Copper Plate Baked Dorayaki Wrap in Kyoto is a handmade dorayaki shop where each piece is carefully baked on a copper plate. It is a takeout-only store and the dough is seriously delicious! The shop offers a variety of attractive dorayaki, such as Anko Butter (250 yen), Chai Latte (300 yen), and Shine Muscat (380 yen), among others. The Anko Butter was my favorite out of the three, with its perfect combination of sweet anko and rich butter. The Chai Latte has a homemade chai cream filling and a hint of cinnamon, making it a unique and interesting choice. The Shine Muscat, a seasonal limited edition item, features plenty of fresh cream and juicy Shine Muscat grapes. The shop is located about a 6-minute walk from Kyoto Kawaramachi Station and is perfect for souvenirs or a quick snack. The staff is friendly and the shop has a stylish atmosphere. Whether you love traditional Japanese sweets or not, this shop is highly recommended! A new shop has opened on Goshijo Street, just west of Gokomachi, and when I peeked inside, I discovered it was a dorayaki specialty store! The young and friendly shop owner recommended their takeout option. The dorayaki, with its crispy, fragrant outer layer baked on a copper plate, was delightfully chewy and paired perfectly with the sweet red bean paste filling. The regular menu has 4 varieties, while the seasonal menu offers 3 options including red bean butter, red bean cream, matcha cream, and apple cinnamon. They were all delicious, and I definitely want to come back to try the remaining menu items!

I passed by the dorayaki shop that opened at the end of January on Takatsuji Street and was curious, so I came to buy it. The anko butter dorayaki I was looking for was sold out. - Red bean cream ¥250- - Strawberry compote ¥380- It's a bit smaller than I thought. The dough is fluffy. It seems like a good gift, but be careful because the expiration date is on the same day.

In Kyoto, a specialty shop that uses domestically produced wheat and Kyoto eggs to make fluffy and chewy dorayaki has opened in Kawaramachi. The menu changes daily and includes flavors like red bean butter, red bean cream, matcha cream, chai latte, strawberry compote, apple cinnamon, and sweet potato butter. The shop is open from 11:00 to 18:00 and closes when sold out. I arrived at 16:30 and there were only 2 left. Luckily, I was able to get the chai latte flavor that I wanted. The combination of Japanese dorayaki and Indian chai was quite good. The packaging is cute, making it a great gift or souvenir.

In Kyoto, there is a rare dorayaki specialty shop. I bought the Anko Butter dorayaki for 250 yen and a Chai Latte for 300 yen. The dorayaki's dough was fluffy and delicious as you would expect from a specialty shop. The Anko Butter had a generous amount of butter and red bean paste, which tasted great together.

I happened to pass by and decided to check it out. It seems like they've only been open for about half a month, but not only does it look cute, the taste was also delicious. The pastry chef mentioned that they achieve the chewy texture without using tapioca or rice flour, only using wheat flour from Hokkaido, and when I tried it, it was indeed very chewy! The apple cinnamon had a strong cinnamon flavor with a firm texture of apples that paired well with the cream, and it was delicious.
