I used to come here often because I passed by the neighborhood frequently, but after the pandemic, it started to get crowded and I couldn't eat without waiting in line. This day, I happened to pass by around 9 pm because I had some errands at night, so I was able to eat without waiting in line. They had Premium Malt on the menu (I didn't really notice it before because I used to come during the day) and there was an option for Yuzu beer, so I tried it. It seems like they mix Yuzu juice in it? It has a craft beer-like taste. Both the drink and the ramen are delicious, worth the price. Beer and ramen for ¥2,220.

I recently had no appetite, which I attribute to the unusually hot weather. I was curious about the long line outside "AFURI Harajuku" the other day, so I decided to visit today. The interior of the restaurant is very stylish, fitting for the location, and they offer vegan-friendly dishes as well. Since it's so hot, I decided to order a cold dish today. I chose the whole wheat ultra-thin noodles with seared chashu. The customers inside were also stylish and seemed to fit the location. The dish I ordered was served promptly. The soup seemed a bit salty, maybe a bit high in salt content. The summer limited menu offers a choice between whole wheat ultra-thin noodles and pho, but the thin noodles paired well with the yuzu-scented soup. It felt slightly salty, maybe to enhance the flavor since it's a cold dish. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. I wonder what the transparent gelatin on top is.

I had errands in Harajuku and got a little hungry, so I searched for a nearby restaurant. I was surprised to see many foreign customers inside, but when I saw that they had a vegan option on the menu, I understood why. I tried the recommended yuzu salt ramen, which had a light and refreshing soup that paired well with the thin noodles. I finished it all. Just a heads up, they don't accept cash, so be careful.

Foreigners were recommended tonkotsu ramen, but this yuzu shio ramen shop was mostly foreigners! First, buy a meal ticket on the left side as you enter, using the cashless vending machine, then line up. Even on a rainy afternoon at 4 o'clock, I waited for at least 10 minutes. People seem to take longer to eat here, maybe because they're sipping on alcohol or not used to chopsticks? The taste was refreshing as expected, with a delicious broth that makes you want to drink it all. The thin noodles provided a nice texture, and the seared chashu was tender and tasty. I might bring some foreigners who only know tonkotsu ramen next time.

Today's lunch was at AFURI Harajuku. AFURI is known for its yuzu salt ramen, so I ordered that. I chose the seared chashu option. The ramen had a sophisticated flavor with a strong yuzu aroma.

I visited AFURI in Harajuku, which originally was in Ebisu. I went on a Tuesday night and found that there were many foreigners around. The ramen had a warm yuzu aroma and a gentle taste that enveloped me. I went for recovery after running, and it gave me energy.

This shop, which is a big fan of yuzu, seems to be featured in foreign guidebooks, as there are many foreigners lining up even before it opens. The shop is completely cashless, and the ticket machine is multilingual. The staff provides paper aprons for foreigners when they sit down, and everyone seems happy to wear them. The taste is simple. I tried the yuzu salt ramen, and it tasted just as I imagined. The beer with yuzu flavor was also delicious. This shop seems to aim to tickle the sense of Japanese culture that foreigners often imagine, for better or for worse. It may not fully satisfy ramen enthusiasts, but for someone like me, it was satisfying.

I couldn't participate in the U's Infinity Day event 39 years ago, but I attended M's Infinity Day event at Yoyogi First, where the entrance scene reminiscent of the legendary 2-minute 2-second freeze of Maiko's live in Bucharest was explosive. It ended with a stable feeling of happiness, it was a wonderful live performance. It's all about human power. After the show, I thought Harajuku Station would be crowded, so I searched for nearby shops open after 10 pm and found AFURI. I arrived around 10 pm and waited for about 7 minutes. The ramen was golden in color, light but flavorful. The yuzu not only added acidity but also contributed to the soup. The thin straight noodles paired well with the sharpness of the soup. The thick slices of chashu and finely chopped menma were well thought out. It's a great choice for ramen at this time. The ramen is highly praised by a Japanese-speaking local employee from Taiwan, and the quality is evident. The price may seem a bit high, but considering the location, it's understandable.

