The cafe used to be run by a couple, with the husband being Italian. The interior was very stylish, but unfortunately, it closed down after just a year. The interior remained almost the same after the closure. The melon soda with cream topping was fizzy and not too sweet. The food menu, however, was more like a retro coffee shop from the Showa era, which was unexpected based on the interior. The area used to be a declining shopping street, but with the addition of coffee stands and cafes like this one, it has become much brighter. The location is also convenient, so I hope it continues to develop further.

I was overwhelmed by the performance of the prima ballerina from the Kiev Ballet, who played the role of the dying swan with arm movements like gentle ripples. Still feeling the emotions from the show, I decided to stop by a cafe in the Miyagawa-cho shopping street to grab dinner. The cafe, which was supposed to be a trendy cotton candy shop, was adorned with congratulatory orchids, which was a bit surprising. Anyway, I was thirsty, so I went in. It turns out that there used to be a bakery called Rokahi Kashiya on the premises, but it closed down after just over a year. The second floor had changed from tatami flooring to hardwood, making it convenient to walk in with shoes on. The space was decorated in refreshing white tones. Tables were set up to accommodate groups ranging from two to six people. Rather than specializing in just coffee or tea, they offered a wide variety of drinks. Perhaps due to the summer season, there was a rich selection of sodas available. Soft drinks were all priced at a flat rate of 500 yen, which was easy to understand. I opted for the Berry Soda, a beautiful red soda with bits of raspberry pulp mixed in. It was sweet, tangy, and refreshing, perfect for cooling down after sweating. My friend had the Matcha Latte, which was quite milky and delicious, according to her. I couldn't help but notice that many shops in the Furukawa-cho shopping street had their shutters down. I had the same impression four years ago, but it seemed like there were even more closed shops this time. It was the cruising day of the Gion Festival, a time when they should be making good sales. I hope these shops will light up and thrive in the future.

I visited a shopping street after a long time and found a new café that had opened. The pastel blue color scheme is refreshing and cute. I tried the Keema curry, which was delicious with a nice kick of spices. The cream soda that other people were drinking looked cute with its glass.
