A valuable seafood izakaya in the neighborhood. The lively and energetic atmosphere always makes this place a favorite! The wasabi here is delicious, especially when paired with grated radish and small dried fish. The recommended crab cream croquette is also quite tasty! For the last dish, you can choose from options like rice cooked in a pot, yakisoba, ramen, seafood bowl, etc., which can be a tough decision. Being a place that excels in fried foods, if they had tempura or tempura soba, it would make me want to visit even more! The fact that smoking is allowed at the table seats is also a plus for smokers.

The izakaya is located a bit far from Harajuku Station, about a 15-minute walk. The fish and snacks are quite delicious, and the prices are reasonable. The place was crowded with people of all ages. Even after drinking quite a bit, the bill was around 8,000 yen per person, which I think is good value for money.

I was rejected by my usual favorite restaurant, and then another, until I finally arrived at the third one. I had lunch here once before and I still remember how delicious the miso soup was. I started with a Kirin Lager to quench my thirst, followed by the sea bream and mackerel. I have become quite enamored with the fatty sea bream, and the mackerel, with just the right amount of fat, was also delicious. I somehow managed to finish my beer quickly and ordered a Dassai sparkling sake without noticing the presence of Hoppy. The kitchen staff, consisting of two men, had a young man in his mid-twenties in charge of the side dishes. The tamagoyaki he made, although not perfect in form, was so delicious that I could eat it every day. And the fried octopus, with a slightly sweet and tangy sauce, paired perfectly with the lightly fried octopus. I was impressed by that young man's skills.

I tried a seafood bowl at an izakaya in the Sendagaya to Jingumae area for lunch, but it seems they are currently taking a break from serving lunch. The seafood bowl I had that day was delicious. It came with miso soup and small side dishes, which I appreciated. I would like to try going there for dinner sometime.

It's a bit far from Harajuku Station, but it's nice that they cover the taxi fare! However, the food takes quite a long time to come out, and the taste doesn't compare to the Ebisu main branch! The staff members have nice smiles, so I hope they do their best in the future! By the way, I recommend the 7-piece sashimi platter!

We arrived around 12:30 with a group of about 5 people, but we were seated right away. There were about 2-3 other groups inside. You can choose from 4 different lunch options, and today I had the Negi-toro Tororo Don for ¥1,100. I ordered and it arrived in about 5-10 minutes. This restaurant is known for their delicious fish dishes, and the Negi-toro was no exception. The tender, melt-in-your-mouth negi-toro paired perfectly with the tororo, and the nori added a nice flavor. The rice in the bowl is vinegared, making it easy to eat even with a large portion. I personally recommend the miso soup as well, it has a rich flavor from the fish broth. This place is always delicious and has plenty of seating, so it's a great choice when you're craving fish. Just be aware that you need to pay upfront.

The restaurant has a spacious seating area with families, creating a cozy atmosphere. It was my first visit as I wanted to try their seafood dishes. All the fish were fresh and delicious, living up to its reputation as a popular spot! Despite the young staff, they provided attentive service, making for a tasty and enjoyable dining experience. I will definitely visit again!

I came back for the second time! This time, I tried something different at a shop that makes you want to bring someone along. I ordered a dish that goes well with sake, perfect for two people. The mackerel with ginger is always a good choice! The owner apparently runs a fish store during the day...

A hidden gem found after a round of golf♪ This local spot, loved by stylish locals, is hard to come across unless you're in the area. They always have fresh ingredients and you can't go wrong with anything you order! And the best part is, the prices are surprisingly affordable! The amount of deep-fried bone senbei felt like I got my calcium intake for the whole year haha. It was delicious, I forgot to take a picture of the [Crab Cream Croquette] which was also amazing! Definitely a place I want to visit again and again.

The state of emergency has been lifted, and the number of COVID-19 cases in Tokyo has dropped to double digits, so restaurants are working hard to reopen. Had a beer toast for the first visit at Uomamire Shinkichi Harajuku branch! Enjoyed a sashimi platter for two with 7 types of sashimi, followed by shochu. There was a mix-up where the mackerel salt-grilled dish turned into grilled sweetfish, but the quality of the fish was high and it was a cost-effective restaurant. The staff were cheerful and provided excellent service, even accommodating our increase in party size later on. We had a fun and delicious meal. Thank you for the feast.

