I felt like eating bread and searched on a map to make a reservation. When I arrived, I was confused because there were 2-3 people working at desks in the front of the cafe and it didn't look like a typical cafe. The staff guided me to my seat after I asked. I ordered my food first, paid, and then waited at my table. It took 20 minutes until my alarm number was called. It was a long wait for lunch! When I started eating, I realized that the portion was smaller than I expected, and I was still hungry after finishing. The drink was weak in flavor, the salad was okay, but the roast beef was delicious. I couldn't help but notice that the portion size was small, especially the piece of French bread.

Newly renovated on 7/12❣️ MAJA CAFE TUPA supervised by Finnish product designer Harri Koskinen. A Nordic-style cafe☕️ Tupa means a relaxing space in Finnish. The seats were spacious and cozy, with a Moomin character as well✨ It was a warm and cozy space with natural wood. A shop with Nordic goods and tableware was also attached, and the Nordic goods are so cute that you'll want them. The parfait I had was made with Shine Muscat grapes, with a sauce of cardamom-infused sour cream, osmanthus jelly, lychee sherbet, pistachio ice cream, and whipped cream. There was also an Instagram exclusive menu with grapes, osmanthus jelly, pistachio ice cream, and whipped cream. I prefer red grapes, so I chose the grape version! It was a lucky day as they had just received some amazing Nagano Purple grapes✌️ I love Nagano Purple grapes♡ They were big and juicy! The Shine Muscat grapes were also big and juicy. The grapes on the side of the glass were cut in half, not sliced, so the inside was chunky! It was a parfait to enjoy the grapes❣️ The cream was not too sweet, and the osmanthus jelly had a floral aroma and refreshing acidity. I visited a Nordic-style cafe called MAJA CAFE TUPA today, located around Yanaginobamba-dori Rokkaku. It is a cafe that focuses on Finnish cuisine, with dishes like Rohikeitto and Karelian Pies. The cafe is located on the first floor of the female-only capsule hotel "MAJA HOTEL KYOTO." You pay before ordering. The recommended dishes are the salmon soup "Rohikeitto" and the Finnish-style omelette rice "Finrice." The cafe has a good number of seats and a stylish atmosphere designed by a Finnish designer with a warm wooden feel. The place was mostly filled with female customers. I ordered the Finnish-style omelette rice "Finrice" this time. It seemed to be a mushroom-filled omelette rice, enjoyed with white sauce and mushrooms. Sliced mushrooms were scattered on top. The rice under the egg had a hint of sauce flavor. It was generously filled with salmon, and the rice had a nice salmon flavor. The texture of walnuts and mushrooms added to the enjoyment of the dish. I was able to enjoy the mushroom-filled omelette rice deliciously.

On July 12th, the new Shine Muscat PUUPUU opened. "PUU" means tree in Finnish. I tried the Shine Muscat PUU (2640 yen), which was a parfait filled with fresh Shine Muscat, pistachio ice cream, lychee sorbet, and osmanthus jelly. The parfait looked like a Shine Muscat tree and was topped with cardamom-scented homemade sour milk, which added a delicious twist to the flavor. The large, sweet Shine Muscat was abundant in every bite, making the parfait incredibly delicious. You can enjoy desserts like cakes in the morning as well (subject to availability).
