This is a cafe in Katsura. It is located near the Katsura River Road intersection, on the way from Hankyu Katsura Station to Katsura Rikyu, making it convenient for a break during a stroll. They have a parking lot. I visited in the morning. The cafe is a stylish ochre-colored building. The interior is spacious and bright, with a view of the garden through the windows, creating a nice atmosphere. There is a large L-shaped counter on the left and tables arranged comfortably on the right. The owner, a lady, was running the place by herself. It operates on a prepayment system with self-service. I didn't realize this... When I tried to find a seat after stating the number of people, the lady curtly said, "Please order here." The menu, printed on an A4-sized paper, mainly featured coffee with various options (prices excluding tax). There was a note next to the tray for payment saying, "Please avoid using 10,000 yen bills." Upon sitting down, there was another notice: "No napping, using laptops, or lingering." I ordered the following: Water is self-service, but it was not ready yet. "We will call you when it's ready, so please come pick it up." I waited for about 10 minutes. ● Blend coffee (380 yen) A tray with the coffee and a wet towel was placed in front of me, handed over casually. I heard a "shoo" sound, so it must have been made by a machine. The taste was quite bitter. In the unfriendly atmosphere, it felt even more bitter. But still... I couldn't help but laugh at the lack of friendliness in the service. Is the lady like this all day long? It turned out that she wasn't. A solo customer who arrived later. The lady was serving them with a big smile, offering complimentary water and taking their order. What a contrast... Maybe they are a regular customer. If you can accept the service as it is towards tourists, the cafe is okay for a comfortable stay.

It had been a while since I last visited, and I found that the cafe had switched to self-service. I was unsure of what to do, so I tried to go to the counter, but the staff inside stopped me and told me to order here. It felt like they were blaming me, and it left a bad impression. It's rare to see self-service in a cafe, so I wish they had come out from behind the counter to explain briefly. When I sat down, there was a sign saying that lingering was not allowed, but it was vague and confusing, mentioning something about changing seats every hour and a half. I think cafes are meant to be a place to relax and have a nice conversation, but I didn't feel comfortable at all. I won't be visiting again.

There is a parking lot in front of the store, and I've been curious about this place for a while. Despite its stylish exterior, I was surprised to find out it was self-service as soon as I entered. I ordered a blend for 410 yen. After paying, I was told they would call out when it's ready, so I sat at the counter. They ground the beans and extracted the espresso using the espresso machine. When my order was ready, I went to pick it up and it was served on a small tray with a cup & saucer and a wet towel. There was a glass and a water server nearby, so I poured some water. However, the server was tilted and only filled the glass halfway. It felt like they were ignoring this issue, which didn't match the atmosphere of the store. I can only give it 2 stars.
