Saturday. Nishiki Market is crowded. Ahead, amidst the passing crowd, a long line can be seen outside this shop. The sign advertises a variety of seafood bowls and grilled seafood. The enticing smell of grilling fills the air... As I love oysters, I am drawn inside. Within 10 minutes, I am able to find a seat. The inside is quite busy. Enka music plays in the background, creating a lively atmosphere. A small bowl, about 10cm in height and diameter, is placed before me. Miso soup is served for free. I order the "Seared Jumbo Shrimp and Salmon Roe Bowl". Priced at 1757 yen, the shrimp is plump and fresh. The egg yolk sits atop three shrimp, surrounded by salmon roe. I also tried the grilled oysters, which were large and deliciously plump!!! A sight to behold!!! Eating a seafood bowl like this makes me feel the end of the year personally. I'm glad I was able to visit this place ★

I went to Nishiki Market. There were a lot of foreigners. I could feel the end of the coronavirus. I couldn't help but stop by. I ordered the eel with two shrimp tempura. I didn't have high expectations for a tourist spot, but it was more delicious than I expected. Thank you for the meal!

On the second day of my trip to Kyoto, we decided to have lunch at Nishiki Market after browsing through the various shops. The majority of customers were foreigners. We started with Kyoto pickles and rolled omelette, accompanied by a cold beer for a toast. Then we enjoyed delicious crab miso grill and grilled oysters. The oysters were large and very tasty!

The seafood bowl is small but the ingredients are fresh and delicious, with plenty of toppings. The cost performance is good. The highball is cheap at 290 yen, but it was quite weak which was disappointing. It's attractive that you can enjoy both light drinking and hearty meals in your preferred style!

I visited a restaurant around 4:00 pm on a holiday in March 2023 and found a place where you can enjoy grilled seafood live at Nishiki Market Street! I waited for about 5 minutes for a table, then lined up at the register for 7 minutes before ordering once inside. I waited with a buzzer at my table, sipping on a drink until the food was ready, which took about 15 minutes. The restaurant was filled with many tourists (foreigners). I ordered shrimp, scallops, oysters, and a grapefruit sour for a total of ¥2609. Since there were many food options in the shopping street, I ordered a small amount. It was convenient to have a seat and access to a restroom midway through my visit. The restroom was very dirty, but it was appreciated given how difficult it is to find one on this street. The grapefruit sour was surprisingly delicious, with a strong flavor. The grilled oysters had bits of shell mixed in, and the shrimp, priced at around ¥800 each, had a taste that you could find anywhere. The seafood did not feel particularly fresh.

In Kyoto's Nishiki Market, there is a seafood izakaya called "Fisherman's Hut" that offers delicious seafood bowls and a variety of grilled dishes. The atmosphere is lively and perfect for enjoying drinks. The menu is reasonably priced, the food is delicious, and the service is great. I had a fun time at this restaurant!

Nishiki Market is very convenient! I had to skip lunch due to a meeting during the day, so I wandered around Nishiki Market with an empty stomach and found a shop. I ordered the daily special set which came with a Mega High, scallop croquette, and shrimp croquette, totaling around 2700 yen. The special set allows you to enjoy three mini rice bowls with shellfish, sashimi, and baby sardines, all of which were delicious. They also offer various seafood grilled dishes, so it seems like a great place to enjoy drinks at night. Nishiki Market seems to be getting more tourists, which might be a good thing. But it was too crowded before the pandemic, so moderation is key. Afterward, I went to Shinkyogoku and bought Yatsuhashi to take home. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

Grilled shellfish is delicious, isn't it! Cheers with a lemon sour! I went on a solo trip! The shellfish assortment with oysters, scallops, whelks, etc. was delicious when freshly grilled.

At Nishiki Market in Kyoto. I spotted a sign for a fisherman's hut and decided to have a seafood bowl here, but the restaurant was full. Too bad. Instead, I tried the grilled eel skewer at the storefront. It was so tempting that it made me even more hungry. In the back, they were busy serving fresh seafood dishes. I envy them.
