Akihabara Lunch Walk. I walked along the road with my boss, without crossing Showa Street. Today, we went to Kanda Matsunaga-cho nearby. The underground yakitori restaurant we were aiming for was closed. So, my boss suggested going for sushi, and we headed to "Asahi Sushi Main Store" for the third time. We pushed the door and entered. The floor had a left dogleg layout. There was a green counter in the back left corner. We sat at a table in front of the counter. The restaurant was about half full, with only male customers. It was the opposite of "Nichijou Chahanji Izumi" we visited yesterday. This was my third time having lunch at this restaurant. The previous two times, I had the "nigiri" set (1,100 yen), so today, I decided to try something different. I ordered the "two kinds of rice bowl" (1,100 yen) from the menu. The restaurant is run by two chefs. It's quite popular, so if you arrive late during lunchtime, it can take a while for your food to be served, so be careful. Even today, a customer who arrived slightly after us seemed in a hurry to eat and leave. We entered at 12:07, and the sushi was served at 12:22. We waited for 15 minutes. During lunchtime, the later you arrive, the longer the wait time. If you're late, it might be better to visit after the lunch rush. Now, the "two kinds of rice bowl" looked different from what I expected, which was a pleasant surprise. It wasn't a regular-sized bowl with two types of toppings but rather two small bowls with anago bowl and sashimi and negitoro bowl. Oh, that's interesting! It somehow made me feel like I got a good deal. I could enjoy each one thoroughly, so the satisfaction level was high. Especially the anago bowl, which I don't eat often (other than anago rice from train station bento), made me happy. I enjoyed it with wasabi. The rice in the bowls was vinegared rice, which tasted a bit too sour. Perhaps there was more vinegar in the rice compared to nigiri. The miso soup was clam miso soup, which was normal. For dessert, you could choose between coffee jelly or almond jelly. Today, I chose almond jelly. I always feel captivated by these miniature things (like the small rice bowls today) – it's funny. Thank you for the meal.
