After leaving Murasakino Wakuden Sakaimachi store and returning to the Gion area, I visited Kodai-ji Temple and admired the Yasaka Pagoda. It was almost time to head home, so I decided to have a light drink before leaving. I already had a few places in mind that I wanted to visit, but I chose to go to a restaurant where I could use a travel coupon. Although I had just visited two days ago, there were other menu items I wanted to try, and it felt good to end the trip at a place I wanted to go. I made my way back to Kawaramachi and entered the restaurant. Since the dining area was full, I was seated at the counter. I decided to skip the Happy Hour set that was exclusive to this restaurant, and instead chose the Beef Cutlet Sandwich along with a draft beer. The draft beer, known as Maruef, had a rich flavor that was absolutely delicious. The complimentary popcorn was salty, but it added to the experience. After a while, the Beef Cutlet Sandwich arrived, and the combination of the lightness of the beef and the richness of the cutlet was irresistible. The Sumida River Pale Ale craft beer had a fruity taste unique to it, with a pleasant bitterness. As time was running out, I had to leave. It was hard to say goodbye, but I had covered almost all the restaurants I wanted to visit, so I could say it was a perfect trip. I am looking forward to my next visit to Kyoto.

A few minutes' walk from Kawaramachi Station in Kyoto. I stopped by here today. The interior has counter seats and table seats, and the main menu is beer. They also have a variety of snacks. I ordered a medium-sized beer and 2 pieces of bone-in fried chicken. Let's dig in! The beer is a large size and it's Maruef. When you order beer here, they also bring popcorn as a service while you wait for your food. However, the popcorn was a bit soggy this time, which was disappointing. One of the fried chicken pieces was a chicken wing. The flavor was quite strong, making it a good match for beer. Well, bon appétit! The cost performance is not particularly good, but it's easy to stop by, which is a plus.

I visited Munich, but it was full so I ended up at "Beer Stand Munich" where there was a table available. This place is divided into three sections: the main Munich restaurant where I often have lunch, the Beer Stand Munich with counter seats, and the smoking allowed House Munich. Each place has its own unique menu items. I discovered a "drinking set" here that I've never seen at the other two places. It includes a draft beer and two small dishes, available from 12-6pm. The small dishes were tacos, crab cream croquettes, potato fries, and a mini omelette. You can also add additional small dishes for an extra charge. I also tried the dice steak, which was tender and glazed, served with bean sprouts. The beer was delicious, the snack options were plentiful, and the staff, especially the energetic lady at the counter, were great!

There are always some restaurants that catch your eye but you end up ignoring them. However, when you finally decide to give them a try, it turns out to be a big hit. You regret why you didn't visit them earlier. This time, the restaurant that marked the end of my trip to Kyoto was exactly one of those places. After leaving Mitsubachi, I visited Shimogamo Shrine and then returned to Gion to buy souvenirs. The final stop was at the Yagi Gion store, which I missed visiting yesterday. When I arrived, I was shocked to see a long line of waiting customers outside the store. Since I had time before my return Shinkansen, I couldn't wait. Oh well, let's go back to Kawaramachi and find another place. However, even there, all the places were full. Wait, there's a special place right in front of me! This is a beer hall that I have been curious about for over ten years since I started visiting Kyoto, but I always ignored it because they serve Asahi beer (I'm not a big fan of Asahi Dry). Alright, let's go here. I took a seat at the counter and decided to go for the happy hour set available until 6 pm. The set included a glass of beer and two appetizers for 1100 yen. I chose roast beef and fried chicken as my appetizers. The beer and complimentary popcorn arrived promptly. The beer was crisp and poured perfectly, it was irresistible. The saltiness of the popcorn complemented the beer well. Delicious. The following dishes were as follows: Roast beef was so delicious. The meat itself was excellent. I don't think you can find roast beef this good often. The fried chicken was also very tasty. No complaints at all. The Half & Half Jumbo mug was indeed huge, but my expectations were too high. It lacked richness and left me wanting more. After finishing most of the appetizers, I ordered the beef cutlet skewers. The beef cutlet skewers were incredibly delicious. The frying was perfect. The delicate taste of the beef and the richness of the cutlet coating were exquisite. Feeling full, I decided to stop here, but why did I ignore this restaurant before? Well, it doesn't matter. It just means I have more excitement to look forward to next time. With great satisfaction, I was able to conclude my trip. Kyoto trip in 2021, over and out.

The beer was okay, but the gratin was delicious. The service was so-so.
