Stayed at The Westin Miyako Kyoto in Higashiyama, Kyoto. The beautiful entrance and open lobby with a high ceiling were lovely. The room was elegant and sophisticated. The hotel had a variety of restaurants and a spa, making it perfect for a relaxing stay. The attentive service and hospitality made it a comfortable experience. Had dinner at the bar "Rokuzo". Not just cocktails, but the food and snacks menu was extensive and looked delicious, so we opted for à la carte. In the slightly dim luxurious space, we enjoyed our meal sitting on comfortable sofas. We ordered:
- Tapas assortment, pasta, dessert plate 5,400 yen
- American Clubhouse Sandwich 3,300 yen
- Vegetable sticks 2,300 yen
- Mixed nuts 1,300 yen
- Original cocktail Bluerry 2,300 yen
- Original cocktail Sunny 2,300 yen
The food and cocktails were visually appealing and delicious. Although a bit pricey, the experience and memories of dining in this space were worth it. Started with an original frozen cocktail for a toast! Bluerry was made with vodka, blue curaçao, lemon, Calpis, and grapefruit juice. It had a refreshing and balanced taste. Sunny was made with Passoa, grenadine syrup, orange juice, pineapple juice, lemon, and Calpis. The sweetness of passion fruit was delicious and made it easy to drink. The tapas assortment had 8 varieties including Japanese, American, and Mexican dishes. We enjoyed tempura, tuna sushi, Kamo eggplant and nama-fu, hamburgers, beef stew, tandoori chicken, tortilla, and more. We savored them little by little with our drinks. The pasta with chirimen sansho and Kujo green onions had a shiny oil with a strong flavor of Kujo onions. The American Clubhouse Sandwich came with thinly sliced potatoes. The crispy and fragrant toast contained fried eggs, bacon, tomatoes, and lettuce. The simple flavors paired well with ketchup and mustard. The colorful vegetable sticks were visually appealing. Served with mayonnaise and special miso, they were a great snack to accompany our drinks. A chic and luxurious bar where you can enjoy food and drinks in a cozy atmosphere. Before we knew it, almost 4 hours had passed! Taking photos of the food and engaging in lively conversations made it a fun and enjoyable time.
