In the morning, there was quite a bit of rain, but by now it has stopped. Looking at the Kamogawa River, it is not swollen and hardly muddy. After walking around and getting tired, it's time for a coffee break. Looking out the window, you can see a huge number of people. As expected, this is Shijo Kawaramachi, the most visited area by tourists, not losing to Osaka's Kita and Minami. Next stop is the New Kyogoku Shopping Street. Here, you can also see many foreigners. Occasionally, I use a brand of moxibustion called "Sennenkyu". I was surprised to find out that there is a directly operated store, so I stopped by and bought some moxibustion sticks to take home. Next, I stopped by Hotel Vista Premio Kyoto. I didn't come here to stay, but for a different reason on the lower level. Here, there is a Chinese hot pot specialty chain restaurant called "Xiao Fei Yang", which is said to have the most chain stores in the world. There used to be a store in my hometown of Abiko, but it closed in January this year... It was a restaurant I quite liked, so I'm disappointed. There are also stores in Osaka, in Kita and Shinsaibashi, but I found out that there is also a store here in Kyoto, so I came to eat here for the first time in a long time. If you look closely, you can see the image character of Xiao Fei Yang on the lanterns. The store in Abiko was quite spacious, but this one is even larger. And while Abiko was casual, this place has an air of luxury. There are counter seats, but we were seated at a table. The interior is very clean. This is a hot pot restaurant, with courses ranging from 1,960 yen for the value course to a luxurious course for 9,888 yen. Among them, there is a new menu or limited-time offer called the "Colorful Vegetable Course". It's priced at 2,480 yen and you can get over 20 types of domestic vegetables, which is said to be the amount of vegetables needed in a day. I chose this one without hesitation. First, cheers with a beer to relax. I ordered the "Chef's Recommended 3 Types of Appetizers" (800 yen). Spicy pickled cucumbers. It's basically cucumber in kimchi sauce. There are 4 slices of cucumber. Steamed chicken with basil sauce. The tender meat is light and delicious. A dish that made me go "What's this?" when I ate it. When you eat it, your mouth feels a bit rough. It's called "Dried Tofu with Coriander". It's interesting how tofu becomes like this when dried, completely different from frozen koyadofu. Seasonal green vegetable stir-fry (600 yen). I thought it was watercress at first, but it's pea sprouts. I've seen it in commercials on TV, but it's my first time eating it. It has a nice crispiness to it. There are two types of soup, "White Soup" and "Ma La (Spicy)" soup. You can choose one, and for the Ma La soup, you can choose from mild, medium, or spicy. We chose mild, but it was still very spicy. It's a medicinal hot pot, with ingredients like garlic, jujube, dang shen, good ginger, white crown, grass fruit, ginger, longan, dang gui, and wolfberry. Just drinking this broth makes you feel healthier. The Ma La soup is too spicy for me. The main vegetables arrived. Enoki and eringi mushrooms that couldn't fit on the plate came in a basket. The presentation is colorful and you can feel the person's sense of aesthetics. It's a well-balanced mix of leafy and root vegetables. It's a delight for vegetable lovers. However, no matter how much you love vegetables, it feels lonely without meat... so I chose domestic chicken thigh meat (680 yen).
