It had been a while since I last visited Shanti. I usually go for lunch, so going at night was a first for me. The interior has been renovated and the atmosphere is brighter than before. We ordered two Hamburg Curry dishes (regular spiciness), a hearty soup, added some tsukune (chicken meatballs), opted for extra rice, and enjoyed two glasses of highball. The highball was served in a perfectly chilled glass, which was fantastic.

Curry restaurant near Meiji Jingu. It's about a 10-minute walk from Meiji Jingu. This shop specializes in soup curry. I went on a Sunday around 3pm and it was about 70% full. There were many staff members who seemed to be from India or Nepal. The prices were a bit high, but I was drawn to the toppings, so I ordered the following: - Oyster and Scallop Soup Curry (1650 yen) It arrived in about 10 minutes. There were about 3 pieces of oyster and scallop, which was amazing! There were also plenty of other ingredients such as green peppers, eggplant, okra, carrots, watercress, shimeji mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, baby corn, and half-boiled egg. Not only the ingredients, but the soup itself was rich in the umami of oyster and scallop broth, with a hint of ethnic spiciness. I go to a nearby beauty salon and was recommended to try this place on my way back. It was a fantastic recommendation. The shop has a great sense of taste. I want to go again. Thank you for the meal!

It has been five years since I last visited Shanti. Due to my lifestyle, I rarely come to Harajuku, so I had to sneak out of work to visit on this day. Not knowing when I can come again, I played it safe and ordered the same menu as always: Chicken and vegetable soup curry, 25 bogas, soup filled to the brim, extra large rice (free), and gobo tempura. The weekday free refill for extra large rice was a service I don't remember from before. The gobo tempura topping was also new. The soup curry, just as delicious as it was five years ago, didn't feel as spicy, but I ended up sweating profusely from head to toe, so maybe my tolerance for spiciness has increased over the past five years. The bill came to over 2,000 yen. Prices have gone up for various items, and not knowing when I can come back, a little indulgence is understandable. I hope to be able to come back again soon (fingers crossed).

I don't like chunky vegetables, but I could eat them in the soup curry. It was delicious. I'm not a fan of big vegetables, but they were cooked well and tasted great! I feel like Shandy Harajuku is the best. Soup curry is the best. The meat is so delicious. (I went there in the past) Thank you for the meal.

It's the well-known pioneer of soup curry. I used to be the type who wouldn't accept anything other than curry rice as curry! Isn't curry rice a one-plate dish with curry roux and rice combined? They broke that concept and taught us that there are no rules when it comes to curry with their soup curry. You can choose the level of spiciness to infinity. They even offer extremely spicy options, so adjust it to your liking. The chicken is simmered until it's tender and the vegetables are full of flavor. You might not be able to go back to regular curry after trying this.

Lunch on October 29, 2022 (Saturday) with my partner. We went to this restaurant in Jingumae San-chome before heading to the National Stadium to watch the Japan vs New Zealand test match. It's a 7-minute walk from Harajuku Station. We arrived at 12:12 and were seated right away. I ordered the popular Chicken and Vegetable Soup Curry (¥1430) with medium spiciness and the MOMO Saigon (¥1200) with normal spiciness. Both soups were okay, with the original soup curry having a rich flavor and the Saigon soup curry having a stronger ethnic spice. The MOMO in the Saigon soup curry was also okay. The vegetables were average. Overall, it was a decent soup curry place in Tokyo. The total bill was ¥2630. The Japan vs New Zealand match was a missed opportunity for Japan, with a score of 31-38. Despite the loss, the game had a record-breaking attendance of 65,188 fans, creating an exciting atmosphere. After the match, the area around the stadium was crowded with rugby and baseball fans.

The popular soup curry restaurant is always full during weekday lunch hours, especially popular among women. I have visited many times before, but this time a foreign guest recommended it as a favorite spot. I chose the most popular chicken and vegetable soup curry for 1,280 yen. You can choose the level of spiciness, but I found the mild level 2 to be quite mild, so next time I will try level 4. The bone-in chicken was tender and soft, and the vegetables were well-preserved in their shapes, making it visually appealing and delicious. It's healthy too, which explains its popularity among women. The rice comes in a large portion for free, so the volume is sufficient. I was surprised to see young women at the shared table finishing their large portions. I usually have ramen or set meals, but it's nice to have this kind of lunch once in a while. I will definitely come back again!

