I loved being able to casually drink from lunchtime! I was drawn in by the name of the bar and couldn't resist going in! There were so many different kinds of alcohol, I had a hard time deciding (laughs). I had a whisky on the rocks! It's great being able to drink in the daylight (laughs). It was rare to find a bar open in the afternoon, and I'm glad I stumbled upon it. I was able to enjoy a drink while waiting at Happy Pancake! I definitely want to come back.

I had an hour to kill before my reservation, so I decided to stop by a bar. I always thought bars were more for later in the evening, but it turns out they're open in the afternoon too. I ordered a shochu highball with lime to cool off. The bartender didn't just pour it from a bottle, but actually made it from scratch, adding various ingredients. It cost 500 yen, which is a bit more than the 350 yen you might pay for a regular highball, but for the extra 150 yen, it was worth it. I also had a lemon drink afterwards. They had a wide variety of whiskies at reasonable prices.

A few minutes' walk from Kyoto City Hall Station. I stopped by here today. The interior of the shop has counter seats and only one small table seat. The drink menu is varied, but the food menu is minimal. So, I ordered today's gin and tonic and crispy cheese with honey. Let's dig in! Today's gin and tonic is Tanqueray with fresh lime and dried lime. Personally, I like Tanqueray so I enjoyed it. The crispy cheese with honey is a pretty good snack. There's quite a bit of honey, but I wonder if anyone actually puts this much on it, haha. Anyway, thanks for the meal! With no cover charge and drinks starting from 500 yen, you can enjoy yourself here at a reasonable price. It's an easy place to stop by.

Today, I had a casual drink at a standing bar called "Sake Museum Miyukimachi" located a bit north of Nishiki Market, at the intersection of Takoyakushi-dori and Miyuki-dori. The clean interior had an L-shaped counter, small counter seats by the window, and a small round table. Looking at the Western liquor bottles lined up on the shelf behind the counter, I thought I should probably go for Western liquor, but since it was just the beginning of my drinking session, I started with beer. It felt like a standing bar in a liquor store. The menu also had a variety of Western liquors such as whiskey and brandy, so I would like to try different types of Western liquors next time.

It's been a while since I went out for drinks, so I visited the Art Museum of Alcohol in Gokomachi. Although the state of emergency in Kyoto has been lifted, we still need to be cautious. This bar is relatively new, with standing room for about 10 people. It's conveniently located near Teramachi Street, making it a great spot for a quick drink while shopping. I took advantage of a Twitter campaign for a discounted Freezing Highball. The Highball was refreshing and perfect for a hot day. I also enjoyed a platter of smoked meats, including delicious thick-cut bacon. The combination of flavors was fantastic. I then tried a Brandy Highball, which had a slightly different taste compared to whiskey. It was a great way to end the day with good drinks and snacks.
