I went to Asakusa for a gathering of the horse racing club. Since I was the one who won today, my dinner was exempted, so I came to "Suzuhana" restaurant. I must have passed by this place countless times over the years. It's a prime location that I always pass by whenever I go to WINS Asakusa. After about 20 years of coming to Asakusa, I finally entered the gates for the first time. The restaurant is surprisingly clean, dispelling the image of dirty shops on Hoppy Street. The simmered dishes, sashimi, and grilled dishes are all delicious. The restaurant itself is also very clean and wonderful. However, compared to the neighboring shops, the prices seem a bit on the higher side. The streets are full of foreigners walking around. Well, I guess it's because it's a tourist area, even on Hoppy Street.

I was watching horse racing and ended up at this place because it was Saturday. Had drinks with my coworker in Asakusa during the day. Second bar, we drank in a tatami room where there was a one-hour limit. We drank while eating motsu-ni, edamame, and kimchi. It was great. It was nothing short of great. It was the best. It was the best izakaya experience. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Hoppy Street in Asakusa on a weekday afternoon around 1 pm. Even on weekdays, there were quite a few people enjoying daytime drinking. Among the row of izakayas, I decided to try "Suzuhou," which had relatively high ratings on Tabelog. I toasted while feeling the breeze outside. I started with a draft beer, followed by the unique black barrel Hoppy that they offer. The Hoppy is served separately from the water, and the black barrel Hoppy is poured into the glass by itself. It tasted refreshing with a great throat feel, perfect for the hot summer! For food, I tried the recommended Korean-style simmered beef tendon and beef honeycomb tripe. Both dishes were delicious, with no unpleasant smell or greasiness. The mild seasoning and great texture made them very enjoyable to eat! The slight spiciness paired perfectly with the black Hoppy. Both the food and drinks exceeded my expectations in terms of quality, and I left feeling very satisfied.

I entered the restaurant around 5 pm on Saturday. It wasn't too crowded. The air conditioning was on, but it didn't seem to be very effective against the heat outside, so it was quite hot inside. I ordered the draft Hoppy because this place serves it, but as someone who isn't very good at tasting flavors, I couldn't really tell the difference. Since the price is almost the same as draft beer, maybe I should stick with bottled Hoppy.

I wanted to try drinking nama hoppy, so I visited this place. It was served with ice, making it refreshing and easy to drink. I forgot to take a picture of the food, but I had morokyu (cucumber with miso paste) and grated yam. Cucumber is definitely a great snack to have with summer drinks. The chopsticks just kept moving. The grated yam was seasoned with soy sauce and topped with seaweed, which was a great combination. Adding wasabi on the side made it even more delicious. Some people might find the staff a bit cold, as mentioned in other reviews, but I enjoyed the high-quality menu and the atmosphere. Just be aware that there is only one shared restroom, so it may be a bit difficult to use. There are other menu items that caught my attention, and I would like to visit again to enjoy drinking nama hoppy.

The atmosphere is nice, but the staff may be a bit unfriendly. It's easy to enter even if you're alone, so that's good. The drinks were a bit strong, so when I asked for carbonated water, it was 300 yen. I thought it was a bit pricey, so I gave up. It's good that they tell you the prices clearly. I think they have good quality items for tourists. The prices are a bit high though. By the way, the restroom is unisex.

Today is Sunday. I went to Hoppy Street at 12 o'clock for lunch. First, I had a draft Hoppy. It was served in a glass mug. It didn't make the "ahh" sound because there was ice in it. I guess you have to say no ice if you don't want it. So, I ordered a Akahoshi instead. Oh, the glass was Akahoshi branded. It looked cool. Kind of like Che Guevara. I ordered a few snacks to go with it on my way home.

On a recent visit to Asakusa at night, I was surprised by the large number of people out and about. The area around Senso-ji Temple was bustling with activity, with the Hoppy Street packed as if a festival was taking place. The tables outside the shops were all filled with young Japanese enjoying themselves. I managed to get into the popular old establishment called "Suzuhou" without much of a wait. I ordered some spicy Korean-style beef tendon stew, traditional Japanese beef tripe stew, raw beef liver, and thick fried tofu. I decided to relax my recent alcohol ban and enjoyed a glass of Karakuchi cold sake from Kamitaka and a Denki Bran highball. The subtle taste of the Hannyatou warmed my heart, reminding me of the importance of moderation. I want to maintain a healthy body and mind to continue enjoying experiences like this. This night was a step in the right direction on my road to recovery. As the intense summer heat continues, I want to peacefully enjoy the night with a gentle buzz.

A local classmate came to visit, so we went on a bar crawl along Hoppy Street in Asakusa. We visited the first bar because they serve fresh hoppy. Since the weather was nice, we were able to enjoy our meal outside on the terrace. The fresh hoppy was delicious, and all the dishes, including the stewed offal, were tasty and affordable. It was a great restaurant.

I visited Hoppy Street in Asakusa on a Sunday afternoon. Despite it being a Sunday, the street was bustling from lunchtime, creating a festive atmosphere. Luckily, I was able to sit at the counter with almost no wait and ordered a beer to start. I ordered the restaurant's popular dishes, including simmered offal, honeycomb tripe, whale bacon, and tuna cheek. The offal had a reliably delicious taste, while the whale bacon, which I hadn't had in a long time, offered a unique flavor different from seafood sashimi. My favorite dish was the honeycomb tripe, which was chewy, sweet, and savory, absorbing the flavors well. Overall, the prices felt a bit high, but it's understandable for a tourist area. I tried both the light and dark Hoppy beers and found the light one a bit too mild for my taste, so I switched to the dark one. Enjoying delicious food and drinks in a historic neighborhood like Asakusa was a luxurious experience on a Sunday afternoon. I would love to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal!

