On July 18, 2010, I visited a restaurant in Kyoto called Sakaba Ryoma. The restaurant is filled with portraits, letters, and merchandise related to Ryoma Sakamoto, a historical figure from the Bakumatsu period. The atmosphere is unique and caters to fans of Ryoma, the Bakumatsu era, and history in general. The owner, who resembles Ryoma, was dressed casually in jeans and a short-sleeved shirt. His wife, who resembled Oryo, was dressed in a yukata. I ordered an ice cream for 300 yen, which was a two-tiered ice cream with matcha and vanilla flavors. The taste was ordinary, but it was a refreshing treat in the scorching heat. The restaurant is a hidden gem for those interested in Ryoma and history. Nearby, there is a lodging called Sumiya where Ryoma resided during his stay in Kyoto. The area is also home to the Tosa clan residence and a ramen shop called Manjiro, which may be a nod to John Manjiro, a historical figure from Tosa. Overall, the experience at Sakaba Ryoma was enjoyable, and I recommend it to anyone looking to delve into the history of Ryoma Sakamoto and the Bakumatsu era.

I went to Karaoke Counter Sakamoto Ryoma, which is located along Kiyamachi Street where there are many exhibits related to Ryoma Sakamoto.
