You can walk in around 7:30 PM on a Saturday night with no wait and be seated at the well-known curry chain restaurant Go Go Curry! The Kanazawa curry has a thick, flavorful sauce with a sweet and gentle taste that I personally prefer over CoCo Ichibanya curry. This time, I tried the Loco Moco style curry for the first time and it arrived in just a few minutes! The curry is always served quickly here! However, I noticed that they keep fried foods stocked in front of the counter and it seems like they may not have changed the oil since morning, so I was prepared for possible indigestion... The hamburger and fried egg also seemed to be deep-fried in the same fryer! In terms of price, the portion size is satisfying considering the cost. It had been a while since I last ate here, but the taste was consistently delicious.

My wife and I went to Gogo Curry for the first time! We ordered the following: - Roast Pork Cutlet Curry (M) 950 yen - Kirin Ichiban Shibori 350ml can beer 400 yen - Roast Pork Cutlet Curry (S) 850 yen - Coca-Cola Zero 200 yen Total: 2,400 yen (tax included) We had to buy tickets from a vending machine first, which was a new experience for us. We didn't have much time to decide because there was a line behind us, so we quickly chose the Roast Pork Cutlet Curry thinking it must be the famous dish in Kanazawa. I got the medium size with a beer, while my wife got the small size with a Coke Zero. The restaurant only had counter seats, which we found enjoyable. The drinks arrived first, and we were served by a lady who seemed to be from Southeast Asia. The manager, a Japanese man, gave us chilled glasses for our drinks. We expressed our gratitude and enjoyed the refreshing drinks. Now, onto the main point - our thoughts on Gogo Curry: - Good points: - The curry was delicious, with a rich flavor matching its dark color. - The thick curry gave a satisfying and hearty feeling. - The shredded cabbage on the side was a nice touch for a refreshing break. - The free refill of shredded cabbage was a nice service. - The stainless steel plates added to the nostalgic atmosphere. - Eating curry with a fork was fun and fresh. - The unlimited mayonnaise and tartar sauce were a nice bonus. - Disappointing points: - The main star, the roast pork cutlet, was lacking in quality (too fatty, too much leftover frying oil, and tough meat). - The tartar sauce had a generic taste and lacked complexity. - The rice was also not up to par. Overall, we have tried several Kanazawa curries before, but unfortunately, Gogo Curry did not impress us. It might just be a matter of personal preference. Additionally, the Southeast Asian staff members were speaking loudly in their native language, which was a bit distracting and took away from the experience of enjoying Kanazawa Curry. In conclusion, it was a bit disappointing, and we may not visit Gogo Curry again.

I went to a curry restaurant located about a 2-minute walk from Akihabara Station for the first time. It was also my first time trying Go Go Curry. I ordered the Pork Cutlet Curry. It cost 900 yen. I was surprised when it was served in just 1 minute, but it was delicious with crispy cutlet.

It was simply delicious. It was my first time here, so I asked other customers what they recommended, and they told me to try the pork cutlet curry. It was delicious, not particularly special, but tasty. I forgot to take a picture of the curry.

I stopped by after shopping at Yodobashi for the first time in a while. I often eat fried foods, so this time I simply ordered the GoGo Curry for ¥600 from the ticket machine. I was given a bottle of mayonnaise near the ticket machine and then shown to my seat. Shortly after, the GoGo Curry was brought to me. I started by eating the cabbage with mayonnaise and then moved on to the curry with fukujinzuke. I asked for a refill of cabbage and finished my meal! The taste makes me want to eat it again! It was delicious, thank you for the meal!