Squid cafe offers Korean-style raw squid for 900 yen. It's seasoned with yangnyeom sauce and goes well with drinks. A good snack. Akahoshi beer costs 600 yen. For a healthy option, try the draft white Hoppy for 600 yen. All prices include tax. Overall, the atmosphere is nice, but the ice in the draft white Hoppy had a strange smell which was disappointing. Despite that, I think it's a lively and good restaurant.

It's May, but this year there have been many chilly days. Today, it's raining lightly again. A long-awaited desire to drink sake on Hoppy Street with a friend was finally fulfilled, as we visited a restaurant called Suzuhou that claimed to be the only place in Asakusa where you can drink fresh Hoppy. The restaurant had available seats, so we decided to give it a try. The area was filled with Japanese people, unlike the foreign tourists in Nakamise Street. There were many young couples and groups. The rule was to order at least one dish per person. The prices were a bit high, typical of a tourist area. But it added to the experience. I started with my favorite Sapporo Black Label beer, paired with simmered organ meat. The flavor of the simmered organ meat was irresistible, soaked in miso, and the double konjac in black and white was stylish! The generous amount of green onions was a delight. It felt like a long time since I drank in such a place. It feels like we are returning to the pre-COVID days... which is a happy thought. A nostalgic feeling. I ordered yakitori and tsukune skewers with just sauce, as additional orders were not allowed. It was 600 yen for 3 skewers. For my second drink, I finally had the white Hoppy, with ice. It was refreshing, less bitter, and easy to drink compared to the bottled version. Even my friend who doesn't usually drink Hoppy said they could drink this. We drank quickly and left. That's the cool way of drinking for people from Edo... The staff seemed a bit indifferent at first, but when we were leaving, they politely reminded us to check for any forgotten items, which was a funny touch. The Ueno-Asakusa area is popular with both foreigners and Japanese people. Personally, I think it's the best tourist area in Japan. With the lively atmosphere returning, let's all continue to enjoy eating and drinking and having fun! Thank you for the meal! I'll be back again.

The draft Hoppy was delicious!!! I ordered at the counter seat and the food came out in about 3 seconds, which was surprising! I ordered Kinpira Gobo, Kimchi, and Beef Tendon Stew, and all of them were delicious. It was easy to enter and I thought it was good. I want to use it again.

Alcohol, one dish per person, got it, that's the rule. Huh? You can only order yakitori once, but you can order as many plates as you want in one go, that's the rule. Also, it's mandatory to order a snack with each drink, that's the rule. The menu has a lot of difficult rules, causing confusion. A late-arriving American who can't drink alcohol is peeking inside, and the master announces a new rule: No entry for those who can't speak Japanese. Oh my, I say "I'm with my friends!" and meet the conditions. I explain the rules so far, order two beers and a mandatory dish. Phew. Apologizing, what am I? Barely meeting the minimum requirements, it costs $20. "Sorry again," I say, and the American smiles and says "Very cheap!" Oh my, the yen is weak, tears. Other than the rules, no stress. It was delicious!

Hoppy Street is lined with red lantern bars. Since tourists come here, it's not the typical red lantern price setting. It's actually quite expensive for this type of place!!! I didn't realize this shop had draft Hoppy, and I regretted not trying it later (^◇^;) You must order at least one item per person at this shop, so be aware that just having one drink is not allowed. It's a shame that the grilled chicken skewers only come with sauce... Well, the taste was okay (^◇^;) The beef tendon stew had a nice kick to it and was delicious!! Well, it's understandable given the location, but the high prices are still a drawback.

I have tried drinking draft Hoppy before, but I came here because my friend wanted to try it for the first time. The place looks like a street stall with a counter serving draft Hoppy, which is easy to drink. There were large plates of food lined up, and I tried the kinpira gobou, which had big pieces of burdock and was delicious. I also had the Korean-style simmered dish, which was not as spicy as I expected. The horse sashimi was just okay. The prices are a bit high for the casual atmosphere, and it seems like they may cater to tourists. But I like the atmosphere, and there was a cat there, maybe the mascot?

I visited on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was almost full. They strictly adhere to a 1-hour time limit and keep track of time. As a result, the turnover is quick. I tried both the mountain hoppy and the black and white varieties, and they were easy to drink and delicious. The appetizers were also tasty.

Hoppy, which boasts its original recipe, has a strong taste in the black version, resembling beer! Some say the Half & Half is a bit light though. The dishes all had a homemade feel to them and were delicious. The menu offers a variety of options that make you want to try them all. I would like to come back next time to enjoy a leisurely drink.

In Asakusa's Hoppy Street, there is a shop where you can enjoy draft Hoppy, which is the only place you can find it. They offer both the black and white varieties just like regular Hoppy. While I love the usual Hoppy, the ice-cold draft Hoppy has a unique deliciousness that sets it apart! Their Korean-style beef tendon stew for ¥700 is spicy and pairs well with alcohol. I also recommend the simmered clams for ¥700. They come with plenty of wasabi, which adds a delicious kick when dipped in. The shrimp and chive dumplings for ¥600 are also a specialty, with large shrimp inside for a satisfying bite, so be sure to try them too!
