Visited around 17:50 on a Friday. Even at this time, Asakusa was bustling with foreigners. Our restaurant is located in the Asakusa underground shopping street. While bars had a few foreigners, there were none in our restaurant (only 2 Japanese customers). We were guided to the counter seats. Ordered Teppanyaki Yakisoba for 400 yen and added a raw egg for 50 yen, totaling 450 yen. Although I wanted a beer, I had ramen and beer for lunch, so I decided to skip it this time. The food arrived in a few minutes. The staff left a space in the middle of the Yakisoba for the raw egg, which I promptly added. The Yakisoba had a rich sauce flavor and the noodles were medium-thick with a satisfying texture. It was just the taste I like. The portion was on the smaller side. This would have been perfect with a beer. It's a good option for those exploring Asakusa's food scene. The raw egg added a mild touch to the rich sauce flavor. Pairing it with the Yakisoba was the right choice. I finished it in no time. 450 yen is a great deal. I've been wanting to try this for a while, so I'm glad I did. Thank you for the meal.

Festival? Long-established yakisoba specialty store? No, a bar? @Asakusa Station East Exit on the Tobu Skytree Line, a long-established yakisoba shop stands in the underground of Asakusa Station. Or is it a bar? It's Sunday lunchtime for couples, and I feel like having a beer, but we're going out by car today~ haha Did I choose the wrong place? Almost everyone is having a daytime drink... haha Anyway, we got seats at the counter and it's yakisoba time. Teppan yakisoba (large serving) for 500 yen, and beef tendon yakisoba for 550 yen. The prices are cheap. They cook a huge amount of yakisoba on a large iron plate at the storefront, just like you often see at neighborhood festivals. The yakisoba shop in the underground of Asakusa Station is like a festival every day! After ordering, the yakisoba is served at the speed of a fast food restaurant. The taste is like festival-style yakisoba. The beef tendon yakisoba has a strong flavor from the beef tendons. There are many other menu items that catch my eye at this shop. The gyoza is handmade, and the ramen is only 500 yen. I want to try having gyoza as a snack and finishing with a bottle of beer and ramen. It's a mysterious atmosphere at this long-established yakisoba specialty store that makes you decide on your next order until your next visit. Next time, I have to run from home to get there!

Asakusa Underground Shopping Street is the "oldest active" underground shopping street. "Fukuchan" is located on the left side of the first entrance of the Asakusa Underground Shopping Street, just after exiting the ticket gate at the far end of the Asakusa Station platform on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line. The shop has a long counter along the wall and a table next to the central pillar, with a teppanyaki booth at the right end where they cook yakisoba. The reviewer ordered a highball and simmered pork offal with vegetables. The highball was made with whiskey and soda, while the simmered dish was delicious with tender pork offal and plenty of vegetables. They also ordered more highballs, cucumber pickles, and gyoza. The cucumber pickles were refreshing, and the gyoza was better than a famous dumpling shop they visited before. The yakisoba, cooked fresh each time, had short noodles soaked in sauce, perfect for drinking. Despite the short noodles, it was convenient to eat with chopsticks. The bill for 3 highballs and 4 dishes was ¥3,000. The retro atmosphere and prices at Fukuchan reminded the reviewer of the value of a 100 yen coin. They enjoyed the experience and plan to visit again. The reviewer also mentioned the anime film BLOOD THE LAST VAMPIRE, which featured scenes of Asakusa Station in the 1960s, capturing the nostalgic feel of the underground shopping street.

I was at Asakusa underground shopping street, the first underground street in Japan. It was a really hot day, so I quickly finished my beer. I ordered yakisoba and it came in just a few minutes, so fast! It was chewy and delicious. The nori was flying around from the circulator, which was funny. I was able to visit the shop I wanted to and enjoy Asakusa Temple as well.

The first impression is that it is cheap yet delicious. Despite being located right by the Ginza Line ticket gates, with a bottle of beer priced at 500 yen, you can see that it offers good value for money. (Perhaps because it is located in the Asakusa underground shopping street and run by an older man and woman.) I tried the famous yakisoba, but the texture of the noodles was not great. Maybe it's because my family loves ramen, but we preferred the garlic ramen and gyoza. The simplicity of having grated garlic on the ramen was actually quite nice. The photos show yakisoba (extra large with a fried egg topping), garlic ramen, gyoza, beef tendon stew, and bottled beer. There are other menu items I would like to try, so I plan to visit again soon.