A few minutes walk from Harajuku Station. Amabie Tsukemen costs around 1400 yen. I occasionally visit this place for business, and even though there were about 10 people lined up outside, I decided to give it a try after seeing no one around 3 pm. The inside of the restaurant was lively, with many foreigners. Some people were spending close to 3000 yen per person, including drinks. The ticket machine had English support and clear pictures. It was a completely cashless system, so I had to buy a ticket at the machine and then wait inside for my order. I ended up waiting for about 10 minutes. Surrounded by foreigners, I felt like I was in another country. The noodles had a good chewy texture and were satisfying to eat, with a delicious taste. I would recommend visiting during non-peak hours to avoid the long lines.

A few minutes walk from Takeshita Street exit of Harajuku Station. Visited with 2 people around 12pm on a holiday. There were about 5 groups waiting inside and outside the store. The impression was that there were quite a few foreign customers. The store only has counter seats. There is a toilet. In the corner of the store, there are baskets that can be used to store belongings. When you are guided inside, first purchase a meal ticket at the machine on the left after entering. Cashless payment only, no cash accepted. While waiting for a seat to open up, the staff will come to check the meal ticket. Once guided to the seat, receive a glass of water and a paper apron. After a short wait, the ramen arrives. Next, the chashu rice also arrives. The staff seemed busy but they were polite and friendly. Order: Yuzu Shio Ramen (Light) - The yuzu aroma is just right, the soup is not heavy, rather refreshing. The noodles are thin. The menma is also thin, more like bamboo shoots than menma! The egg is perfectly cooked, the yolk is runny but not too much, just right! The chashu is thick and the smoky flavor from searing is amazing! Delicious! - Seared Chashu Rice - In the center is grated daikon radish. Just like the chashu in the ramen, the smoky and charred flavor is irresistibly delicious! It may feel juicier than the chashu in the ramen. It doesn't feel too heavy. Set price for the above two items: ¥1719 (tax included ¥1890)

Yuzu salt ramen During my business trip to Harajuku, I found a shop with long lines every day near my stay ✨ Upon researching, I found out that it was AFURI Harajuku, a shop that has been featured in the Michelin guide before. Today, the line was relatively short so I decided to wait and see. I was able to enter the shop after a 10-minute wait. From there, I had to wait in line again. As expected, being featured in Michelin and being close to Takeshita Street, there were many foreign customers as well. Orders are placed through a ticket machine, where you purchase a ticket and hand it to the staff. The ticket machine had a multi-language system, which I had never seen in a ramen shop before. The interior of the shop was stylish and clean, making it feel safe for a woman to dine alone. After another 10 minutes or so, it was finally my turn to purchase a ticket. Everything on the menu looked delicious, but since it was my first time, I went with the shop's recommended yuzu salt ramen and a beer. You can choose between seared pork chashu and chicken chashu for toppings. I chose the seared pork. You can also choose between thin noodles and medium-thick noodles. I chose the medium-thick noodles. You can also choose the amount of chicken oil. I chose the AFURI standard light chicken oil. Other toppings included mizuna, half-boiled egg, thinly sliced bamboo shoots, and roasted seaweed. When I sat down, I was surprised when they asked, "Would you like to use a paper apron?" This level of hospitality is probably well-received by women and foreign tourists. When the ramen arrived, the first thing that caught my eye was the transparent soup with a golden bottom. The taste was also exquisite, with a subtle hint of yuzu. It was really delicious. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely visit again. #afuri #afuriharajuku #afuri #ramen #ramenadventures #ramenlovers #rameninstagram #ramenlover #ramenclub #ramenlove #ramenpatrol #ramenenthusiast #ramen #tokyogourmet #tokyoramen

On a regular night, I started lining up around 6:30 pm and after about 30 minutes, I was able to get a seat. There were quite a few foreigners in line, probably due to the location. They operate on a ticket system and do not accept cash, so be aware of that. I ordered the yuzu salt ramen. The noodles were thin and the flavor was very light with a noticeable yuzu taste. Personally, I prefer a richer ramen, but I can see why this place is popular as it's a flavor that you can eat bowl after bowl of.

During the day, this strange restaurant always has a long line, with most of the customers being foreigners. It's also quite busy at night, but on this day, I decided to stop by after drinking. They only have ticket machines and don't accept cash, truly a modern establishment. I ordered the Yuzu Spicy Ramen with extra yuzu, just like last time. I think it was around 1,490 yen, which seemed ridiculously expensive. It looks really spicy with its bright red color, but the spiciness is actually not that strong. The dominant flavor is the sourness from the yuzu. It's more like drinking pure yuzu juice than soup, but the aroma of the bonito is solid, so no need to worry. However, it's still quite pricey. If a strong yen appreciation happens in the future, its true value might be questioned.

