I purchased a bento box from the renowned store Iniden at the department store corner in Kyoto Station's Isetan basement floor, to eat on the Shinkansen on my way back to Kanto. I also bought a bottle of sake from the station's shop. I opened the bento box on the train around 2 o'clock and enjoyed it with the sake. The balance between the dried fish with sansho pepper and rice was excellent, making the sake go down smoothly. The Nara pickles, which I hadn't had in a while, also paired perfectly with the sake. Each side dish had an elegant taste, making this bento box the perfect way to end my Kyoto trip in the scorching heat.

I rode on the TWILIGHT EXPRESS Mizukaze and had a bento box from the restaurant Iniden. I had it as part of a tour so I didn't know about the restaurant, but it was simply delicious. I would like to visit the restaurant next time. Thank you for the meal.

I had a refined Kyoto-style meal in a bento box. The price was around 3000 yen. At first, I thought 3000 yen for a bento box was a bit expensive, but after trying it, I was convinced by the taste. It was really delicious.

We had a meal at the renowned restaurant, Inden, in Meirin district. While they mainly focus on catering, if you make a reservation, you can enjoy a luxurious kaiseki meal in the evening. Unlike upscale traditional restaurants, you will first appreciate the careful work put into each dish. They only use natural sea bream for their sea bream head soup. The sea bream milt sesame tofu is also exquisite! Just when we thought the rice with simmered conger eel would be the final dish, we were pleasantly surprised with a serving of the landlady's homemade pickles assortment, fluffy white rice, dessert, and left completely satisfied with our full stomachs!

I purchased a high-end bento box from the luxury bento corner at Kyoto Takashimaya. Normally, they always have Kikunoi or Uosanrou bento boxes available, but the "Goryotei" bento box is only available occasionally. During this season, many restaurants offer bento boxes for cherry blossom viewing, and even the nearby "Today's Flavor Spot" sometimes serves dishes from Goryotei, so I wonder why they are not always available here. Other bento boxes in this corner usually cost around 3500 yen, with the next tier priced at 2000-2500 yen, so the 1600 yen price of this one is considered affordable. Despite the lower price, the quality of the contents is excellent. The main dish is bamboo shoots, which are of high quality, and the miso dressing is sweet and delicious. The trout wrapped in cherry leaves is fragrant, and the shrimp is cooked in broth, with only the head cut off for easy eating. The rolled kelp is soft and sticky. The difference between this 1600 yen bento box and those priced at 3000 yen is mainly in the ingredients used for the main dish, but the taste doesn't lose out at all.

Theme: ● Pictures of food eaten♪ (291459) Category: Deli, Takeout, Convenience Store Inden's Seasonal Assorted Bento Box - 3,675 yen 19x19x5.5 cm Located in a corner of the Karasuma-Kawaramachi area of Shijo, founded in 1907. This bento box is filled with dishes that make use of seasonal ingredients from Kyoto's four seasons. I made a reservation online at the longstanding bento corner on the 2nd floor of Isetan, and received a confirmation call back from Isetan. No sales on Wednesdays, and if Wednesday is a public holiday, there will be no sales on Thursday. Oh, I love fresh fu (wheat gluten) so much! It's like maple leaf-shaped fresh fu, reminding me of the season. The grilled salmon and duck loin were delicious, but the conger eel rice was a bit too light in flavor. The ingredients include rice, egg, shrimp, kamasu fish, conger eel, mackerel, fish cake, cucumber, ayu fish, tarako (cod roe), sweet potato, lotus root, shishito pepper, pumpkin, fresh fu, yuba (tofu skin), green soybeans, daikon radish, matsutake mushroom, shiitake mushroom, tofu, thin fried tofu, ginger, Nara pickles.

"Delicious Kyoto (15)" [Family trip] One of my anxieties when traveling alone is actually my lack of direction sense, but there is another issue as well - I struggle with eating alone. In the past, I couldn't eat alone at all, but now I can manage cafes for lunch. However, dinner alone is still a challenge for me. But I found out that Kyoto has a culture of "obento" (boxed meals) delivery, so I decided to call the long-established obento shop "Iden" that I had seen in a magazine. They were able to make a customized obento and deliver it to my hotel for a reasonable price. I requested an obento with conger eel and discussed the portion, and it cost 3000 yen. The person on the phone, despite being a man, spoke in a lovely Kyoto dialect. The obento was larger than I expected and beautifully made. The conger eel sushi that I requested was included. The whole obento was delicately seasoned with a rich broth, bringing out the flavors of the ingredients. The variety of side dishes had a nice contrast of flavors, making it enjoyable until the last bite. I was truly satisfied with the obento. I bought white wine from a convenience store and enjoyed it together."

I purchased the most expensive bento box of my life at Kyoto Isetan for ¥3780 including tax, and it was truly delicious. I will enjoy it on the Shinkansen ride back. Here are some of the highlights from the bento box: - Ume-Karen Renkon: Lotus root stuffed with spicy cod roe. The texture of the lotus root and the balance with the cod roe was excellent. - Mackerel Sushi: Simple and delicious, one of my favorite dishes. - Seasoned Rice: Each grain was carefully seasoned and cooked perfectly. - Dashimaki Tamago: Fluffy and moist, with a rich dashi flavor. Perfectly made. Overall, the bento box was fantastic, and the selection of dishes that were delicious even when cold showed great attention to detail. It was much better than eating at a random restaurant. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I often use the "Kyo no Aji" section at the Kyoto Takashimaya underground mall, and I have had the opportunity to enjoy dishes from Ineden there many times. Recently, I had the pleasure of tasting Ineden's cuisine. The dish was named "Harvest of Rice," and true to its name, the rice was incredibly delicious. The other dishes were also delicious, and the white miso soup was excellent. Ineden's cuisine not only tasted great but was also visually appealing. I have yet to visit the actual restaurant, but I would love to experience it if given the chance.

I have never been to this restaurant during regular business hours, but I always use it every time I go to the Gion Festival's Yoiyama and Yoiyoiyama events. It must have been about 10 years ago when I first stumbled upon it while walking towards To-ji Temple from Shijo-Karasuma, lured by the smell of eel. During the Yoiyama night, they grill eel and yakitori in front of the store. You can either take it to go or sit on the chairs set up in front of the store to eat. I always order the eel rice bowl and eel roll. The eel rice bowl comes in two sizes, so I choose based on how hungry I am at the time. If you're eating alone while walking around, the small size might be enough. Despite being festival food, the taste is authentic and delicious. It's quite popular, and they sometimes sell out, so I recommend going early.