Based on a friend's recommendation, I visited this place for the first time. I tried the most popular soup curry, which was quite light in flavor. It was delicious. My friend ordered a curry with a light color called Saigon-something, and I took a bite of it. It had more spice than it appeared and was tastier than expected!

Namaste. I am the self-proclaimed Curry King. A long time ago, my girlfriend was strangely obsessed with the soup curry restaurant "Shanti Harajuku". (Why is she so excited about Shanti in front of me?) (What does Shanti have that I don't?) I don't know why she liked it so much, but she kept talking about it so much that I became intensely jealous. Since then, it's been a long time since we faced off. Shanti-san, it's been a while... I won't let you forget about me... Kwaah!! Shanti━━━━!! (He still holds a grudge) Vegetable soup curry with meatball topping and heat level "Punishment Heaven" (level 10) specified. The ingredients include meatballs, carrots, eggplant, pumpkin, bell peppers, taro, lotus root, broccoli, baby corn, okra, and mizuna. First, the taro is delicious. Soft and sticky small taro. It's rare for taro to be in soup curry, right? And then there's the deep-fried broccoli. It's delicious. The charred edges of the florets are fragrant. It's like an erotic petal that becomes more enchanting the more you are teased. A bit different. The tomato-based traditional soup curry may not be innovative now, but Shanti, who captured my girlfriend's heart, has a certain quality. The attack power of "Punishment Heaven" level 10 heat is quite strong, and even after finishing it, my lips were tingling. I remembered the hot nights when my lips swelled from passionately kissing my girlfriend. No, we even kissed during the day. Chupong chupong. I remember it all thanks to Shanti... You will always be my good rival.

It's a 6-minute walk from Meiji-jingumae Station. I saw Takeshita Street for the first time in a while. The crepe shop still has a long line, just like in the past. Feeling a bit tired, I decided to go eat soup curry with a kick of spice. I went to Shanti, which also has locations in Shibuya and Ikebukuro. It was my first time trying it. I ordered the Pakchi Soup Curry with over 10 types of vegetables, without rice. I added the extra spicy level called "Punishment Heaven" for an additional 100 yen. The name of the 100 level is "Boga 10," which means pleasure in Sanskrit. The name of the 50 level is "Alkaloid," which sounds impressive. On the table, there was lemon water, fish sauce, and a bottle of water. The lemon water and fish sauce may be for the Saigon Soup Curry. The soup curry with lots of coriander was hearty. It contained broccoli, carrots, eggplant, sweet potatoes, burdock, okra, bell peppers, lotus root, and baby corn. The spiciness instantly opened up my pores. The soup was light and not heavy. They use over 20 types of spices, but they blended together perfectly, making it easy to drink. My lips started to swell from the heat and spiciness. At times like this, I enjoy the healing power of the vegetables. I particularly like the broccoli in the soup curry. The sweet potatoes were crispy, and the burdock was seasoned like karaage, making the vegetables delicious. It was a vegetable-packed dish, so I didn't feel like I was missing out on chicken or rice. It was just the right level of satisfaction. My stomach was happy and energized. It was delicious.

Although it wasn't the New Year's first sale, I wanted to buy some second-hand clothes, so I decided to explore Harajuku Street and have lunch at this restaurant. The entrance looked small, but the actual capacity seemed to be five times larger, as I was led deep inside. I was excited to order the Chicken Leg Curry with medium spiciness, as I had once eaten incredibly delicious soup curry in Sapporo. Despite the long wait of about 30 minutes, the curry was finally served. The curry was delicious, with tender meat that easily slid off the bone. The carrots and deep-fried eggplant were also good. However, the soup was a bit thin. It had enough saltiness, but lacked a bit of spice. I wished it had a bit more punch to it.

First time trying soup curry. It said to have a medicinal herb-like taste, so I was a bit hesitant, but it wasn't as strong as I expected and I was able to eat it. I think preferences may vary. The rice was surprisingly chewy, like rubber, and I wasn't sure when to swallow it.

I had some errands in Harajuku and was looking for a place to have a light dinner, so I decided to stop by this restaurant. The interior was divided into private spaces with curtain-like partitions, which was really nice. The food arrived quickly after ordering, which was great because I was in a hurry. I ordered chicken and vegetable soup curry, and the meat was so tender and delicious. I think I chose a spice level of 2 (I can't remember, sorry), but it was just right. I'll definitely come back again when I have more time. Thank you for the meal!