Visited Go Go Curry in Akihabara, Chiyoda-ku. Go Go Curry is a chain of Kanazawa curry based in Ishikawa Prefecture, with a gorilla as its trademark. The curry is known for its thick and dark roux. It comes with shredded cabbage as a default topping. The nearest station to this location is Akihabara Station, Showa-dori exit, facing the main street on the south side of the station. Inside, there is a ticket machine on the right where you can purchase your meal ticket to hand to the staff before choosing your seat. Seating is only available at the counter. I ordered the medium-sized Pork Cutlet Curry (800 yen) this time. It arrived at my seat within a few minutes, served on a metal plate with a crispy pork cutlet and cabbage topping. The curry has a unique salty flavor that is very delicious. The freshly fried pork cutlet is crispy and easy to eat as it is thinly sliced. Although there are no other toppings, that's what I expected from this type of curry. However, I felt that the amount of curry was slightly less compared to the rice. The option to add a pork cutlet for 800 yen is satisfying in terms of cost performance. If you just want to fill your stomach, opting for the no-topping large size might be a good choice. Thank you for the meal.

Kanazawa is famous for its curry, but I'm not sure what defines Kanazawa curry. I ordered the katsu curry, which is a rich, dark curry with a deep flavor, topped with a pork cutlet and cabbage. I also ordered the side dish of rakkyo. If this is what Kanazawa curry tastes like, then I love it. The slightly thick curry has a classic curry taste. However, I don't like eating off a stainless steel plate with a fork because I don't like the sound of metal scraping. I would prefer to eat it on a regular plate with a spoon.

Go Go Curry Akihabara 1st Store [Nice Protein] 2023 Curry 017 Store 018th Meal January 16, 2023 3443rd Curry Meal since 2017 - Manhattan Small Portion 1050 yen - Selected Chicken Cutlet - Shrimp Fry - 2 Sausages - Boiled Egg - All-you-can-eat Cabbage In the evening, I felt like eating curry from a regular chain store. I also wanted it to be near Kanda Akihabara station. That's how I ended up here at Go Go Curry Akihabara 1st Store. It is located facing south towards Akihabara station. I chose the Manhattan small portion at the ticket machine to the right after entering the door. When asked if I wanted to have it with pork cutlet or chicken cutlet, I chose chicken cutlet since I had pork cutlet curry for lunch. The staff are mostly foreign part-timers. They seemed a bit rushed as they were planning to close early that day. Everyone was cheerful. The expected Manhattan dish arrived with chicken cutlet, sausages, shrimp fry, and boiled egg. I was pleased with the generous serving of rich curry sauce, stainless steel plate, and plenty of shredded cabbage. It's the Kanazawa curry tradition to eat with a fork or a split spoon. I enjoyed it. Happy ending.

Gogo Curry Akihabara 1st Store, Double Cutlet Curry, Medium Size for 1000 yen. Originating from Kanazawa, Gogo Curry offers a unique curry with high viscosity sauce served over rice. The dish includes two impressive portions of pork and chicken cutlets, along with cabbage on the side. Eating it with cabbage gives a light taste, while eating it with cutlets makes it a hearty meal. It's a curry that will become addictive. Located a 5-minute walk from Akihabara Station at 1-16-1 Kanda Sakumacho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. #GogoCurry #DoubleCutletCurry #Curry #CutletCurry #ChickenCurry #PorkCutletCurry #LocalCurry #KanazawaCurry #AkihabaraGourmet #TokyoGourmet #Lunch #LunchCrawl

Finally got to try the real deal! It felt like the two staff members were speaking in their native language, so it was a bit confusing when they told us to buy a ticket that we didn't understand. We looked back towards the entrance and saw a ticket counter where we ordered a regular GoGo Curry (small). Two young Asian-looking guys started making the curry that we ordered. After waiting for about 3 minutes, a pork cutlet curry was served. It was difficult to eat as it was hard to tell how much rice, curry, and pork cutlet were in the dish. Despite the challenges, we managed to finish it. The curry was not spicy and lacked depth, tasting like a dark, overcooked broth. The pork cutlet was tough and over-fried, leaving a lasting impression of its hardness. Will Kanazawa's famous "GoGo Curry" be able to survive in Tokyo?

I went there for the first time because I wanted to try it. I ordered a medium size and it was a lot... Quite a lot. But the cutlet was freshly fried, flavorful, and the free cabbage refill was amazing! It was the perfect meal for when you're hungry!