Today's lunch was at Fukuchan, a yakisoba restaurant located in the oldest underground shopping street in Asakusa, Japan. I had yakisoba with beef tendon and a fried egg on top! Oh, and also some Akahoshi! This place feels like a time warp back to the mid-Showa era♪♪ #AsakusaYakisobaFukuchan #AsakusaUndergroundShoppingStreet #AsakusaBridgeLunchClub

Fukuchan is located right by the Ginza Line entrance of Tokyo Metro, at the entrance of the Asakusa underground shopping street. I had been wanting to visit every time I stayed in Asakusa for my Tokyo business trips, but it seemed like there would be a long gap until my next trip, so I decided to stop by after having a tempura bowl. I entered around 8:10 PM. The restaurant was established in 1964, and it feels like time has stood still since then. The interior has a long counter and a 6-person table in front of the shop, with a capacity of about 20 people. There were only about 6 of us that day, but I was slightly worried if the shop could handle being full with just the owner running it. I sat at the counter and ordered the following: - Teppanyaki Yakisoba @400 - Topping: Fried egg @100 - Bottled beer (Sapporo Lager) @500 The yakisoba served had noodles, cabbage, and fried tempura bits, with pickled ginger on the side. The noodles were slightly angular in shape. I sprinkled some seaweed from the table on top and halfway through, I cracked the egg and mixed it with the noodles. The simple ingredients, light sauce, and aluminum plate gave off a cheap impression overall, but it actually added to the charm that matched the atmosphere of the restaurant. It's rare to find a place that truly embodies the retro Showa era like this.

Hello. I am the self-proclaimed Curry King. May 4th. Dinner with a person called Riadison. We went to a popular izakaya called "Fukuchan" in the Asakusa underground shopping street. This place offers a variety of delicious dishes and you can also enjoy drinking. It is conveniently located right next to the subway station, making it a great place for drinkers. My goal today was twofold. One was to get Riadison drunk, pretend to send him back on the subway, and then take him to a hotel. The other goal was this! Fukuchan's specialty, Curry Sauce Yakisoba. It's not yakisoba with curry flavor, but yakisoba with curry poured on top. I didn't know this, but this curry yakisoba is a local specialty from Aizu. You can enjoy it here. The noodles have a unique texture. They are not just chewy, but have a sticky texture with the sauce soaked in. You might wonder about the compatibility of curry and yakisoba, but surprisingly, they go well together. The mayonnaise also works as a nice junky accent. Here's another secret tip. Fukuchan has a hidden private room that is not well known. With the key provided, you can enter the room, which is not very spacious. Without hesitation, I entered with Riadison. Haha, who would have thought we would end up in a secret room instead of going to a hotel from the subway. It's like a secret rendezvous instead of just drinking. After the door clicked shut, we had a short but enjoyable time. Ah, it felt good. My mind went blank for a moment. This is about smoking.

Every time I pass by here on my way to work, I feel like buying this yakisoba♡ Today, since there's nothing in the fridge, I'll have this yakisoba from here on my way home! Of course, with a fried egg on top. Fukuchan's yakisoba is completely different from the usual street stall yakisoba. The noodles are thick and chewy, the sauce is rich, and it comes with red pickled ginger. It's delicious♡ It's addictive. The owner is also very kind.

Asakusa Ginza Line exit is directly connected to an underground shopping street... It has a suspicious atmosphere. It has become a bit cleaner recently, but... Fukuchan sells yakisoba in a prominent corner, but it looks like a combination of a mainly alcohol-focused izakaya and Chinese restaurant. I always thought it was a place for people who shouldn't be drinking during the day, but when I joined them, it was actually quite nice. First, take a seat at an available table, check the menu on a small strip of paper, and place your order. A female staff member takes the order on a handmade note paper, while a male staff member handles the yakisoba. Bottled beer is 500 yen, yakisoba is 400 yen, and adding a fried egg costs 100 yen. The yakisoba is pre-made on a hot plate, the fried egg is quickly cooked on another hot plate, and then placed on top to complete the dish... It's very fast. I immediately start eating, and the noodles are medium-thick and cooked firm. The sauce is a rich and slightly peppery medium-thick type. There's a good amount of cabbage, and a little bit of pickled ginger... I wish there was some seaweed. Even so, I couldn't help but eat it all up, saying it's delicious. The unbeatable combination of B-class gourmet and beer was addictive. The bill came out to 1,000 yen... cheap.

I've been curious about this restaurant for a while. It's a deep underground space in Asakusa! I wanted to try other shops too, but I didn't have time, so I decided to visit this particular one! The "draft beer" (450 yen) was served in a chilled Sapporo beer mug and it was delicious! The "gyoza" (400 yen) had thin skin but was chewy, with a filling that had a lot of vegetables and a mild flavor. The gyoza sauce was spicy and paired perfectly with the beer. The gyoza was so delicious, I really liked it! The "sauce yakisoba" (500 yen) had thick, flat noodles that were a dark brown color, but the flavor was not too strong, making you want to add more sauce. The noodles had a chewy texture and were delicious! They have a wide variety of snacks to choose from. I want to come back next time and have a good drink here! Thank you, Fukuchan!

