giants2002
On this day, my partner and I went to see the Jidai Festival, one of the three major festivals in Kyoto. We walked from Karasuma to Kyoto Gyoen, then to Heian Shrine, Yasaka Shrine, Kawaramachi, Nishiki Market, and back to Kawaramachi, covering quite a distance on foot. By the time we were deciding on dinner, we were too tired to seriously consider our options. That's when my partner suggested, "I want to try Yoshinoya's spicy beef hot pot." Really? We came all the way to Kyoto for Yoshinoya? "Yeah, why not?" So we ended up at this restaurant. Both my partner and I ordered the spicy beef hot pot set. After a while, the food was served, with solid fuel underneath the hot pot. It also came with rice and pickles. Once the food was cooked, we dug in! The ingredients included beef, tofu, Chinese cabbage, onions, leeks, carrots, and flat noodles resembling udon. It was piping hot and spicy (゚∀゚)! Due to the heat and spiciness, we decided it was too risky to eat directly, so we transferred it to a plate to cool down before eating. Of course, we didn't forget to eat it with rice. The soup was made from pork bones and chicken bones, quite tasty. However, there was a unique spice aroma that caught our attention, possibly from Chen Jianyi's special blend of spicy sauce or Sichuan peppercorn oil. My partner shared the same sentiment. Well, I had been curious about it for a while, so it was better to try it than regret not doing so. It wasn't bad at all. We even got a 50 yen discount using a Yahoo coupon at the end. Thank you for the meal.
