TAKEGOJP
Specializing in Japanese-style stir-fried pork restaurant. @ Akihabara, August 2023, the third Friday. "Meat"! (laughs) I had a flash in Shinjuku. I thought about having lunch at "Choshunkan" since it's Friday. It was hot outside. So, I decided to take the train to avoid walking under the scorching sun. Just 1 minute to the left after exiting the Showa-dori exit of Akihabara Station. Oh, there's no line. I saw this place on the morning wide show, so I came here with some doubts, but it's already 2 pm. So, there's no line outside. Lucky timing. There were about 6-7 customers already seated. A couple was the only group of two. More customers started to arrive and the seats began to fill up. Luckily, I arrived at a good time. Many people were hesitating in front of the ticket machine, probably those who saw it on TV and came at different times. This time, since it was hot outside, I opted for a "drinking" lunch. I ordered: Japanese-style stir-fried pork [with extra vegetables] for 990 yen and a draft Asahi beer (Maruf) for 390 yen. It's the "Ro" version of the stir-fried pork. "Ro" comes with the option of "extra vegetables" and "garlic". If you want it to look good on social media, you might want to pay extra for "extra extra", but since I'm only having one beer, I went for the "extra vegetables" only. I selected the option on the ticket machine and handed the receipt to the floor staff. "Please follow me to the solo seat!" Actually, you can see people eating through a small window from the ticket machine area, which feels like a punishment. Last time, there was a curtain on the right side similar to Ichiran, so you couldn't see outside, but this time there was only one available seat, right in front of the ticket machine. You have to be careful not to make eye contact with people while eating. (laughs) First, the beer arrived. I almost missed it, but I wonder how the staff decide who to serve first. I took a sip and waited for the main dish. It arrived in about 5 minutes after I sat down. The amount of bean sprouts was just right. The garlic was also added in a suitable amount. The bean sprouts, which were not seasoned much, seemed to go well with the sweet bean sauce of the stir-fried pork, so I pushed the ingredients closer and dipped them in the sauce. Since the bean sprouts release moisture, the sauce became more like a soup compared to the thick sauce of the stir-fried pork. It's easy to mix with the bean sprouts, but it dilutes the essence of the stir-fried pork. Moreover, there was less stir-fried pork than I expected. Also, the selling point of this place, the size of the meat, was missing, and the meat was cut into easy-to-eat pieces. Considering the price increase to 990 yen, I would have been more satisfied with more stir-fried pork. Since my main purpose today was to eat "meat"... I usually don't eat much, but I felt like I could handle the "extra vegetables" version for lunch. However, if I skip the beer, the combination of the "forbidden fried rice" and "less stir-fried pork" would be my personal favorite. I'll try that next time. I'll come back again.
