I visited after lunch for a break. Custard chestnut cake for 880 yen. It had more of an almond flavor than chestnut. Coconut tea for 800 yen. The coconut aroma was soothing in the black tea. A quiet space where you can have a leisurely conversation, suitable for individuals or groups of customers. Thank you for the meal.

I went to a place wanting to eat a big cake. There were various big cakes to choose from, which was fun. They were filled with lots of fruits which made me excited. Of course, the taste was delicious! It wasn't too crowded, so I was able to relax and enjoy my time there.

I entered the café to have coffee with my junior. The interior was spacious, and the cakes were large. I chose the shortcake, which was satisfyingly big but had a light cream that was delicious. The coffee was also large in size, and I was very satisfied. Kyoto seems to have fully regained its tourism, with many foreign visitors as well.

I have used this café several times, but this was my first time having lunch there. Among the Herb's chain, only 5 locations offer sandwiches. The sandwich options include BLT, omelette, and croque monsieur. I chose the BLT sandwich. I ate it using a knife and fork. I also had a half-size chestnut cake, and I was full and satisfied. It was delicious!

I went in the evening, so the restaurant was empty and I could easily get in. However, some cakes were sold out. I had the pear mille-feuille, and the whipped cream was not too sweet and easy to eat. It paired perfectly with the hibiscus fruit tea, which had a nice acidity.

I stopped by at Fujii Daimaru for a break. There were many big cakes in the showcase, which made me excited. There were also monthly limited menu items, so it was hard to decide. But all of them were not as sweet as I expected and refreshing, and they were delicious! Most of the customers were women, and it seemed like many of them ordered a drink and one piece of cake.

Located about a 5-minute walk from Hankyu Shijo Kawaramachi, on the 4th floor of Fujii Daimaru. Feeling tired from walking, I decided to take a coffee break and came across a simple strawberry cake with fresh cream for ¥900 and a Manhattan blend coffee for ¥650. Since it's still early in the strawberry season, the prices are a bit high. The cake was not too sweet, with a nice balance of flavors and a good amount of fresh cream and sliced strawberries between the sponge layers. The Manhattan blend coffee complemented the cake well with its deep roast.

I took a break because I was a little tired and had some tea. I ordered either ① chocolate mousse or ② muscat jasmine. I actually wanted to have the "summer strawberry cake" that was on the menu, but it was already sold out, so I went with the chocolate mousse. The chocolate mousse was very soft in texture, as expected. However, the crunchy walnuts at the bottom of the cake added a nice accent. The whipped cream was also delicious, not too sweet, and very tasty. For the drink, I was drawn to the "scent of muscat" on the menu, so I chose that. The muscat scent was really nice. The tea is a blend of Darjeeling and jasmine tea.

Friday 18:50 Herbs (HERBS) at Daimaru Kyoto Fujii Store. This place always seems crowded with women. I once adjusted my schedule and had tea in the store at the end of last year, but at that time, I had no plans for a meal, so I wanted to try the cakes. (By the way, I ordered seasonal spiced caramel & milk tea for 800 yen at that time.) I hurried here after work and got cakes to go. Lemon cake for 700 yen, chestnut cake for 730 yen, and an apple mango cake for 1000 yen. Some items were already sold out, but I chose three and made the purchase. The first impression was that the sizes were quite big, and they seemed to be a bit expensive. I brought them home and shared them with my children. We had fun eating together, but it was a bit difficult not to make a mess due to the large size. While they seemed appealing when craving something sweet, we all agreed that we might get tired of the taste halfway through. There weren't layers with different flavors, so the large size seemed to work against us. I wonder if our opinions would change if we tried different cakes. Thank you for the meal.

Herbs, born in Nagoya, is a place I occasionally buy cakes from. This time, I chose the strawberry mousse. It costs 750 yen, but it almost feels necessary to add the 50 yen for the paper bag. The mousse was light and fluffy. It paired perfectly with the strawberry sponge at the bottom. The strawberry sauce drizzled on top of the whipped cream was sweet and delicious. It was a very well-balanced cake!

It had been a while since my last visit and I ordered the Rare Cheesecake with Ceylon Tea (hot). I wanted to try the monthly White Chocolate Cake, but it was said to have a strong alcohol flavor. I looked for other cakes, but most of them contained rum or brandy, so I ended up choosing between cheesecake and shortcake, which was a bit disappointing. I love the cakes at Harbs, so I really like this shop as well. The Fuijii Daimaru location is a place where moms with children can easily visit, so I wish they would increase the variety of cakes that do not contain alcohol, so that nursing moms and children can enjoy them too.

I visited HARBS at Fujii Daimaru in response to my wife's request. We ordered the popular milk crepe and Manhattan blend. Personally, I found the milk crepe a bit too sweet for my liking. If I were to visit again, I would like to try a different menu item.

The set menu included chicken and mushroom cream pasta, chocolate cake, and a drink. It seems that because it's a one drink system, it's more cost-effective to order the set with a drink and cake included, rather than just the pasta set where you would need to order a drink separately. There are four types of pasta available, three basic options and one seasonal option. Although it was disappointing that the pasta menu hasn't changed in years, the cream pasta was delicious! It was quite filling, with tasty chicken, sauce, and large, flavorful mushrooms. You can choose from three types of cake, and I chose the chocolate one which had delicious cream. The staff were a bit lacking in attentiveness, as they would suddenly reach out to take a glass while we were talking, but overall the food was delicious.

The pear mille-feuille and Seattle blend are large!! It has a satisfying texture. I really wanted to try this cake before the end of November. The balance of pear, cream, and choux pastry is great and delicious!

Crepe a la carte and decaf coffee♪ Cinnamon and chocolate flavored milk crepe. The sweetness is moderate and goes well with black coffee. It is topped with plenty of cream but not heavy.

I always get takeout, so it was my first time dining in. It was a bit pricey due to the one drink minimum, but the taste was worth it. I would like to go again.

It was really delicious, but be careful with the portion size. I didn't need dinner after eating it in the afternoon haha. The calories might be just right!
