After lunch, I visited this cafe where you can enjoy freshly roasted coffee. It's tucked away in a back alley, giving it a hidden gem vibe. Although I was tempted by their toast and French toast menus made with "Kodama Pan," I opted for the snack set that you can add for an extra ¥100 with your drink. The usual hot coffee for ¥450 had a smooth richness to it. The coffee bean cookie that came with the snack set was crispy and fragrant. The female owner is cheerful and very pleasant to talk to. I'd love to come back next time to try their bread menu as well!

Located at a convenient distance from Kawaramachi and Shijo-Karasuma, this charming hidden café is a gem near the bustling city center. Tucked away in a row of houses down a side street, Yukariya Café is run by a young female owner who shared that the café was once her grandfather's home, and she wanted to preserve its essence in some way. The café has a cozy atmosphere reminiscent of visiting a friend's house, with traditional decorations like hanging scrolls and Noh masks. The menu offers a variety of items including house-roasted coffee, sweets, toasts, and sandwiches. I tried the usual coffee with a snack set which included coffee bean cookies. The coffee had a mature, wine-like flavor that grew on me as I sipped it, and the cookies had a unique adult taste with crushed coffee beans mixed in. Whether you visit alone or with friends, this café is a perfect spot to unwind. I've discovered another hidden gem in the city. Thank you for the lovely experience.

I visited this cafe after seeing it on Instagram. It's a bit hard to find from the south side alley, so it might be easier to come from the north side, facing Shijo Street. When you enter, it feels like you're entering a private home... maybe a small inn? The atmosphere is really nice, or rather, the kind of atmosphere I like. I ordered the bacon cheese toast and coffee. First, the toast was delicious! The thick slices of toast are irresistible, and the bacon is also thick-cut, which is great. I enjoyed my coffee and felt relaxed... reading a book or just soaking in the atmosphere. It's a cozy cafe. Another wonderful cafe has opened! Thank you for the meal!

I visited this cafe first thing in the morning, tucked away in a narrow alley. The owner greeted me with a gentle smile, acknowledging that the place might have been hard to find. There was a selection of books on display, and although they didn't offer a morning menu, I ordered French toast and lemonade. The cafe had a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for relaxing alone with a book. The French toast with honey was deliciously sweet, and sipping on the lemonade was refreshing. It was a lovely cafe to stumble upon for a quiet moment.
