A- B
I started lining up at the end of the drugstore show at Big Sight at 9:30 and walked for 3 hours, feeling tired, so I moved to Ariake Garden to rest my body. I started lining up at 12:45 and was seated in 20 minutes. I ordered water through a touch panel, and it was brought to me in a medium-sized glass by a waitress. For tea, I added my preferred amount of powdered tea to a cup provided on the table, and hot water was dispensed from a rotating faucet. The sushi restaurant was like a revolving sushi bar, but the ordered items were handed directly from the central counter by the chefs. The plates were different colors, typical of a revolving sushi bar, but the thickness of the fish and the rice were delicious, making it a good value compared to local sushi restaurants. I recently visited a cheap traditional sushi restaurant, and although it was only slightly more expensive including drinks, when comparing the quality of the fish, it was a great deal. I researched on a food review site with few reviews and ordered mainly seared items, focusing on sea urchin, which was generously served. Each of us was very satisfied, and we even ordered extra sea urchin, resulting in a total bill of 4,000 yen per person. The dishes included crab meat on steamed egg custard, whale (only one plate available as the item was sold out), seared medium fatty tuna with yuzu soy sauce, seared medium fatty tuna with lemon and salt, minced fatty tuna with green onions, green onion and fatty tuna roll, freshly prepared amberjack (a performance where freshly prepared items are auctioned off in the back and you can get them by raising your hand), seared three types (sea bass, sea bream, sardine), extra sea urchin, seared medium fatty tuna with yuzu soy sauce, seared whale with three types of sauces (lemon salt, yuzu jelly, sweet sauce), seared cutlassfish with yuzu soy sauce, seared scallop with lemon salt. In total, we had 30 plates for 3 people (extra sea urchin was served on two plates). I personally had 13 plates, so I shared some with others and skipped some dishes. Unfortunately, I couldn't take a picture of the seared scallop, but the scallop was thick and maybe it would have been better to eat it raw as the sweetness was lost after searing. Overall, the seared items were excellent. I have a feeling that I will become addicted to Ariake Garden. It was a property revitalized for the Tokyo Olympics, featuring theaters like Shiki Theatre, hot spring facilities, a shopping mall street with interesting stores, and a food court on the 5th floor with all the restaurants busy and lively. I think it will be less crowded on weekdays, so I will visit again.
