A popular chain from Tokyo has opened in Kyoto! It seems to be the most talked about place in 2023. The restaurant has long opening hours, a nice atmosphere, and seating available, but it is quite expensive. I made a reservation for 5:30 pm on a holiday. There were some customers without reservations who arrived before me, but it seemed like the restaurant was almost fully booked with reservations.
[What I ate]
Bellini ¥1,050
Lychee Mojito ¥950
Ham Plate ¥1,200
Crispy Fried Potatoes ¥980
Carpaccio ¥1,200
Roasted Bamboo ¥2,000
I'm sorry, but it may be good for breakfast or lunch, but it's difficult to use for dinner. I'm not sure who they are targeting with their concept. There were a lot of nuts and potatoes, but only a small amount of fish. Is it a place to eat or a place to drink? There is only one food menu option with limited choices. The taste itself was neither good nor bad, just "expensive."
The service was also lacking. You have to ask for a new plate, they won't change it automatically. The same goes for refilling your glass, they won't ask if you want another drink. I also forgot something and called 40 minutes later, but they didn't notice until I mentioned it. The service was not bad, but for this price range, I would expect better service.
If you are specifically looking for seating, be aware of the following information on their official website:
- We do not charge a seating fee, but we have a minimum charge for food and drinks.
Brunch: ¥3,500 per person (¥2,000 for children)
Dinner: ¥7,000 per person (¥3,500 for children)
- If your food and drink bill does not meet the minimum charge, you will be asked to pay the difference.
It's quite a bold pricing strategy. This restaurant is part of the Tyson's and Company group, which also operates popular restaurants like CICADA, IVY PLACE, and CRESSCROSS. I have visited several of their establishments and have always thought they were nice, so I may have had high expectations. But for fans of this group, I cannot particularly recommend this place, especially for dinner. I apologize for being critical. Thank you for the meal.
