cafe is a stylish ochre-colored building. The interior is spacious and bright, with a view of the garden through the windows, creating a nice atmosphere. There is a large L-shaped counter on the left and tables arranged comfortably on the right. The owner, a lady, was running the place by herself. It operates on a prepayment system with self-service. I didn't realize this... When I tried to find a seat after stating the number of people, the lady curtly said, "Please order here." The menu, printed on an A4-sized paper, mainly featured coffee with various options (prices excluding tax). There was a note next to the tray for payment saying, "Please avoid using 10,000 yen bills." Upon sitting down, there was another notice: "No napping, using laptops, or lingering." I ordered the following: Water is self-service, but it was not ready yet. "We will call you when it's ready, so please come pick it up." I waited for about 10 minutes. ● Blend coffee (380 yen) A tray with the coffee and a wet towel was placed in front of me, handed over casually. I heard a "shoo" sound, so it must have been made by a machine. The taste was quite bitter. In the unfriendly atmosphere, it felt even more bitter. But still... I couldn't help but laugh at the lack of friendliness in the service. Is the lady like this all day long? It turned out that she wasn't. A solo customer who arrived later. The lady was serving them with a big smile, offering complimentary water and taking their order. What a contrast... Maybe they are a regular customer. If you can accept the service as it is towards tourists, the cafe is okay for a comfortable stay.