As it was necessary for work, my husband and I went to Asakusa to take a photo of the Kaminarimon gate. While we were there, we decided to visit the Asakusa underground shopping street, which I had been curious about for a while. This underground street is said to be the oldest in Tokyo, with a nostalgic atmosphere and charming shops from the Showa era. However, since we visited during lunchtime on a Sunday, most of the shops were closed. We were planning to choose between the Vietnamese restaurant "Authentic" and "Fukuchan", but unfortunately, "Authentic" was temporarily closed. Hopefully, they will reopen soon. We then headed to Fukuchan, and despite it being almost full around 12:30, we were able to get a table without waiting. We ordered the sauce yakisoba for 400 yen with an additional fried egg for 100 yen, and the beef tendon yakisoba for 550 yen with an additional fried egg for 100 yen. The yakisoba was prepared in advance on a hot plate, so it was served quickly after ordering. Although it wasn't piping hot, it had a nostalgic taste like festival yakisoba. The noodles were thick and soft. It could be a good snack to have with drinks as the flavor is mild, and you can adjust it with the condiments on the table such as seaweed, sauce, salt, and pepper. The beef tendon in the beef tendon yakisoba was very tender and delicious, so I would like to try the beef tendon stew and gyoza next time. It can get crowded around lunchtime, but the turnover is fast, so there is hardly any waiting time. There are other shops in this underground street that I am interested in, such as sushi restaurants and standing soba noodle shops, so I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I wanted to go to Kamiya Bar in Asakusa, but I wasn't in the mood for Western food today. I peeked in, but it was almost full and very crowded. I first went to a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, but it wasn't great so I left after only eating a little. I ended up at this place which I had originally considered. I had a highball with yakisoba and added a fried egg on top. The fried egg was a bit undercooked. The underground passage had a thin layer of water, probably due to the rain. When I was here an hour ago, I could smell a slight musty odor, but now it's masked by the smell of food stalls. I might come back here when I want to experience a retro atmosphere.

Just a 10-second walk from Asakusa Station on the Tokyo Metro, you might think it's a bar, but it's actually a yakisoba restaurant. The nostalgic smell of Showa era fills the air at "Asakusa Yakisoba Fukuchan," where you can get a plate of yakisoba for 400 yen. Despite some customers drinking alcohol, this is a yakisoba specialty shop. Established in 1965, the shop has a wide counter and a few table seats. Simply order your yakisoba at the counter, and within about 2 minutes, it will be served in front of you on an aluminum plate. The yakisoba, with cabbage and red pickled ginger, looks simple and delicious. The rich and sweet sauce coats the firm noodles well, creating a tasty dish. Yakisoba, originally a simple stir-fry dish, has a satisfying texture with its firm noodles. The strong sauce flavor pairs well with beer, making it a perfect snack to fill your stomach. You can enjoy the dish with a snack-like feeling. In addition to cabbage, you can feel the chewiness of beef tendon, adding richness and depth to the sauce flavor. From ordering to leaving, it takes about 10 minutes. In Asakusa, a popular spot for foreign tourists, this yakisoba is a delicious fast food that truly represents Japan.

On this day, we met in Asakusa and planned to have a drink at a slightly rare shop before heading to the main restaurant. We decided to meet here before going to the main restaurant (since it was a bit of a walk from the station). As we exited the Ginza Line ticket gate before dusk, we were surprised to see such a deep and wide space in front of us (since we didn't know much about Asakusa). We sat at the counter, ordered a highball, and waited nervously for our companion to arrive. When they finally arrived, we caught up while enjoying highballs and yakisoba, all at a very reasonable price. Another friend arrived late, and then we set out to find the Blue Bird in the neighborhood.

