The potatoes are delicious. I've been addicted to potatoes lately, but the potatoes at this shop were outstanding, crispy and full of potato flavor. The taste is butter soy sauce. Despite its location, it's not crowded. Ordering is done through a touch panel, giving a sense of being ahead of the times.

For hamburger lovers, it's great to have a restaurant that serves hamburger menus from the morning. There are two Wendy's First Kitchen locations in Kyoto, near Kawaramachi and Karasuma, so even though it was hot in the summer, I was hungry after work and had my favorite hamburger at USA Burger. I was very satisfied. It seems easy for foreigners to use too, as when I went on a weekday in the 10 o'clock hour, I was the only Japanese person there.

Honey Mustard Chicken Burger ¥550 The size of the burger is slightly larger than McDonald's Spicy Chicken, but it doesn't compare to Burger King. The good points are that the chicken coating is crispy. The acidity of the pickles and onions was nice. The disappointing points are that the chicken itself lacked flavor and texture. The tomato was thin and not juicy, lacking in flavor. The most disappointing part was that I was expecting a sweet sauce, but I couldn't taste it at all. Instead, the cheese was too overpowering, leaving only a strong cheesy taste in my mouth. In terms of cost performance, McDonald's Spicy Chicken is more appealing.

In response to McDonald's Tsukimi Burger, Burger King's Whopper Jr. is also competing, but Wendy's is also making an effort by offering a burger set for one coin. The timing of the promotion is similar to the others, haha. I haven't really eaten Wendy's burgers before, so I'm looking forward to it. I got the fries and iced coffee. First, the fries. The skin-on fries are really delicious. They have various flavors and are seasoned with a shake. And then the burger. It has a satisfying bite, the meat is meaty and tasty. The vegetables do a good job, so there's no junk food feel. It doesn't taste like typical chain restaurant food. The soft bun is nice, but it felt like it couldn't fully support the meat, so that's a slight downside. But you know what, it was tastier than I expected.

Wife and I took a break on our way to Nishiki Market in Kyoto. [Summary] Iyemon Lemonade for 300 yen. The lemon acidity is mild. There is hardly any tea flavor, so it's more like honey lemon. It's refreshing and tasty, more so than regular lemonade. It somehow feels like licking a lemon candy.

I'm still going to eat this. It's been a while since Wendy's and First Kitchen teamed up for a new version?! Personally, I prefer the dry buns from the old days over Wendy's soft buns. You can still choose flavored sauce for the fries. I noticed that the patty has become Wendy's. Sorry, but I might prefer the old taste. Well, they did partner with a major chain after all! I liked the dry texture of First Kitchen's burgers.

I wanted to visit Nishiki Market, known as the kitchen of Kyoto, and as I was walking through various shopping streets, I came across Wendy's First Kitchen Kyoto Shinkyogoku store. Feeling nostalgic, I decided to go in because I was craving my favorite chili beans. The fast food greeting was the same as always, a standard customer service. I ordered the Wendy's Burger USA and Chili Beans + Drink set. I also ordered the Summer Vegetable BBQ Chicken Burger. I was looking forward to trying the chili beans, but I was disappointed. The chili beans nowadays seem to have a different image from what I remember. They used to be chunky and full of ingredients, like a soup you eat, but now it's more like a drinkable soup. It may appeal to those who like this type of soup, but I prefer the chunky kind. Honestly, the ratio of beans to ground meat was not to my liking. The hamburger, on the other hand, was excellent with soft buns and plenty of vegetables. Despite my disappointment with the change in my favorite menu item, I was happy to see a variety of topping sauces available. I would recommend it to those who enjoy eating potatoes.

Kinkaku Shrine is right next to it, facing Teramachi Street shopping arcade. While walking along Shinkyogoku Street, I saw a cute girl sign for Windies and felt like having a Windies burger after a long time, so I stopped by for takeout. It used to be common but I haven't seen it around lately. There isn't one in my hometown of Hamamatsu. The Windies burger costs 560 yen. It's a bit pricey but the taste is worth it. It's a hamburger with a meaty texture, along with lettuce and tomato, carrying on the tradition of First Kitchen's taste. It seems like First Kitchen and Windies have merged. I used to like the healthy options at First Kitchen. I bought it for a late-night snack but couldn't resist and ended up eating it before dinner. It was delicious. I ended up not being able to have dinner.

Chicken Teriyaki Sandwich with Butter Soy Sauce Potatoes and Melon Soda for 750 yen. It's more like a snack break than dinner. This is my first time at Wendy's, and there are no trendy burger shops like this in my hometown. Burgers are pretty common, but the flavor of the potatoes changes a lot with the seasoning. It's a story about KUMAO and his partner's second New Year's together. They lived in Kusatsu City, Shiga Prefecture at the time. They spent New Year's Eve at KUMAO's house and decided to go to Kyoto for Hatsumode (first shrine visit of the year). However, there was heavy snow as forecasted. Despite the cold weather, they embarked on an adventure. They took the JR train to Yamashina Station, transferred to the Keihan Railway/Subway Tozai Line, and arrived at Higashiyama Station. They carefully made their way to Heian Shrine due to the slippery conditions. Their shoes got wet and they were cold and tired. They eventually found shelter in the covered arcade of Shinkyogoku with no open shops. They felt hopeless until they found a shop that was open. They ordered hot dogs and drinks, which weren't very tasty but provided some warmth. Later, they went to Kyoto Tower to see the first sunrise, but it was cloudy and they couldn't see it. Despite the challenges, they fondly remembered this difficult but memorable New Year's experience.

I came to Shin Kyogoku for the first time in a long time. I remember this restaurant being there since my university days. I used to come here occasionally when I went to Tojiya nearby. Now they are collaborating with Wendy's. I ordered the Wendy's Mushroom Melt Burger set. It's really delicious.

I visited Shin Kyogoku for the first time in 30 years since my elementary school field trip. It was scorching hot, so I went inside to cool off. To my surprise, they not only served hamburgers but also pasta, chili beans, and alcohol. I enjoyed a drink with chili beans and potatoes as snacks.
