I saw this restaurant on Instagram and made a reservation for lunch. The place had a cozy counter with seating for 8 people, but it was just the two of us that day, so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. The course menu consisted of 9 dishes, starting with their famous French toast and ending with dessert. Despite the fact that my companion was a fast eater and a bit talkative, so we couldn't fully savor each dish, everything was delicious and creatively presented. I'd love to come back for dinner next time and enjoy a leisurely meal with some drinks. The course cost 6600 yen, and with drinks included, it came to around 11000 yen, which is a great deal considering the quality of the food. It might be a bit on the small side for big eaters, but it's just right for women. I definitely plan on coming back.

This was my second time visiting Nikumakigyuhei. They only offer set menus, but the course is excellent! Each dish is carefully crafted and delicious. I can visit this restaurant anytime. The menu changes monthly, so I want to go once a month.

In February, Kyoto Meat Kappo. Budget is 10,000 yen. Located in Gion, this meat Kappo restaurant has a friendly head chef and a cozy atmosphere. There are about 6 seats at the counter. The chef has experience training at a meat Kappo restaurant in Kyoto. He specializes in delicious Kumano beef, offering various cuts like sirloin, harami, misuji, sagari, chateaubriand, and thigh meat. The dishes come with side dishes and sauces, providing a different way to enjoy meat dishes compared to yakiniku restaurants. This is a place I want to visit again. They also offer tasty and reasonably priced red wine, sake, and shochu.

The taste, atmosphere, everything is amazing. The portions are huge so it's highly recommended for big eaters! There is only one course for 6000 yen, but the price is unbelievably reasonable!!! The owner is very nice. I will definitely go back again!