[April 2023 Revisit] Entertaining guests from Osaka in Asakusa with food and drinks. The first stop is Kibun Sushi, an Edo-style sushi restaurant, and the second stop is a unique spot. We headed to the Asakusa underground shopping street, just a few steps from the Ginza Line exit. This underground area is a deep, shady spot that feels like a world away from the bustling streets above. The chaos adds to the charm of Asakusa (^_^) We went to Fukuchiyan, a yakisoba shop right next to the ticket gate. It's been a while for me, but the atmosphere here remains the same. It's quite surprising to find such a place and shop right by the Ginza Line station exit. It's a true Showa-era gem. The shop is small, with exposed pillars and beams that make it feel even more cramped than it actually is. The menu consists of mainly yakisoba and a few simple side dishes. The alcohol options include beer and highball, just like a regular izakaya. This time, we added morokyu to go with the curry yakisoba. We toasted with highballs (350 yen each) (^_^) - Morokyu (300 yen): A simple and generous serving of morokyu. It was a good palate cleanser after the rich curry yakisoba. - Curry Sauce Yakisoba (500 yen): Unexpectedly, the noodles were topped with curry roux instead of curry powder. It's like swapping out rice for noodles in curry rice... if that makes sense. Despite the surprise, it was quite tasty. Yakisoba is a meal, but adding curry turns it into a side dish, which is interesting. [In conclusion] The uniqueness and location of this place impressed our guests from Osaka. It's like a hidden gem in Asakusa, perfect for a fun visit or a casual drink. The bill came out to a total of 1800 yen for two people, which is very affordable! We unintentionally achieved a "Senbero" night. Thank you for the meal.

Here is the translation of the restaurant review: "Here at the underground shopping area of Asakusa Station, I was able to capture the entrance of the ticket gate and shops together! With the guidance of Asakusa Pro, I visited this place. They have counter seats as well as table seats, which was impressive. I started with a toast with sweet potato shochu on the rocks. We decided to order yakisoba, but then we saw they also had curry sauce yakisoba! So, we chose that instead: - Curry Sauce Yakisoba (500 yen) - Morokyu (300 yen) Wait a minute! We thought it would be yakisoba with curry sauce, but it turned out to be yakisoba with curry sauce poured on top! Anyway, let's give it a try. The yakisoba was served quickly, almost like it was pre-made. The thick noodles were firm and had a unique taste, addictive in a way. The curry was good, but not exceptional. Maybe it's better without it? The morokyu was eaten by Asakusa Pro with bare hands! Overall, exploring the underground shopping area while experiencing Fukuchan's dishes is recommended. Thank you for the meal!"

Every time I pass by this restaurant, I always think to myself that I definitely have to eat there, but I haven't had the chance yet. It has a nostalgic feel from the Showa era, just like in my favorite novel by Asada Jiro, "Riding the Metro," where I cried watching the movie and stage adaptation. The restaurant fits right in with that atmosphere, located near the Ginza Line exit. The underground passage feels like a movie set, creating a unique ambiance. I recently had spinach udon at a nearby standing soba shop, so this time I opted for a simple yakisoba without extra toppings. The yakisoba is cooked on a hot plate, giving off a delightful aroma. It is served on a silver aluminum plate with pickled ginger on the side. The noodles are slightly firm, and the sauce is not too sweet or heavy. Sprinkling some dried seaweed from the table enhances the flavor even more. The yakisoba consists of cabbage and a small amount of ground meat, reflecting the traditional taste of this place. I look forward to enjoying it with a beer next time, to fully appreciate its deliciousness. I hope this restaurant continues to stay around for a long time. Thank you for the meal.

Japan's oldest shopping street, "Nakamise," Japan's oldest amusement park, "Hanayashiki," Japan's oldest bar, "Kamiya Bar," Japan's oldest subway station, "Asakusa Station" - Asakusa is full of Japan's oldest attractions! Here is "Fukuchan," located inside the oldest existing underground shopping street in Japan, "Asakusa Underground Shopping Street." I visited after getting a haircut at a barber shop in the same underground street. Enjoying a drink at Asahi's hometown Asakusa, with a Red Star beer. The Sapporo beer, with a connection to Ginza, is it due to the influence of the Ginza Line? The yakisoba with low water content. The unique texture of the slightly chewy yakisoba. Despite a slight price increase, it is still a bargain at 400 yen in Asakusa. Served on a silver plate, bringing a sense of nostalgia! The exposed pipe ceiling and checkered floor pattern. The realness that cannot be replicated by artificial means was there. The value of eating in Japan's oldest underground street. The yakisoba from old Asakusa weaves thoughts into the Reiwa era. Thank you for the meal.

After a fishing event in Asakusa for the first time in four years, I planned to go with my daughter this time, but she fell ill, so I ended up going alone. Last time when my daughter was with me, we visited a restaurant I had always wanted to go to in Asakusa. After passing through Sensoji Temple and the slightly shady underground shopping area, I found the crowded restaurant I had been aiming for. It was almost full, but luckily there was one seat available at the counter. I was curious about the curry, gyoza, and other menu items, but decided to go with the yakisoba as a beginner. The yakisoba arrived shortly, looking simple and tasting simple as well. I would like to come back here for a drink during the day if I'm in the area.
