I visited Takashimaya Kyoto store on a Saturday afternoon around 3:45 PM, just after the New Year holiday. It was crowded but not as busy as on New Year's Eve. I was surprised by the quality of the wine and antipasto set for 1188 yen, which came on a sturdy tray that can be reused for other purposes. The smoked chicken, camembert cheese, and dried apricot combination was delicious. The mushroom a la grecque was as tasty as expected, with onions and crunchy potatoes adding to the flavor. The potato salad with prosciutto was tasty, and the grilled vegetables with yogurt sauce had a nice balance of flavors. The smoked salmon spring rolls with pickled dressing were a pleasant surprise, and the spinach and bacon mini quiche had a strong salty flavor but were securely packed for takeaway.

The shop's rating during the visit was 3.07. RF1 often buys salads. This time, they went into Takashimaya 10 minutes before closing and found only leftover items - potato salad and prosciutto salad in pre-packaged containers. Other shops also had limited options, so they ended up buying the remaining salads. It's not ideal to shop right before closing. Despite the close-to-expiration products, the taste was still good. They enjoyed a nice evening drink with wine.

I was feeling exhausted from the intense heat, with temperatures exceeding 36 degrees. Originally, I had planned to have lunch outside while shopping at Takashimaya, but I felt too lazy to leave the hotel. So, I decided to buy some ready-made dishes from the deli corner at RF1, which I am familiar with. I bought a light eggplant salad with ponzu dressing, which was refreshing and whetted my appetite. Then, I couldn't resist having a beer with RF1's classic roast beef and shrimp fry. The fried items were average in taste, but the roast beef, which I always enjoy, was delicious and comforting. I enjoyed my meal. It was good that there were many types of bento boxes available, unlike in my hometown.

On this day, I was planning to watch Kabuki at the Minami-za theater, so I went to Takashimaya's basement floor to buy lunch. It was 10 o'clock in the morning. As soon as the store opened, I headed straight to the basement of Takashimaya. There were many bento boxes sold in the basement that seemed perfect for watching a play, and I was unsure which one to choose. Elegant ladies in kimonos were also browsing through the bento boxes. I decided to go for a healthy Japanese assorted bento box with fried tofu croquettes, and as I continued to look around... I passed by the RF1 with Western-style side dishes, and its glamorous appearance caught my eye (laughs). The variety of glamorous and delicious side dishes... this would definitely appeal to women. Not only side dishes, but there was also a set of Western-style rolled sushi and side dishes that seemed perfect for a bento box! The Trout Cheese Roll Saladben (787 yen) included salmon and cream cheese back-rolled sushi, roast beef, boiled eggs, and several salads! Glamorous! Stylish! Delicious!! The abundance of vegetables was also attractive. It was a bit pricey, but I decided on this one ◎ It was mentioned that it needed to be refrigerated, but since I was going to eat it within 2 hours and it was fine at room temperature, I thought it wouldn't be a problem, but the staff put two ice packs without saying anything! Truly generous like a department store☆ The 30-minute intermission was from 11:30, so I had lunch about an hour after leaving Takashimaya. I initially thought I didn't need the ice packs, but by the time I was ready to eat, they had melted about half as I had placed the bento box on my lap. It was good to have them. I enjoyed my bento at the Minami-za theater seat☆ I accidentally held the container vertically a few times, so I thought the contents might have shifted, but surprisingly it was fine (*^。^*) The sauce packet for the roast beef was taped to the outside of the container, so I poured it over. The sauce for the roast beef was delicious! It had a sweet seasoning, which I liked. It was really tasty when I poured it over the lettuce under the roast beef and ate it together. The back-rolled sushi was also delicious☆ I had it without adding anything, but a little soy sauce would have been even better. The abundant vegetables were also delicious◎ It was expensive, but I was satisfied (^~^) Thank you for the meal☆

I have recently been obsessed with croquettes. It all started when I tried a croquette at a Mini Stop in Koyamachi and found it delicious. I didn't have high expectations for a 105 yen croquette, but it was made fresh in the store and tasted really good. So, I thought I could find even better croquettes at the Takashimaya department store in Kyoto. I decided to try one from a famous deli called RF1, and bought a beef croquette (I think it was 126 yen each). When I got home and tried it... it was a complete disappointment. The texture was soggy and the filling lacked the deliciousness of potato. It tasted just like a cheap supermarket croquette. Unfortunately, Mini Stop wins this round.

Health-conscious restaurant RF1 offers healthy and safe meals using Chobei brown rice. They introduced the Healthy Rice Box and Salad Rice Box, both looking delicious and healthy. Despite being a picky eater, the reviewer enjoyed both flavors, especially the chewy and tasty Chobei brown rice. They express a desire to reorder the bento and plan to visit the store in Osaka. Thank you for reading today!

RF1 is found in most department stores. After finishing a stroll in Kyoto and thinking about heading home, I was looking for something to eat with beer as soon as I got back. The staff suggested, "How about some delicious freshly fried croquettes?" I was about to pass by, but our eyes met and they smiled, so I couldn't help but stop. My wife said she didn't want croquettes, so I wanted something else. I ended up getting croquettes, shrimp salad, and one more item. It's best to be able to relax at home. We got back from Kyoto at 10:30 PM, and this deli really comes in handy at times like this.

It is a variety of salad-centered deli shop. I have been using it for a while, but this time I chose Chinese-style appetizers for cherry blossom viewing. There are 9 different types, each packed in a plate block. I like marinated squid. The chili dishes were also delicious. This kind of assorted dishes is great for those who like a variety of flavors. I was actually drawn to the croquettes, but it would be a waste to fill up on just that, so I passed this time. Next time, I'm torn between croquettes and cream dishes.

While in Kyoto, I decided to buy some deli dishes and ended up at this place known for their salads. It's a bit pricey but the taste is great. Especially popular among women, I see it often. I purchased a 30-item salad here. I'm not sure of the name, but it's a great way to enjoy a variety of vegetables without getting bored. The carrots taste different from what I usually eat, and they are delicious. The pumpkin and other vegetables are also sweet and easy to eat without any overpowering flavors.

The frequency has decreased quite a bit, but when it comes to the classic dishes at the delicatessen in department stores, they offer bento boxes, assorted appetizers, fried foods, and salad by weight to suit your needs. I recommend the crispy salad (I hope I got the name right) when you want to eat lots of vegetables. It has just the right amount of salt and isn't too oily. And when you have the budget, try the potato salad with crab meat. It looks lovely and I prefer it over meat dishes. The staff are also efficient and pleasant.

I bought the "Western Food Assortment" which also comes with tartar sauce. It includes shrimp fry, roast beef, quiche, croquettes, potato salad, penne, baked tomato, pumpkin, and more. It's great to have a variety of hors d'oeuvres. The roast beef, even in small quantities, tastes delicious. It's a fun and tasty set.

I enjoyed a red eggplant and salted lemon salad at home, savoring the taste of the season. It's a bit pricey, but so delicious! I always end up going back because it's just so good. This shop is popular in the department store basement, always crowded with people. There are always various types of salads to choose from, making it hard to decide. It's nice to have a variety of seasonal salads available. I find myself wanting to eat here regularly.
