The staff noticed that I was struggling to choose from the wide variety of craft beers and kindly helped me pick three delicious options. I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty they were and definitely want to come back for more. The food was also delicious.

On this day, I studied craft beer at "Beer Bar & Bar Lit" right near Shijo Station. The master beer sommelier selects craft beers from all over the country, and you can enjoy 10 different taps, so I go there regularly to study. This time, I sat at the counter for the first time. It was fun to drink and compare beers while talking with the master. The beers I tried were: Hahaha Haha (Sha) S770, a collaboration beer between Minoh Beer, BFM from Switzerland, and Grain Workshop. It's an incredibly easy-to-drink Saison! Sporty Party S770, a pale ale with a slight citrusy flavor. And the aroma that comes later, that's what "dank" means! Let's fry some conger eel for 1000 yen, a daily special menu item. It's conger eel that's crispy and delicious! In Kyoto, conger eel is a summer delicacy. And even with craft beer, conger eel is a perfect match! Tarako Carbonara 1540, the pasta to finish off with is a cold tarako cream carbonara! The rich tarako cream is irresistible. It's practically a drink in itself. I'll definitely go back for more learning!

Today I studied craft beer again. After drinking in the Karasuma area, I tend to stop by at "Beer Bar & Bar Lit". It opened in February this year, but I visit regularly. I go there to ask the master and beer sommelier, Matsu-san, for recommended beers. Last time's post is here #MachLit Past Log DDH Hazy IPA (S) 880 yen by COEDO A fruity and hazy beer with Galaxy hops. The gentle sweetness of white peaches comes out later. I love this!! Quasar (S) 1100 yen by Uchu Brewing Orange, melon, pineapple, tropical but not overly fruity. Tomato cold pasta On a hot day, craft beer and cold pasta!! Just on this day, I saw the restaurant's Instagram post featuring tomato cold pasta and I wanted to try it. Crispy vegetables and plenty of Parmesan. It was a perfect pasta for summer~! I will go again!

I revisited the beer bar Lit right by Karasuma Station. They always have a nice selection of craft beers on their 10 taps. This time, I visited after a hearty dinner, so I just ordered beer without any food. There are some interesting items on the menu that I want to try next time! I had three beers that day, and each one had its own unique character. Nishijin Beer's Byakuya had a refreshing acidity and bitterness with lemon and lime flavors. It's fruity yet still tastes like beer. Very easy to drink. Two Rabbits' Down the Rabbit Hole Golden Stout is surprising because it's a stout that isn't dark! The visual contrast is impressive, and it's surprisingly easy to drink. Sankt Gallen's Sakura Ale uses cherry blossom leaves and petals in the ale, and it tastes just like sakura mochi.

Craft beer bar "Lit" in Karasuma, Kyoto has recently opened on 2/24! Located just 10 seconds away from Exit 6 of Karasuma Line Shijo Station, it's super convenient to stop by on your way home. Whether you're alone at the counter or with a group at a table, there are various ways to enjoy this sophisticated adult bar. The counter features 10 craft beer taps embedded in a tiled wall, which is sure to get you excited! With three sizes available - S: 660 yen, M: 999 yen, L: 1320 yen - I started with a small size and cheers! I went for the Yuzu Mugai from Nishijin Beer, with a nice hop bitterness and refreshing yuzu aroma. Then I switched to the Kumquat Witbier from TwoRabbits, which adds a hint of sweet and sour flavor with Japanese kumquat and coriander in a Belgian-style beer. The Fried Squid for 550 yen is a great snack to go with your beer. The Fried Potatoes for 550 yen have a unique and addictive seasoning. The Smoked Potato Salad for 550 yen is irresistible with its smoky aroma. The Heart Ragout Pasta for 1100 yen, with crispy heart meat complementing the ragout sauce, is a perfect dish to end your meal - although it's so good, you might end up drinking more beer than planned. I definitely want to go back for more drinks at this place!

The restaurant is quiet and calm, which is nice. The pasta is delicious and comes in a good portion. The service is polite, making me want to support them. I would like to try going there at night sometime. It would be even better if they had Wi-Fi. (I forgot to take a picture.)

I visited a newly opened restaurant about six months ago that mainly serves craft beer. This time, I tried their lunch menu, which wasn't very filling but was enough for elderly people. Next time, I want to try their specialty craft beers.
