I found this restaurant by chance during my trip to Kyoto a year ago. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great, so I wanted to make it my first stop next time! We had a late dinner with empty stomachs. The restaurant is located in a back alley near Kyoto Kawaramachi Station. It has a hidden appearance like a hideaway, and the interior is casual and clean. We sat at the counter and enjoyed our meal without any fuss. We ordered: - Grilled straw and sashimi platter (1.5 servings) for 2,000 yen - Grilled potato salad for 700 yen - Grilled asparagus for 800 yen - Kuushinsai for 800 yen - Ikura Oroshi for 650 yen - Grilled chicken tataki for 1,100 yen - Fried noodles with fried egg for 850 yen We started with a toast with fragrant tea! It was so easy to drink that I lost count of how many glasses I had that day! The mozuku seaweed and tofu appetizer were refreshing and delicious. The grilled bonito had a fragrant and elegant umami flavor. The thick slices were a delight! The combination of garlic and soy sauce was excellent. The potato salad was hot because it was cooked on an iron plate! It was seasoned with oden broth and mayonnaise. The fluffy potatoes, large eggs, bacon umami, and plenty of green onions made it very delicious. The grilled chicken tataki was soft and moist. It was topped with plenty of grainy sansho pepper, making it luxurious! It was so delicious that I finished it in no time. Most of the dishes are under 1,000 yen, so I think it's reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and easy to talk to, so we had a great time asking for recommendations for Kyoto. The teppanyaki dishes and grilled bonito were all very delicious. It was a memorable and enjoyable trip to Kyoto.

I visited for the second time. I had a good memory of the first visit, so I decided to drink in Kyoto and made a reservation at this restaurant. The entrance is narrow but stylish and Kyoto-like. I was happy to be seated in the same place as the first time for some reason (laughs). The menu is extensive and I always have a hard time deciding, but I recommend the assorted sashimi.