It's no exaggeration to say that Kanazawa curry has been spread nationwide! In my personal opinion, the Go Go Curry is more like a curry-flavored sauce than curry rice, so it goes really well with tonkatsu and cabbage. The tonkatsu is perfect with the thin and crispy coating that matches the curry. You can also go all out with the toppings for a punchy flavor, but for me, when it comes to curry, the tonkatsu I ordered this time is the way to go!

[First Visit on July 27, 2022] A shop located along the "Akihabara Station Mae Minami-dori" street, near the TX line platform, after exiting from JR Akihabara Station's "Showa-dori Exit" towards the "Kanda River" direction. The stamp rally for the upcoming "Kanda Curry Grand Prix" will finally begin next week! I have obtained the "Grand Meister" to "Gold Meister" cards in the past two years, and this year, I am aiming for the "Silver Meister" card. Yes, I am planning to collect cards of all different colors! While checking the entry stores, I noticed that chain stores that did not participate in the past two times are now joining, one of which is "Go Go Curry." Although this is not the entry store, I just need to visit next week as part of the entry stores. This time, I decided to visit this shop. I arrived around 8:30 pm on a weekday evening, with about 8 male customers in the shop. I chose a unique menu item this time! The "Hawaiian Loco Moco-style Curry," a menu item I had never seen before. The dish arrived in 5 minutes, and at first glance, I understood... it had a unique visual appeal. The curry, served on a silver plate as is characteristic of Kanazawa curry, was topped with shredded cabbage in one corner. On top of that, there was a hamburger patty and a sunny-side-up egg... no other decorations. However, the hamburger patty seemed to have been deep-fried along with something else, as it had a crispy texture on the surface and surprisingly delicious! The sunny-side-up egg, with a solidly cooked surface and a runny yolk inside, was also tasty. It seems that this shop excels in making junk food toppings taste delicious without losing their authenticity. I thought that there must be a solid reason why this shop has been able to expand its presence in Tokyo... The way they pour the sauce overflowing from the hamburger patty onto the gooey curry, the fans of this shop must love it... The system where Japanese men lead and foreign women support seems to be well-educated, as everyone notices things well... Compared to my previous visit, it felt like the prices had increased, but it's still affordable and fast... Especially at this shop, the reasons for its success are easy to understand. I will definitely come back... Thank you for the meal.

Today, due to the impact of the coronavirus, I couldn't go to my usual afternoon workplace and ended up going to Kamiyacho instead. I decided to have lunch in Akihabara since Kamiyacho is about two stations away. However, after checking on NAVITIME, I found out that it would take more than 20 minutes to get there. So, I searched for a restaurant near the station where I could eat and visited this famous chain. In the past, I would have ordered the Major, but lately, I haven't had much appetite, so I chose the Medium. It took a little longer than I expected, but I managed to get my food within my target time. I thought curry was meant to be eaten with a spoon, but they provided a fork here. It makes sense since using a spoon for chicken cutlet would be awkward. I started by eating the shredded cabbage first. It was a bit bothersome to have to take the remaining cutlet off the fork each time I wanted to eat the curry and rice after taking a bite of the cutlet. Then I heard someone asking for more cabbage. I was just thinking that there wasn't much cabbage left, so I wondered if refills were free. I checked the restaurant's information and saw that refills were indeed free, so I asked for more cabbage. Surprisingly, the refill cabbage arrived in a gravy boat. It was a truly strange experience from start to finish.

Go Go Curry was a new experience for me. I was impressed by the fact that this kind of curry exists. It was really delicious. However, I felt a bit unsatisfied. The pork cutlet was tasty, but I was craving for a more meaty flavor. Well, it was delicious though.