A perfect place for everyday dining for me and my partner, it's probably the place we visit most frequently. Originally a fish market, this restaurant offers a wide range of seafood dishes perfect for izakaya-style dining. Everything we eat here is delicious, and the atmosphere is always lively and fun with friendly staff. Near the National Stadium, there is a fish izakaya that I have visited a few times after work. It's a great place to enjoy delicious fish with drinks. I always order the sashimi platter, which usually includes about 5 types of thickly sliced fish, making it visually appealing and satisfying to eat. I also appreciate the variety of vegetable dishes, such as raw eggplant and fava beans, which are often seasonal. I was once recommended the giant oysters from Iwate, which were incredibly large and flavorful. The staff are energetic and friendly, often suggesting their recommended dishes. Even when the place is busy, the drinks arrive promptly. The restaurant has both outdoor seating and traditional tatami rooms, and it can get quite crowded on Fridays, so it's best to call ahead. Smoking is allowed, which may be a plus for smokers but a downside for non-smokers. I can't wait to go back, enjoy a beer, and toast with delicious sashimi again soon.

"Shinkichi" is a seafood restaurant with five locations in Tokyo. The one near Harajuku Station has a cozy, traditional atmosphere. They offer a variety of dishes, including a delicious sashimi platter, cabbage salad with crispy potatoes, smoked fugu ham and cheese, and more. The prices are reasonable, and the portion sizes are generous. The overall experience was enjoyable, and the bill for two people was around 10,000 yen. The restaurant has a calm ambiance, attracting an older crowd. I am curious to try their other locations as well.

According to the health management app, it is recommended to eat a balanced meal, so here it is. The store sells fresh fish, offers takeout orders via phone and app, showing a proactive attitude towards survival. Inside the store, I ordered the "Salted Mackerel Set Meal" with a small portion of rice, along with a side salad and natto for an additional 900 yen. The freshly grilled mackerel has a crispy skin and juicy meat. The salad includes small fish, hijiki seaweed, pickled radish, natto, and trefoil in red miso soup, served with white rice. It's a perfect combination. The mackerel is rich in flavor and juices. All of this for 900 yen is a great deal. Looking back, it has been about a year since my last visit, and it seems like I ordered almost the same meal last time.

Upon waking up, the first thing that came to mind was "Wasn't today supposed to be a day off." I had indulged a bit too much on Sunday. I managed to make it to work and finish my morning tasks. As lunchtime approached, I didn't have a particular craving for anything. I decided to have some miso soup for the sake of my body. I ended up at this place. I had been here before and I think I wrote a review, but for some reason, it seems to be gone, so this is my first post. There were two types of seafood bowls and one grilled fish set. I chose the salted mackerel set. It arrived quickly, in about 5 minutes. The mackerel grilled on the fish griller was the highlight. I added natto for an extra ¥100. It was a typical Japanese set meal, with well-cooked, juicy mackerel that paired well with the rice. The miso soup warmed me up from the inside. If you're looking for a fish-based lunch around here, this place is reliable. On a side note, I don't pour soy sauce on the grated daikon served with the grilled fish. The fish already has enough saltiness, so I see the daikon as a refreshing element to balance it out. Pouring soy sauce on it just doesn't feel right to me. But looking around, it seems like pouring soy sauce is a reflex for most people. Am I in the minority here?

The street from Sendagaya to Gaien Higashi-dori has a quiet atmosphere, unlike the hustle and bustle of Harajuku. In that area, there is a small izakaya called "Uomamire Shinkichi" with a sign that shines next to it. Inside, there are table seats, counter seats, and tatami seats, creating a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. I visited with former colleagues from my company. We had simmered fish head for 100 yen, a sashimi platter with five types of fish for 780 yen, firefly squid, horse mackerel, and more. We also had tempura squid, dashimaki tamago, tomatoes, tuna with cilantro, and anglerfish simmered in miso for 380 yen each. We also enjoyed bottled beer, cold sake, and other drinks. This izakaya is part of a chain with five locations in Tokyo. The fish sourced from Toyosu Market is very fresh and high quality. The firefly squid sashimi we had was fresh and flavorful, while the simmered fish head in a mirin-based sauce was worth the wait. The shiny fish head cooked in a rich broth melted in our mouths, creating a truly happy dining experience.

The sashimi is delicious! The other dishes are also tasty but slightly on the salty side!

A cozy izakaya with a tatami room. I've been here about 10 times, sometimes with friends after picking up my child from nursery, and sometimes with family. The fish dishes are delicious, but when I'm with kids, we often end up sharing yakisoba or karaage, while the adults enjoy dishes like ankimo, shirako, and 8 pieces of sushi. The salad with cilantro is also tasty, and it's fun that the menu changes with the seasons. However, on the last day of Golden Week in 2019, the sushi and fish dishes weren't as good, perhaps because the fish market was closed. Since then, I haven't been back. The kids love being able to choose a candy on their way out, which is a nice touch. As a family that doesn't usually buy sweets, this service is greatly appreciated by the kids. Since it's nearby, I'm sure we'll be back again.