The soup curry is famous in Hokkaido, and I was not impressed by a restaurant mentioned in the guidebook, but the curry here is delicious! I ordered the vegetable curry, and the vegetables and chicken were cooked until they were meltingly tender. The flavors of the vegetables and chicken infused the curry well, making it more flavorful than just regular curry. Highly recommended.

I tried soup curry for the first time! I chose the fifth one from the bottom because I didn't know which one to choose, and it turned out to be quite spicy, around level 16 (I can handle spicy food relatively well). I'm curious about how spicy the ones above are! The curry had plenty of vegetables and had a refreshing taste. I think I'm hooked on soup curry!

Visited around 3:00 pm on a weekday in the second half of December 2020. It took less than 10 minutes from Meiji-jingumae. There were a few groups inside the restaurant but no waiting time. The interior had a mysterious and exciting atmosphere. Ordered: Chicken and vegetable soup curry for 1280 yen, spiciness level: very spicy. Toppings: Natto for 110 yen, cheese for 180 yen, water dumplings for 250 yen. Also had mango juice for 450 yen. Although I chose very spicy, it was not very hot, so it could be a bit spicier. The amount of vegetables was small, but with toppings like water dumplings, I was full. The soup was not too thick and had a nice flavor. I especially liked that the cheese was served separately. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing. I would like to visit again.

Today I worked and had lunch at Urahara again. It's cold so I find myself eating curry more often. I personally think curry is like medicine (lol). I had the "Egg and Vegetable Soup Curry" with a bit of spiciness (as usual) for ¥980. It had carrots, lotus root, okra, eggplant, and baby corn, with one and a half boiled eggs. The curry here is not too fancy, it's a straightforward soup curry that I like. However, why do soup curries always come with such a large portion of rice?

There was a super spicy restaurant I wanted to go to, but it was closed, so I came here instead. It's located near the back of Muraspo along Meiji Street. I've actually been to this place a few times in Shibuya, but this is my second time here. It's a cozy restaurant on the second floor. I wanted something spicy but also good for my body, so I ordered the vegetable curry and chose level 28 spiciness. It arrived in less than 10 minutes. I like the chunky vegetables in the soup curry. The level 28 spice was probably made with green chili peppers rather than habanero, so it wasn't too overwhelming. If you're looking for extreme spiciness, you might want to try level 40. This curry is easy to eat with no strong flavors, so it's suitable for everyone. Just be aware that seeking extreme spiciness might increase the cost.

On the first weekend of October, on a slightly cloudy and comfortable day, Yoyogi Park and Takeshita Street were both crowded with people. I managed to find a place to eat just in time before the last lunch order was taken, even though it was a bit past the deadline. The restaurant was quite full at this time, and two more groups came in after me. The staff was very accommodating, even though it was past 3 PM, the official end of lunchtime. I ordered the Egg and Vegetable Soup Curry for 980 yen, with a spice level of "2" since it was my first visit. After a 7-8 minute wait, I was served rice first, followed by the curry. The soup itself was flavorful and not too salty or spicy, allowing the taste of the ingredients to shine through. The vegetables were well-cooked and blended perfectly with the curry. The portion of curry was just right for the amount of rice provided. The variety of toppings was also appealing, and I will definitely be coming back to try more dishes. I was also tempted by the appetizer menu, so I will be a repeat customer for sure. I will come back again.

I had a strong craving for curry in the Omotesando/Harajuku area, so I headed to this restaurant that came up in the top search results. I've only had soup curry at two places before - Maji Spice and Sapporo Dominica - so I was looking forward to trying a new taste. It was around 2:00 pm during the Obon period, and there were a few empty seats. I ordered the standard chicken and vegetable soup curry, along with the weekday lunch special salad set (Caesar salad and a drink). You can choose the level of spiciness, so I went for level 4 (the maximum level available for free, described as very spicy). The salad and drink were served right after ordering, and about 10 minutes later, the soup curry was brought to the table. The chicken was tender, and the vegetables were soft. The soup didn't seem to penetrate the vegetables much, which was a bit disappointing. The soup was a bit salty - maybe because of the level 4 spiciness? It was a good level of spiciness, making me sweat gradually, which was perfect for summer. The light soup with a sesame flavor made the rice go down smoothly. I might have had high expectations for the soup curry after a long time, but I would like to try the Saigon soup next time if I have the chance.
