For my drink, I had an iced fruit rooibos iced tea in peach and mango flavor, which was refreshing and easy to drink. The only downside is that the food takes a while to arrive after ordering, which can be frustrating for someone like me who is impatient. This time, I had some business at Kyoto Daimaru, so I went there for lunch as well. It was a bit crowded because it was lunchtime, but this restaurant felt like a place where you could relax. I couldn't have my revenge from last time, but this time everything went smoothly, and I enjoyed my meal without any problems. After a long time, I went to the afternoon tea room♡ I was craving sweets and couldn't decide what to eat, so I chose the afternoon tea set♡ You can choose 3 sweets and a drink from 9 different options. After much deliberation, we decided to share 6 items: Maron chocolate pound cake, sweet potato pudding, strawberry and ricotta cheese shortcake, strawberry scone, strawberry and caramel nut parfait, and raspberry cheesecake♡ We also had the seasonal limited edition strawberry Darjeeling drink♡ It had a lovely strawberry aroma♡ All the sweets were delicious♡ It was nice to be able to try a little bit of each with my friend♡ I will definitely come back again♡

On weekends, it tends to get crowded. Since I wasn't very hungry, I just ordered a drink, but the chai alone cost around 800 yen. It's quite pricey, but the portion was generous and the mildly sweet taste suited my preference. The seating was spacious and comfortable, making it a pleasant place to spend time.

I had some time before my next appointment, so I went to the Afternoon Tea at Kyoto Daimaru. They were having a "Strawberry Fun!" event, so I ordered a fresh strawberry tea and a strawberry and ricotta shortcake. It took a while for my order to come, and when my drink arrived, it was taken to the wrong table (awkward). The cake arrived about 5 minutes later. In total, I waited about 15 minutes. Also, the fresh strawberry tea I saw on the menu was different from what I received. Later, I checked online and saw that it was supposed to come with homemade strawberry juice. Where was the homemade strawberry juice? I only had 30 minutes, so I hurried to eat and drink. I wish I could have savored it more slowly.

Around 3:00 pm, I visited with one other person. We visited the "Afternoon Tea TEAROOM" located on the 2nd floor of Daimaru Kyoto store. The first "Afternoon Tea" store opened in Shibuya in 1981 as a miscellaneous goods store, and now they have expanded to 6 brands including the one we visited - "TEAROOM". The concept of "TEAROOM" is to create a special moment surrounded by delicious tea, sweets, freshly baked bread, unique sandwiches, and pasta. They aim to provide a relaxed space and attentive service for you to enjoy a pleasant afternoon tea time in your daily life. The tea menu includes various options such as seasonal grapefruit green tea jelly tea, orange earl grey tea sherbet soda, and Chardonnay Darjeeling and Perrier tea lemonade. The sweets menu offers treats like peach and raspberry shortcake, apple pie, and Earl Grey and lemon cheesecake. I tried the Afternoon Tea set which included a variety of desserts and scones with a choice of 3 out of 8 flavors of vanilla ice cream. Overall, it was a delightful experience perfect for relaxing after shopping.

Chestnut and apple Mont Blanc parfait (seasonal parfait)♪ The cinnamon-flavored apple is really delicious. It includes two types of chestnuts, ice cream, Mont Blanc cream, not too sweet whipped cream, apple jelly, and even sweet potato at the bottom, offering a variety of flavors to enjoy.

There was a delay between receiving the black tea and the arrival of the sweets. The originality of the tea was bitter. I asked the staff what kind of tea it was, but they just said, "It's our original tea," without giving more details. It was obvious once I saw it. They should have just served Darjeeling or something more common.

This is an afternoon tea room located at the back of the luxury brand women's clothing section on the 2nd floor of Kyoto Daimaru. As the name suggests, they have a huge variety of tea options. Hot tea comes in a pot, of course. The popular light meal choice is pasta. Around 2-3 o'clock, there are many orders for cakes and afternoon tea sets. I had the Shinshu apple juice for 770 yen. Since it's made from Shinshu apples, it's 100% fruit juice and delicious, but it mostly consisted of ice. Isn't that a bit too much? Look at the amount of ice left at the end. As expected, being on the luxury brand floor, the price was also luxury-priced.

I'm at GW, but I entered the restaurant smoothly without waiting. There weren't many people in Daimaru department store either, right? On Sundays, there is always a line at this restaurant. The inside of the restaurant was almost full, so we sat at a slightly cramped 4-person table because there was a baby stroller. There are many female customers at this restaurant, so the noise of their conversations can be heard. Each of us ordered lunch. The spaghetti was delicious as usual. My wife ordered curry and she really enjoyed it. The main part of the afternoon tea, the tea, also came with lunch and had a nice aroma. The teapot doesn't have tea leaves inside, so it remains delicious until the end even if you leave it for a while. We also ordered the afternoon tea set. We could choose three types of sweets from several options. We chose the Earl Grey whipped cream and citrus jelly parfait, as well as the apricot parfait with two types of grapefruit jelly and ice cream on top. It was delicious. The portion was not too large, and the sweetness was just right, allowing the flavors of the ingredients to shine. The cake had a soft texture and was delicious. It paired perfectly with the tea. I recently tried the famous afternoon tea at The Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong (around 5,800 yen), but this one was definitely more delicious. And it's cheaper too, at 1,664 yen. I will definitely visit again.

On the 2nd floor of Daimaru Kyoto store, towards the back of the floor dedicated to brand items, you'll find a relatively calm atmosphere. It's not overly crowded or noisy, with many solo diners and the occasional group of well-mannered older ladies. It's a good place to enjoy tea, and there are also many people having meals. I decided to have an ice tea and a Mont Blanc cake this time. The cakes here may be hit or miss, with some inconsistency in the sponge cake. The apple pie is a safer choice. They also offer afternoon tea sets, scone sets, and parfaits with generous portions. It's a good place for solo dining, but be prepared for a bit of a wait from ordering to serving. It's best enjoyed when you have a relaxed and leisurely time. Waiting for a table is usually not too long due to decent turnover.

I had a pasta lunch with Genovese sauce topped with salad. However, I think the salad would be better served in a separate dish. One bread roll feels a bit lonely...

When you visit Kyoto Daimaru, you will definitely want to visit this shop. It is easy for solo diners to enter, and the lunch is reasonably priced and a good deal. The afternoon tea comes in a pot, so you can have refills, making it a nice place to relax after a meal.