As someone from Nagoya, I had always been curious about CoCo Ichibanya since coming to Tokyo. Finally, I went there! It was a new experience for me, with curry served with a surprising cutlet as a regular menu item. I was shocked! It was a hearty meal and only 800 yen, which was a great deal. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I was feeling hungry and happened to see a yellow and red sign that caught my eye. I was drawn in by the Kanazawa curry, Go Go Curry! Even the small portion had quite a lot of food. Soft 150g (order directly to the staff), Small 200g, Medium 300g, Large 400g, Special 500g. Served on a stainless steel plate! The curry sauce was thick and rich, and the fork felt light in my hand despite the substantial amount of food. The curry had a rich and dense texture, and the rice stuck to it well. The pork cutlet was thin and lean, with a crispy coating that was easy to bite into. The consistency of the coating was similar to processed fish cakes. There was sauce on the table, which I used on the cabbage, along with some pickles. I am a fan of adding lots of pickles until the cabbage is no longer visible. The issue of Go Go Curry often discussed is the lack of curry sauce compared to the amount of rice, but you can manage it with pickles and sauce(?). Surprisingly, I was able to finish the small portion. Just before that, I had three L-sized hot chicken pieces and an onigiri from the convenience store. That left me feeling a bit unsatisfied! Maybe I should try the large portion next time... I miss the Chan Curry from Kanazawa. Thank you for the meal. March, Thursday, 1:20-1:50 PM.

I came to Akihabara for shopping in autumn 2022 and got hungry, but surprisingly, many of the restaurants were small and crowded. I wandered around and ended up trying this place that was empty haha. It's located along Akihabara Station front South Street, somewhat close to Showa Street. It's a small shop with two rows of counter seats and partitions between them. Since it was empty, it was no problem. I bought a ticket at the ticket machine on the right after entering and handed it to the staff. I ordered the GoGo Curry (small size for 550 yen including tax). It was ready in just 5 minutes. Water is self-service, and you can help yourself to Fukujinzuke. The curry looks typical, with rice piled on a silver plate and thick curry sauce drizzled lightly. Cabbage is served in the corner. The curry is not very spicy, moderately spicy, moderately salty, with a complex mix of meaty and slight sour flavors, creating a rich taste. It's the kind of curry that makes you want to eat more rice. The rice grains are separate, but like other places, they lack stickiness and transparency. The unique taste of the curry, which I personally like, made me finish it in no time. This speediness is great. Restaurants in Akihabara are often crowded, so this place where you can eat quickly early on is a convenient option.

The nearest station is JR Akihabara Station, a 2-minute walk away. I suddenly felt like eating and visited for lunch. The first time I ate here was 15 years ago, after moving to Akihabara to buy a map at the Yodobashi Book Tower. I've been living around here for a long time, and it feels nostalgic. Once you get hooked on the taste of Go Go Curry, you sometimes crave it. Although you can now buy the retort curry roux, eating at the restaurant is still more delicious. This time, I bought the Rosukatsu Curry in a small size (750 yen). The Rosukatsu Curry has a black, thick roux, neatly shredded cabbage, and a thin, large cutlet on a stainless steel plate, making you eager to eat. I recognize this taste as Kanazawa Curry. I also like toppings like shrimp fry and sausage, but this time I chose Rosukatsu. It's a classic but it's my favorite. The spork is also nice. Thank you for the meal.

When it comes to Go Go Curry, I no longer think of it as a curry place, but rather as a place to eat cabbage (lol). Today, I tried the shrimp fry for the first time!! Usually, I go for the pork cutlet, but for some reason, I avoided it this time because I have tonkatsu reserved for Saturday! Also, I'm not a big fan of chicken, and I always get extra cabbage with mayonnaise. The water here is good, unlike the terrible water at Yodobashi above. Maybe Yodobashi has bad water pipes? The shrimp fry is smaller in portion compared to the cutlet, but I managed to finish it and I'm happy about it!! I used to be able to finish the medium pork cutlet with extra cabbage, but now it's become impossible. It's sad that I can't finish everything anymore!! But today, I did it!! Yay! Maybe it's because I started playing boxing on the Switch!