I had a craving for African soy sauce ramen after a long time and decided to go to a second ramen shop for my last meal. It was delicious as expected! The thin noodles slide down smoothly and the soup has a rich flavor that warms you up even when you're full. I managed to slip in just before closing time, but the place was packed. I had soy sauce ramen for lunch as well, and it was insanely delicious!

There is always a long line during lunchtime at Afuri Harajuku. I arrived around 11:30 and waited for about 15 minutes. I tried the yuzu-scented salt ramen with seared chashu. The soup was clear and refreshing, just as I had imagined, and the thin straight noodles were easy to eat with an elegant taste. The seared chashu bowl was also delicious, with a smoky aroma from charcoal grilling and a refreshing touch of grated daikon. The water was also tasty. The set cost 1650 yen, making it a luxurious lunch in my opinion.

I arrived at the restaurant around 12:30 on a regular day and although the place was full, there was no line so I was able to be seated in about 5 minutes. I ordered the Yuzu Shio Ramen (extra chicken oil, roasted pork chashu) for ¥1,180. The clear soup with a hint of yuzu is a unique feature of Afuri. Even with extra chicken oil, the soup was refreshing and delicious. The chicken oil was light and not overpowering, with a pleasant roasted chicken flavor. The noodles were thin and firm, complementing the soup well. The toppings included sliced bamboo shoots, roasted pork chashu, seasoned egg, komatsuna, and seaweed. Personally, I really enjoyed the seasoned egg. It was not too rich and melted in the mouth, pairing perfectly with the yuzu flavor. Depending on the timing, there may be a line of about 10 people, but the turnover is quick so the wait is not too long. Despite being a ramen shop, the interior was not greasy. Another plus point was that they only accept cashless payments.

- MENU - Yuzu Salt Ramen 1,180 yen - Sayuri's Notes - - Cash not accepted - Specializing in charcoal-grilled chashu - Suitable for friends, individuals, or couples - Sayuri's Review - A popular ramen shop in Harajuku. This shop has several branches in Tokyo such as Shinjuku and Ebisu. The shop has limited seating at the counter, but the turnover is fast so you don't have to wait long to get in! This time, I tried the most popular Yuzu Salt Ramen. The refreshing scent of yuzu fills the ramen. The golden soup, extracted from domestic chicken and aromatic vegetables, is beautiful! It's light but packed with flavor. The chashu is grilled over charcoal, making it tender, juicy, and incredibly delicious. A great choice for ramen in Harajuku. Thank you for the meal!

I went to AFURI, located a 2-3 minute walk north from Harajuku Station, to try their Yuzu Salt Ramen and Torched Chashu Rice (1580 yen). AFURI is popular, with a wait of about 5 people outside on holidays around 12:30 pm. The interior has a central kitchen surrounded by a counter in a U-shape. The ticket machine is now cashless only. I chose the richer flavor option for the Yuzu Salt Ramen, which is light but with a more creamy broth. The noodles are made with whole wheat flour and are of high quality, complementing the gentle saltiness of the ramen well. The Torched Chashu Rice bowl had a decent amount of chashu rolls, although it felt a bit pricey at almost 600 yen. AFURI may not be the place to look for cost performance, but all the ingredients were delicious and it was a satisfying meal overall. Thank you for the meal.

This shop is so famous in Harajuku for ramen that it's the first one that comes to mind. It was my first visit, and the Harajuku branch is completely cashless. I tried the "Yuzu Salt Ramen" and the "Seared Char Siu Rice." The soup had a light but flavorful broth that I couldn't help but drink up. It's no wonder this place has a lot of female fans. The seared char siu had a good amount of volume, and on top of it was grated daikon, which paired well with the juicy char siu. It was easy to eat and delicious. There was a big sign in front of the shop that said on August 8th, for their 13th anniversary, ramen (Yuzu Salt, Yuzu Soy, Salt, Soy) was only 500 yen! This ramen is like a perfect example of a well-balanced dish. Be sure to follow me on Instagram @mynamestsukasa and TikTok @gourmet_nikki!

I have visited this restaurant several times and I am very familiar with the taste, but on this day, I ordered their tsukemen and it was consistently delicious. The slight spiciness increased my appetite, and the use of yuzu was a great accent. I came here for a meal after drinking, but I easily finished it. I plan to come back again.
